  1. Hyped by who???

All I heard was we didn’t play anyone and they were gonna thrash us. Which they did, mainly in the 3rd. Granted, we caused a turnover that would have changed the trajectory of that game and we were robbed. Doesn’t mean we would have won, but it would have made a difference. It was a pivotal moment. We responded tho, but 3rd quarter was atrocious.

That no call was infuriating. Would've been a huge momentum shift for us and we would've been more comfortable heading into the second half with more confidence.

Pathetic reffing display again, but we gotta overcome it.

Facts. Like I said, it could have been the difference, but we will never know. We were still up going into half but got destroyed in the 3rd….so who knows? But it definitely gave Dallas a spark. Anyone who says it didn’t matter much doesn’t understand LIFE much less football.

We are exactly where I predicted before the regular season began, 3-1 with a loss to Dallas.
(Just to state again, that No Call was a load of crap and heavily favored Dallas. I’m still pissed.)

  3. The fumble (that was CLEARLY a fumble) no-call changed the trajectory of that game.

That being said, we were up 14-13 at the half. We got blown out in the 3rd. That’s on us. We need a better o-line. Darnold played better than he should have with this line.

  4. On Nate's take:

I think after their game against Philly stopping the run is our #1 priority. We are going to put it into Dak's hands and dare them to beat us through the air. With the pass rush we have, this has got to be the plan. Dak likes to get the ball out early, but I just don't see that happening with the way we mix up the blitz and coverage. If he tries to throw too early, he could find a defensive end sitting in that spot. Force Dak to hold it longer than he wants and go get him!

  5. Quote

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys - Loss (3-1). Our defense surprisingly does well against their offense, but our offense has an off day. Our rush defense is greatly improved and forces them to be one dimensional all day. The difference is the vet WRs make one more play against our rookie CBs to pull out the victory. Huddle implodes.

    L 20-17

I will not go with my projection before the season. After seeing the way our defense is playing as a whole, I believe we can win this game with 20 points. Even without CMC our offense is talented and I think we can put up enough points to win this game against a Dallas defense that (as far as I can tell) relies on turnovers as their line of defense. Darnold is playing above my expectations. He has done a very good job at protecting the football when he throws. We limit the mistakes, we win by 10.

    Panthers 27

    Cowboys 17

EDIT: SUPER BOWL PREDICTIONS - BROWNS vs RAMS (RAMS win 34-20)

  6. I keep throwing the stat out there because I think it is important. In the Dak Era, Cowboys are 26-0 when they run more than pass. So I think stopping their running game goes a long way. However, I feel like they may lean on the pass more from the jump just because of our defense. They can't afford to get stuffed. 3rd and long does not bode well for teams lined up against our defensive front. If we make them one dimensional this game is in the books.

Over the last couple seasons Dak is 11-1.....when facing the NFC Least. So yes, he is king of that scrap pile. Everyone is overreacting to their win over Philly. They have penciled them in as Super Bowl contenders. I think this game shows that they are not.

    Panthers - 27

    Cowboys - 17

  7. His first season I had zero expectation, thought the defense would be beyond horrible. Within a few games I started wondering if we could possibly improve and sneak into the playoffs or at least knock on the door.

His second season I had the expectations to win 9 or 10 games at best. Thought the D could possibly sneak in the top 10, top 15 at the very least. Now I honestly wonder if we could make it to the playoffs....could we win it all?

    In short. YES.

i really objectively don't blame them for being skeptical about how good we are. i think half our fanbase is still holding its breath waiting to see what happens when we face a serious challenger.

I don't blame them for being skeptical about us, but I blame them for NOT being skeptical about the Cowboys. Lol! They believe if they lose to us it's the Cowboys doing what they always do. (losing to an inferior team when they get on a roll) Rich Eisen basically said that if they lose to us they suck and the hype was never real.....

We have never trailed for a moment in this season so far. I am interested in seeing how Darnold plays from behind. Will he stay calm like he did versus the Texans and Saints in our last scoring drives, or will he revert to the guy who threw a "just gonna sit here and stare at the TV WHAT THE HECK did he just do" interception that he threw against the Saints?

