    They lucked out

they were wanting to hire Sean Payton and sign Tom Brady and backup plan was McDaniels and Tua

Luck is part of the game. We got unlucky with the Reich hire. Right the ship with one of the Johnsons. The thought process of getting the guy who was gonna develop Bryce was the right thought. Reich was just the wrong guy.

  2. Tepper is about to be in a position where he has to make a deal with the devil.

In order to get a coach who can right the ship…he’s going to have to give total control. That means Fitt is gonna be gone.

It can’t be Ben Johnson or any of these other coordinators. It’s gonna have to be Harbaugh (or equivalent) and that person is gonna want total control.

On mobile so sorry for tweet not working

Burns is gonna bend us over. $30M is looking cheap

Is there something we don’t know about Sweat vs Burns? Sweat seems to be in the Burns league as far as pressures. Some think he’s better against the run.

But the Commanders only got a 2nd round pick for him…..then the Bears signed him for $100 mil? To me those two things don’t align. Wouldn’t someone getting a $100 mil contract be worth more than a second round pick?

In the Burns aspect of all of this…If the Bears called and offered a single second round pick then that’s not a serious inquiry. We’d all be up in arms if Fitt traded him for that value.

When he hits the free agent market, he very well could be the most talented to hit Free agenc. Most CB's of his talent never hit the free market.  So he could easily end up commanding way more money than most realize.

I'm not saying we should extend him. Just spelling out the basic economics of the NFL Free Agency.

So, yes, availability and timing are very important.

There’s no way he gets extended imo unless he comes back this year and is completely shut down. But even then I bet we wouldn’t sign an extension in part bc he’d want to gamble on himself.

Jaycee is doing the same thing to us that CMC did just to a higher degree. How many games has CMC missed for the niners? None? It’s the most frustrating thing about pro sports and is why I mostly watch CFB right now.

Second dumbest move of the offseason was passing on D Hopkins to pair with Young. Easily could have afforded him.

First dumbest move was giving up Dj Moore in the first place. Get pick #3 and this season is completely different. Probably still get Bryce too lol.

Year in and year out we all call for moves that make a ton of sense…it doesn’t happen. Then there is retrospective analysis. Pretty frustrating. Who knows how the season for the team and BY is different if he has Thielen AND Hop as his top receivers.

You're only looking at it from our point of view. Adams on the other hand wouldn't be happy here. He's trying to win at this stage of his career. Trading him to the worst team in the NFL will only make him more pissed.

He’s already won? He won a ton with GB. He’s pissed about Vegas bc of the QB situation and he’s not being used so his production is going down. From that perspective CAR is at worst a lateral move. At best it’s a massive upgrade.

It doesn't really make sense for Adams. Why would he want to spend the twilight of his career on a trash team with a QB who is still learning the position? Why a guy is on the tail end of his career he's thinking about the SB, and going to teams with experienced QBs. Why would he uproot his whole life to come to the poop Panthers? Why would he want to bring his family to Charlotte? Some extra money and losing? He's already filthy rich.

We're trapped right now with a bad team that's probably going 0-17. The time to prepare and trade was before this season started. Fitt made 0-17 type moves, and now we take our medicine. Major changes to this team can be made once this dreadful season comes to a merciful end. Priority one will be obtaining a #1 WR who is not in his 30s, and can be lured with piles of cash.

Nobody gives up their WR in free agency? Adams was had bc he was part of a really costly trade. Diggs, Hill same story…#1 receivers don’t hit free agency. So no matter what a trade is going to have to happen or we’re going to be waiting years on a draft prospect to turn into a #1.

Adams, their 1st and 25' 2nd and I'd be good with that.

Adams and their 1st for Burns. Burns is worth two 1st round picks. Adams is worth one 1st. Get it done so Bryce can get on the right track. His development over the next 5 years is the most important thing for this franchise.

We scored 14 pts Sunday and got shut out for 3 quarters vs a meh defense.

He’s a rookie. His last three passer ratings are 93, 82, 85. Would you have rather us taken Pickett a couple years ago?

His rating after sitting and learning, and having ample weapons is <80.

Maybe you’d rather have Trevor Lawrence? His career rating is 84 and this year it’s 54 even with the Jags going all out to give him talent.

