How do Stroud's balls taste? Or does the flavor change depending on the day?
Good because he’s so accurate with them..

Both Justin Fields and Troy Smith had better careers at Ohio State. And Dwayne Haskins' was comparable. They all failed (and Fields is underperforming as a passer so far). Ohio State puts out great NFL talent... Except at QB. Because the scheme doesn't ask much of them. So their stats are inflated. Denying that is denying the reality of the structure.
Alright …
Breaking this down..
1. Troy Smith , Dwayne Haskins played for different coaches in a completely different system. How does that equate??
2.
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/justin-fields-2.htmlvs
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/troy-smith-1.html
vs
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/dwayne-haskins-1.html
vs
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/cj-stroud-1.html
Did you even looked at the numbers before posting that opinion?? It’s not even close.. CJ produced 40 tds years twice none of these guys did that..
Not comparable..
3. Texas Tech didn’t produce QB until they did..
LSU didn’t produce a QB until they did..
Oregon didn’t produce QB’s until they did..
Bama last QB before this lastest run was Namath..
If you’re going to have this basis opinion about not taking QB from certain schools then where do you get QBs from?? Where is the QB school that produces great QB all the time or consistent enough for your liking??

He does make bad decisions. Fortunately for him, college defenses aren't pro defenses. So while he throws a pass into double coverage and the safety mistimes the break on the receiver for what would be a pick (maybe even a pick 6), he looks like he is making a great play. But throw that same ball on Sunday? Reality will hit hard. And I don't think he has shown that he knows how to adapt his game to veer too far off script. The Georgia game was the exception, but even then he left plays on the field. And he played as hard as he did in that game because it had real weight to it. But I don't see that as being a weekly effort.
He is robotic. And he plays the game like he is on auto pilot. He doesn't willingly or easily adapt to turbulence.
Going over this..
This person didn’t watch any UM game, Maryland this year ND 1st game of the season Penn State last year or the Utah bowl game last year..
And if 300 + passing yards and 4 tds with no run game is leaving plays on the field then a lot of QB leave plays on the field..
The rest are if’ and buts strawman argument..
“if the safety doesn’t make a misstep if the CB was longer if The LB had a better drop”” Can be said on every play on Sunday.. All that is “strawman” excuses to dis credit a player you don’t like.. 2 years of if this would have and if that would have happened ended with a player producing 85 TD 8,000 plus yards a 70% comp rate and 12 ints..

Ok. We'll see. The NFL isn't the Big 10. And Ohio State quarterbacks have continued to learn that the hard way.
Neither is SEC, ACc, PAC 20, MAC, Mountain west, Whatever Norte Dame is doing none are the NFL.. And I promise you IF Harrison JR was available “the nfl isn’t the big 10 wouldn’t come out your keyboard”..
Lastly if we’re doing the dumbass OState QB thing then where is QB U then.. Bama, Clemson, Texas tech, ??? Hell BiG blue got the greatest of all time as a graduate.. So Macarthy should definitely be a target right??
lmao

It's not going to happen, but I wouldn't be upset either way. There are three quarterbacks who deserve to go #1 overall.

Analyst have been saying since the beginning this isn’t a great draft for number 1 prospects.. This draft was s full of Slot WR and 3rd and 4th option type WR prospects..
-
Stroud will be good where ever he goes.. He isn’t a mental midget he has battled hard times most his life and he has stepped up his game in big game.. He has worked hard to have a flawless passing structure from his legs to his upper body.. He is tough can read defenses accurate as fug and rarely makes bad decisions or mistakes.. You call him structure because he has worked hard to make it look that way..

I will just go ahead and say what I have thought for a while. CJ Stroud played from a Mr Clean pocket in every game he played outside of Georgia. He had ridiculous weapons and an OL that let him sit back and be very comfortable. He has a bust factor and isn’t nearly the finished product people are describing.
His team lost nearly all of his “show me” games. He is going to struggle if he goes to a bad team. He has never seen that scenario in his life
He didn’t vs UM, twice ND 1st game last year and Penn state last year.. And They didn’t lose because of him..

What about coaching the last two years and a program that hasn't had any juice since....when exactly, Spurrier? That's why I put Will Levis, Anthony Richardson and even Matt Corral in the category of player who with NFL talent instead of middle of the road college casts around them, could be equal or better than the more hyped guys from big time programs like Ohio State and Alabama.
Yeah I forgot Gus Melzon is a coaching genius.. SMH
Im done debating this.. To many excuses and nothing else..

I think they will go edge with the second round pick, but they could draft OL for a starting G (TCU kid) or CB. When you consider that, for the most part, the days 1 and 2 picks have a chance to start or be key contributors, we'd be very lucky to get 2 players after QB. I would say that WR is now less likely to be a day 2 pick--
Edge
G
CB
(that is how I see it)
Been saying this.. Go edge or inside LB then CB or guard

1990 is on the other line, they said circus elephants couldn't carry the Florida Gators.
Okay!!
Cam carried a team with 1 drafted player to a national championship.. So if Florida gets more then 2 drafted this year.. They could’ve been carried by a better player…

I should have clarified, if you were to trade the pick today which QB's would you trade for right now making the pick.
My answer would be in this order:
1. Mahomes
2. Joe Burrow
3. Josh Allen
4. Justin Herbert
Outside of them the question becomes a little tougher.
But other possibilities would have to be.
Jackson, just iffy on him because of his injury history and how he's been during free agency this year.
Lawrence, I have not seen more than a couple of his games and his stats so far don't seem to support the hype around him.
Hurts, I loved what he did during that playoff run. However that's my only exposure to him and he his stats aren't amazing either.
Okay..
Ill go
Mahomes
Burrows
Herbert
Allen
Lawrence
Jackson
Hurts

Person says the Panthers wouldn't be expected to take Richardson at #1, but could consider him a possible option If they traded down to #2 (which is apparently still on the table).
Joe still believes it will probably be Young or Stroud either way.
I’m glad you added the 2 nd part because some media outlets decided to run with this without the major caveat..

Okay.. I would say it’s more advanced then Mahomes coming out of Texas Tech and before Andy Reid’s coaching.. While Luck was a higher level prospect then both..

Bryce processing and plays off script are on Luck’s level..

Context question??
Is it just the number 1 pick and it’s for our team as constructed now??
-
I like them both and they have been the best at their positions since HS.. Elite 11, state championship, college, and Heismen.. Both have been there competing against each other and both have been at the top because of their intelligence, work ethic and skill..
jmo I don’t think you go wrong with either 1..
