Rhule asked what he looks for in a QB: "You want someone who's elitely intelligent, a tremendous leader. You want someone who's accurate, who has arm talent to make all the throws and who has a history of making plays in crucial situations."

That sounds alot like Zach Wilson

    Or Trey Lance.

I mean, he was the GM for over half of our existence.  So I'd hope so.

The fact is that as GM, the Panthers only had 3 winning seasons with him from 2002-2012 and 2018-2020 (I don't count 2017 for obvious reasons).

This is such a terrible move by WFT.  Panthers had a franchise QB and still failed to string together consistent success year-by-year (unless you are one of the ones who considers the 7-8-1 2014 Panthers successful).  What reason is there to think that will change with Rivera/Hurney in Washington, except now they have to go out and find that QB still?

Let me clear my good name here early and say I’m not mad whatsoever we fired him his drafts after the 1st round were typically abysmal. And I’ll never ever ever forgive him for drafting Jimmy clausen...I just wanted to offer a different perspective than many clowning on him. Cheers to a brighter future for the Panthers!

  3. I trust your evaluations as I’ve seen it over the years on this board but I guess I’m just seeing more from Lance than Wilson long term? Wilson also really only had one big year and was almost at the risk of losing his starting job.

I guess I just feel like both are projects but Lance seems to be the superior player in my eyes. What separates the two so much to you and other NFL evaluators that my amateur eyes just can’t see(seriously not trying to sound like a jerk I genuinely want to know what I’m missing)? Wilson also throws his wr into trouble A LOT and I can’t imagine that will endear him to his receivers.

  4. I'd say a Gio Bernard/Frank Gore hybrid. The elusiveness and vision of Bernard, but not the speed.  Not as punishing as Gore, but hits the hole with purpose and is a versatile back.

I was thinking Frank Gore but hadn't seen him in person so I wasn't sure.

  5. Gonna finish my thought since for whatever reason I couldn't really edit my post when I hit reply by accident....

I think Boykin can be just what the doctor ordered when it comes to the intermediate routes....kind of like a young Jerico. Not to much sizzle but effective. A perfect Gettleman signing.