As far as worrying about a serious challenger, I'm just holding my breath EVERY SNAP to see if our offensive line can play average/just adequately against any team.

  9. If I am not mistaken, I heard that Dak is like 1st in getting the ball out fast. Which can be good against an efficient pass rush. However, the fact that we have multiple different guys dropping back and you don't know who that is, getting the ball out too fast can be costly. I think Dak has to hold the ball longer than he wants too and we continue our 4 sacks a game.

  10. I am really excited to have him. One of the reasons is that he played mostly RB in high school So, once he gets the ball he has the mentality to score. I love that in a DB. Which is why I was screaming when Donte was just looking at Burris on that Winston interception. Like WHAT ARE YOU DOING DUDE?! BLOCK!

  11. I keep going back to them being 26-0 in the Dak Era when they run more than they pass. If they have rushing success, it will be close. I honestly don't believe they will get that. We held Kamara to 5 yards on 8 rushes. (30 yards overall) If they are forced to win by throwing, I don't think they will be within a touchdown at the end. Everyone talks about how we haven't played anyone, but what defense have they played against really? Tampa is not a great pass defense. See RAMS.

I honestly can't wait to for the cowboys game and for them to win and see what else these pundits have to say.

I can’t either! It’s driving me crazy right now how bad Philly looked. And they are crowning the Cowboys as NFC kings. Philly only scored 14 points on offense. They scored a TD on defense. I don’t believe our defense is worse. I think our front 7 will feast in this game. They do well when they have rushing success. (They are 26-0 during the Dak era when they run more than pass) I don’t see that working out for them.

I wonder if Sean Ryan is showing the same vids of the missed opportunities that Sam had to hit Robby with a big play?

There were quite a few of them through the games. (Not just to Robby either) There where a few where he was literally a second too late. If Sam cleans a few of those up, our offense will be very dangerous….even without CMC.

While trading Robby is a good deal for another team since he recently signed an extension. We would be taking a huge gamble on Smith and Marshall. Though Robbie hasn't had as many targets as we would like he is still a critical part of our offense.  #1 CBs are targeting Anderson which is leaving Moore in one on one situations.   Losing Robbie moves the double team to Moore and will leave two rookies and/or Zylstra to find openings in the defense.

As much as I hate to say it, I think we are going to have to ride this O-line as it is.  Hopefully, the Rookies step in and take over.  We've addressed the line in the draft and need our rookies to step in and contribute, rather sooner than later.

I completely agree with you. I don’t want to trade Robby, but i just don’t think trading Shi for a starting caliber lineman is gonna happen. Lol! If Shi was that good then I would keep him over Robby because of contract.

I'd trade Robby even though I like him if it gets us a quality OL, so I'm down with that idea. Before Fitty I would have said no one would give up anything valuable for shi or the likes of Daley, but poo man, the dude got something for Greg Little. Greg @#%ing Little! Nothing is beyond him. Do I think any of that is likely? Nah, but atm I'm enjoying the possibilities in a way that I never did under previous regimes. I think what's far more likely than a far fetched dream scenario I outlined fairly tongue in cheek is at most we're able to add one decent but not outstanding vet, and one of the two rookies proves up to holding down the fort at a spot for the second half of the season, and we finish up with an O line better than what we have now, but that is still only mediocre instead of bad. I see this being enough for us to get to the playoffs, but not make a lot of noise in them.

I agree with most of that. But I find it very unlikely he will get much out of a late round WR with zero regular season snaps, much less a decent o-line player. If he pulls that off then we can be sure he has some serious Watson level dirt on the GMs of the NFL.

  16. Kurt Warner broke it down really well on his YouTube channel. He showed a play where Shaq ran in and pushed the center to his right and then someone else came in around him. They are creating opportunities for one another to come thru without resistance. Shaq’s whole purpose on that play was to free up his teammate. That’s why you hear them talk about their teammates being unselfish.

Panthers have the #1 rushing defense in the league currently.

Dallas excelling on Run-Block Win Rate. Will be a stiff challenge for our rushing defense. Really may be THE key factor in the game.

Shutting down the Dallas run game would give incredible legitimacy to the Panthers D.

AGREED, as Dallas is 4th in rushing behind BAL, CLE, & TEN.