Maybe you’d rather have Stroud? In the long run maybe he turns out to be the better choice but who knows. It all depends on who the team surrounds Young with on offense. Right now he’s got a security blanket 33yo WR and a TE. That’s it.

D is another story. We’ve gone all in on trying to amass defensive talent…and they’re abysmal.

  10. I’m not sure I completely get the Reich hate? He’s an offensive guy. Our offense is steadily making progress. Bryce is getting better every game with very few NFL caliber weapons.

Where is the criticism of Evero? First round picks and talented players all over that D and they’ve given up 40 points three different times.

Is the offense on fire? No. But it’s a rookie QB and his best weapon is a 33yo cast off from a mediocre (at best) Vikings team.

The defensive collapse imo is the story here. We all knew the offense would need time. The defense was supposed to float until that happened.

I don’t want to make you feel worse but Miami made a lot of vet trades for picks. They traded for Hill because they got rid of Fitzpatrick for a 1st and Tunsil for a couple 1sts and a 2nd (sound familiar?). One of those firsts ended up being the pick the 49ers traded 3 firsts for and the pick we should have had if Rivera hadn’t started Haskins for a week only to release him.

Anyway, while we are minus all the picks for Young, Miami used their tank pick on Tua and then used all the picks received in trades to rebuild their team and make trades like Hill. We are in the same spot except we traded away a bunch of picks and our offensive stars and didn’t trade our defensive guy for the bounty.

The only difference may end up being the order of operations. Miami made a bunch of trades and stocked up on picks before getting the QB. We got the QB….and may yet stock up on picks and free agents.

Imo the only players who aren’t going anywhere are Bryce and the OL.

If they don’t feel like they can get a deal done with Burns they’ll trade him. It sounds like they’re already willing to trade Chinn and Jackson.

  12. Isn’t this the franchise that drafted Tua ahead of Herbert and ate the media’s poo for the last 3 years?

Then they got Tyreek, Waddle, McD and everyone loves them.

It’s the same story different year for CAR.

Get. Better. Players. For. Your. QB.

I watched Cam for a decade have nobody to throw to. Don’t repeat the mistake with Young.

  13. You take your shot when you get the chance. We won 7 games last year with a pretty horrific QB situation.

The OL was one of the best in the league.

The defense had multiple pro bowl caliber players (if healthy).

We were actually set up to drop a QB in and compete for the South….in part bc the South is horrible.

For whatever reason it’s not clicking. Reich has to get some guys back and figure out why. But trading for Bryce wasn’t a bad move. He was arguably the best player in CFB every week he stepped on the field.

  14. There’s no way. Shaq is injured. Jaycee is injured. DJax is injured. Corbett is injured.

If those guys are healthy this is a different team. We knew going into the year we traded our best receiver. So if you wanna fire Fitt for not going after Hop then sure…bc that was just idiotic to not try and get as many talented veterans around BY as possible. But other than that I don’t see any other moves. Reich isn’t getting fired this year unless he goes winless.

He needs a Shanahan type surrounded by elite talent. We have our work cut out for us but we signed up for all of it.

People need to realize that this team outside of a few OL, Hurst this offenses pieces are horrific.

His top receiver is a 33yo cast off from the Vikings…Simply bc that receiver understands how to play the position.

Build the roster and do what the Colts did with Manning. The Saints did with Brees. Give him weapons that are elite and let him cook.

Oh no, the team spent $750k more on Miles Sanders this season than the Eagles did on DeAndre Swift.

If only the Panthers hadn't spent less than $3M this season on their RB room. They could have spent $6M like the Eagles did. 🙃

I’m sure the fact that the Eagles have a veteran superbowl runner up QB and a ton of outside receiver threats had nothing to do with Swift running all over the stacked box Im sure he faced.

  17. They played basically nobody deep bc without DJC there is nobody that will take the top off the D. Young fit throws into tight windows all day and Bates basically sat down and dared our receivers to run by him. If Chark is out there it’s a completely different game.

Idk when the last time I thought that was…maybe Smitty and Delhomme days? Even with DJ all those years the QB was never good enough to make a difference. Give Young a deep threat and he’s going to be very good with open windows.
