Maybe someday, but its not going to happen throwing darts in the 2nd and 3rd round.  Oh and San Diego isnt moving Slater to guard they immediately announced he was their starting LT.  Imagine that, having a franchise qb and immediately drafting a LT to protect him.  Damn that must be nice.

So tell me again, what are Slaters questions?

Yeah, the Chargers are the team you want to immulate. lol

This is Fritt, and Rhules' first draft together. It is only the end of the first round. Maybe we can wait for the 2nd, and 3rd rounds to be over before we flush it down the toilet.

Also, there are still some FA LTs still out there. But hey, we probably won't sniff at them either. Right?

I get it. It is All Pro or nothing for you. Chances are you are going to be harping on this for quite some time. Get your rest, drink plenty of fluids. Cuz you are going to need it.

Umm, you realize they just passed up the second best LT prospect in the draft right?

Um...you do realise that there are still LTs on the board. Right?

Slater had questions, and many have him penciled in as a G.

Ah screw it. Flame away. Maybe someday we will get that All Pro LT you so covet.

We havent even had solid consistent play.  Dont kid yourself.  Pointing out the correlation between All pro and first round is just to show that you have to draft high to get a talented LT.  Something we havent done.

You say "Something we haven't done" like this FO team has been here for years. This is Rhules' 2nd draft, and his 1st with Fritts. Way to early in their tenure to see trends.

You are harping on past deficiencies that really have nothing to do with the present regime

We havent drafted a left tackle in the first round in over a decade.  This includes when we had an all world franchise qb.  A generational talent.  There are less than 10% of tackles drafted outside of the first that make All Pro as a first round pick.   So in closing its laughable to even suggest we have a good draft record in drafting offensive line help.  Its insanity that we havent even tried given its the one constant on every good playoff team.

So your whole argument lately is you cannot get All Pro talent for the LT position outside the 1st. We can't draft a LT if he isn't graded out to be an All Pro?

Why do we need All Pros? Is not solid consistent play good enough? There is still a chance we can address the LT position tonight.

Was a huge position of need and he is arguable one of the best DBs in the draft.

The downside is I feel like this was a weak DB class. Guys like Horn and Surtain are probably mid to late first rounders imo. He isn’t anywhere near the prospect of a Jalen Ramsey or Patrick Peterson.

If the guy you want is there, you take him. He was not going to be there at 39,

And like you said, any CB you did take at 39 is not going to come close to Horn.

There is still Oline help in the 2nd. We should be ok.

If Philip rivers can make it with his throwing motion anyone can i think that’s lazy if you don’t take someone cause there throwing motion don’t fit you. A small part of the reason  Aaron Rodgers fell in his draft and he fixed it . Throwing motions can be worked out and his isn’t even that bad it’s flick of a wrist with a slight quark

    t

Gotta give you Rivers. But just watch Fields motion. It has a hitch in it. It adds almost a half a second to his time. Trevor, and Wilson were at .4 seconds. Jones, and Trey were at .5. Fields was at .8.

That doesn't seem like much, but it can be the difference between a clean throw, and one under duress.

Seems piddily, but hey, he fell.

The real nightmare scenario is if Horn isn't at least as good as James Bradberry.

    Yeah, that's the spirit.

Sounds like the mother in law. She has a knack for finding the worst case scenario in anything.

I really wanna see all these throwing flaws you speak of i really do . How somebody with crazy amount of throwing flaws  didn’t throw a crazy amount of ints while he was in college ? Fields gonna make a lot of people look stupid for passing him up .

Having a top flight Oline like OSU had, can hide a lot of flaws. That hitch in his throwing motion won't go over in the NFL. He won't have the time he had in college.

. Hence, teams got a little leery about him.

  9. Folks have been saying for months there is LT, and OL talent in the 2nd, and even the 3rd round.

Now that the time has arrived, half the Huddle freak out saying we need to move up to get any OL talent.

    Man, I love this joint.

If that's true why not find a tackle for him though? They're really hanging Sam out to dry.

Also, all eggs in one basket it is then.

Damm dude, you do know there is more draft to go? Right?

We may have taken Sewel, we may never know. There are a few LTs still left that may be able to help us out as well.

You are obsessing about something that has yet to happen. Man, that has got to get nerve wracking.

Poing being. We may yet take a LT. And folks will claim he was the wrong one and we screwed up again.

It matters a bunch when you pick in the top 10. Many would argue we didn't even get the most proven CB. Not to mention we probably passed on a pretty good QB, LT and WR. I don't like the pick. Do I think he will bust no... But do I think he will change the game like a good QB could nope...

We got the top rated CB.

We passed on the 3rd or 4th best QB.

We passed on lots of good talent. What does that matter?

We got the best player at his position. A position of great need in this passing league. We were not going to get that return on any other position.

  12. 1 minute ago, Snake said:

I just struggle being happy with a guy who got destroyed by DeVonta Smith. While Smith and Fields were still there. Yeah if we were picking 10 to 16 great choice but at 8 its a reach this year.

So...Horn started what? 30 games. And had 1 bad game against the Heisman Trophy  winner.

It is a passing league. Hence, it is a defend the pass league. We just got a guy who excels at defending the pass.

We had 1 1st round pick. Does it matter where we picked, as long as we got a top talent?

and his release motion allowed him to be the overall most accurate QB in this draft who rarely turned it over.....

think the Bears learned a lesson after overthinking the obvious when it comes to QBs.   Fields is the Watson of this draft.

Pleas quit quoting me. I am done with this silly take of yours. Fields dropped for a reason.

Fields went somewhere else. Deal with it.

  14. 1 minute ago, CRA said:

You can find a TV personality selling every narrative under the sun lol.

Fields went undefeated in the regular season over 2 seasons....in a power 5 conference....and outshined Lawrence head to head.   Was drafted 12th.  Pretty sure he is the talent most think he is.   But you and Chris Simms have at it.

So...you use " MoveTheSticks", but I can't use 15 guys arguing the draft that were iffy on Fields? Ok then.

Once Fields throwing motion made the rounds folks started souring on him.

I'm done. You're mad at the QB room. I ain't wasting any more time on this. So sorry we didn't make you happy by taking the 3rd or 4th best QB.

Word was Fields was their 2nd rated QB in this draft.  MoveTheSticks said it during the draft.   Behind only the generational talent named Trevor.

I don’t think it is outlandish to talk about how the Panthers are consistently botching the QB spot....which matters.

Plenty of folks all over tv today claimed that if Fields drops, it is because of his release motion. It is more than twice as long as Trevor and Wilson. So he was not the overwhelming talent you claim.

You don't want anything but QB, how did that work out for you? We got an A+ talent. And it isn't good enough for way too many Huddlers.

I mean, the goal is to build a winning team.   QB is most important piece to that goal.

Rhule was forced into a position where he simply had to replace a Teddy caliber QB with the same.  He did that.

I supported kicking the tires on Sam.  But that is all we are doing.  It likely goes how that generally goes.

We get it. We shudda taken a QB. Let's take the 3rd or 4th best QB instead of the best rated CB. Talent wins. We just took a great talent.

Where someone is picked and who is available at the time....has a lot to do with how I critique the selection.

our roster is Sam Darnold, Grier and PJ...and was passed up Fields for Horn.

Sooo...because you are mad at our QB room, you are mad at the JC pick. Makes perfect sense.

Rhule likes Sam, if that works our we are good. If not, we go at it again. We have coaches that can teach. Why not wait until the product is actually on the field before you write it off?
