Go back and watch Fields dismantle Clemson's defense in the playoffs and then honestly try to tell me Willis has a higher ceiling. Y'all musta forgot.

Come on man I’m a UNC fan/Howell guy big time too but for whatever reason we don’t want him. Willis has some tools you can work with it just might take a year or two.

  2. I don’t understand the continued hand wringing/threads ab us being screwed. No matter what we were likely last on the pecking order as far as desirable places free agent qbs would want to go. None of these trades has changed that imo. We suck all of us fans know I don’t know how any of these trades has made us suck even more we sucked worse than any other destination anyways.

And we should have been planning on drafting our guy regardless. Rodgers and Wilson were never coming here….we’ll have to be Watsons absolute only option for him to come here….Cousins Jimmy G Wentz Jameis don’t move the needle….let’s just take a swing on a rookie I have no issue giving him the Josh Rosen treatment when Rhule is fired.

We will continue to be a losing franchise then

We can win without Deshaun Watson. He’s a heck of a football player but clearly he has some issues that I don’t want on my favorite NFL team. Of course nothing I say or think matters so maybe you’ll get your wish but I for one don’t want him on the team. But if I had it my way we’d have a new coach so who cares what I think.

I'd call that wishful thinking, especially as long as Matt Rhule is still in charge and needs to save his ass.

Idk I just disagree on this one. If every one in the room minus Rhule thinks Willis will be elite and Pickett will top out at Kirk cousins I get the feeling he’ll get over ruled by Tepper. I know every thing is all doom and gloom for most but it’s just how I read it. Reasonable minds can disagree!

They signed Thomas to that big deal because he was clocked by GPS going down field at 20 mph. Fittermagic!

I think he was using an example of what they think he can be but yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if it proves to be the terrible signing it appears to be.

  6. Oh yeah and it seems like they believe the QB  is holding Ian Thomas back if you read between the lines. And Mcadoo identified him as some one he really liked so I’m actually ok with it now. He was a crap head coach but really was a good o coordinator. It seems like Thomas and Luvu got paid also because they’re good locker room guys and we really might need them to keep the team together if this season goes how most think.

  7. Just watched it and my takeaways are as follow….

Fitt said we’re not going to force something just to force it…if we’re gonna take him at face value that means the oline no matter what and taking Pickett just because he’s more pro ready even though a Willis or Howell may have a lot more upside *might* not be the lock every one says it is.

Campen wanted to see more of Brady at LT (who didn’t not named rhule) and Brady has a legit shot at being the LT. I’m not positive we’re absolutely locked in on a LT tbh. Also that they’re very open to trading back. If I’m a better man (and my God am I) I think the most likely scenario is drafting Willis or trading back.

Lastly it seems like Tepper might really be letting every one know that if we don’t win this year heads are gonna roll. You can kinda tell Fitt feels the stress the fans/Tepper are putting on them. All in all a solid straight to the point interview.

  8. He’s interviewing for a chance to run the show in Pittsburgh of all places. He’d be a fool not to….look at it as a good sign that he’s garnering outside interest it means we have talent in the front office. The only question is will Rhule get out of the way so the talent can do it’s job.

Thats the persona when in front of the camera. Most of the guys in the NFL are chill, likable dudes when the cameras are on.

You dont chase someone down and beat the holy hell out of them because you thought he might have done something to your group if you are a chill and likeable dude.

I’ve met him twice actually and both times with absolutely no cameras around he was a chill, likable dude. Obviously we all are different at home than in public but when I met him in public he was really nice so this is surprising to me.

Is this really surprising to anyone?

Yeah being a Saints player aside Alvin is a pretty chill likable dude imo. Idk what he would have done in the past to make you think differently.

Point being people throw things around this place and parrot it as gospel and when presented with stuff that goes against them you revert back to “well you know”

Rhule is the main issue with this team we all agree on that.

Walter football is a crock of poo and always has been but people will use it for their confirmation bias.

I get what you’re saying but I’m huge nfl draft nerd/work with a few companies that end up providing services for the players at the combine (hospitality I’m not that cool) and I’ve met him and Charlie Campbell. While I think they’re both not my favorite cup of tea their insight had been accurate 80% of the time. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize we’re an organization in turmoil I was just trying to offer what I thought was useful input others would find interesting. If you don’t find it useful feel free to just stay off the thread.
