  1. There is a huge difference between good job and exceptional job!

You right, TRich was suppose to be a stud and he wasn't! It goes like that sometimes. No matter how much homework staffs do, players are human and not machines!

    They change!

Stewart is good, sometimes exceptional, and often injured! We have established that we can't cut him because financial impact(thanks to your boy clinging to the little talent we had), doesn't mean he gets a free penciled in place at starter!

Stewart goes out, we pass on Coleman in 2nd and Fozzy avg 1.8ypc! Huddle will crash

Not if we get Buck Allen or Langford in the 4th who are just as good as Coleman. ..

  2. Not disputing that you can get stud RBs in late Rds. I just want the stud player regardless of his position! This year appears to be a good class for RBs. A lot of mocks have first rd worthy RBs going in 2 and 3, again back to your positional devaluation trend. The fan mocks we post, most have us taking an RB in 2 or 3 round and you chime in saying "waste pick."

I posted the OT vs RB bit to illustrate the probability of getting a stud tackle goes down after first 45 picks. The players I listed were 3 pro bowlers vs 3 mediocre at their positions. All the pro bowlers were running backs!

I challenge you to look up the drafts of the last 8 years and tell me the likelihood of us getting a Stud OT, much less a stud LT, after pick 57! Not saying it can't happen, just what are the odds that it could?

Bellichek has figured out that 25% percent of his picks are contributing players! If you need 3, then make sure you have 12 picks. Probability and statistics play a big part in the draft as it should.

Oh I don't think we're getting a starter quality LT at 25 unless we're lucky... We might get a young RT...we can develop but not a day 1 starter at LT..

My opinion is we will find more value in WR( which we need) Secondary (which we need) or Dline (which you can never have enough of) in the 1st and 2nd if we don't like any of the OT.. all are better value than a RB...

  3. Ok, you are arguing the point that we should reach for a T, no matter what. I don't really have to see us draft a RB. I just don't want us drafting a reach of a tackle when players with Pro Bowl potential are on the board.

Regardless of the position, you want to draft the most talented player at their position. If there comes a day where we need a position upgrade and we have multiple studs at a position the we can trade for what we need, but you can't get to be that way drafting for need! If Gman can implement his will, in 5 years, we will have more trade transactions than any other team! We will also be the most stacked talent wise!

Now, my wet dream is we draft 8 starters this year with 2 OT's among those 8. However, history defies the odds of getting 2 starting OT's in the same draft.

My point behind taking Gordon or Coleman, what if they are studs and they can be! If JStew is our no.2 RB because we have a better RB than him, then we are a better team. If our "committee" consist of 2 pro bowl caliber RB's then we are set and in the biggest way being, not having to offer outrageous contracts to keep what little talent we have

My opinion is none of these RB'S well (maybe Gurley) is all world talent that you have to have.. I think RB is a position that you can get a player rated lower than the top guys and still get the same impact.. Thank you for mentioning Alfred Morris (6th round pick)... who clearly makes my point.. I think a back like Langford, Allen, or Robinson can have the same impact as Gordon or Abdullah for us...

  4. 2011:

    Marcus Gilbert or Demarco Murray?

    2012:

    Bobby Massie or Alfred Morris?

    2013:

    Terron Armstead or Eddie Lacy?

Best OT vs Best RB after pick 57! Which players add talent to our team?

Massie and Armstead would be starting at OT.. And for a team needing starting quality OT they would add more value.. to us..

  5. Two problems with the logic in your statement.

    1. Just because someone is paid too much doesn't mean they start. If the rookie were to outperform, you bench your overpriced veteran. I actually think Stew I'd still one of the best when healthy, however that seems to be quite rare lately. Also history dictates a dropoff in performance from a RB stew's age soon.

Furthermore, he could be cut next year if needed, although I think his performance won't warrant it. If the rookie is the real deal, make him the backup this year and split the snaps next year to keep stew fresh.

    2. This common theme that you don't draft a RB in the first three rounds is nonsense. If it were true, none of the 32 teams would draft a running back before round 3. Are there gems in round 4+? Absolutely, but for every gem, how many busts or simple backups? What about the ratio for running backs taken early?

A healthy Stew is one of the better backs in the league and his dead money is outrageous the next 2 season. . So yes cutting him any sooner will hurt bad..

A lot of teams are devaluing the RB position. . We are now on a watch to see if one will be drafted in the 1st round every year now..

I just don't want to put resources into a devalued position. . All the new rules are to help the passing game.. We need to be able to take advantage of that..

Last if you build a good oline you can get a Blount off the trash heep and win..

  6. Stewart has been injury prone and is pushing 30. Fizzy is decent and Tolbert wasn't exceptional last year. A young future starter would be great. He'd probably go in the first round most years.

Stew is 27 and we are paying him too much money in the next 2 years to cut him..So no matter the injury concerns he will be the starter if healthy. . And like I said we don't need to draft a future starter in the 1st 3 rounds.. RB position can be filled by later round picks... and it's the easiest position to come in and make a impact 1st year..

  7. Some people just don't get it.........................

I'll say it again. He made a choice that night to party, and put himself in a situation with "cocaine" in his home. It doesn't matter if he is innocent or guilty of assault. The fact that he "put" himself in that situation, brought on the police, the charges, and the court case. IT ALSO brought into the national spotlight the Panther Organization. Big Cat made a decision to pay him, and now they will go separate ways. As for the business organization and what it is saying is "keep yourself out of dumbass situations". The choice is yours. If you do it ...you will not be a Panther.

I find it crazy to judge people on the mistake of hanging with the wrong person..it screams of hypocritical thinking..Yes he should be wise on who he's spending time with.. but many men here and thru out history have let a woman impaired their judgment. .
