He can’t break tackles at all. Which is so strange bc he’s supposed to be so big and fast.
-
Very fair criticism imo. Team opted for nickle corners, 8th string DTs and special teams players over OL and WR. We sign a DT to a 20+ million contract every free agency then still draft one over Jerry rices kid. Unbelievable

I mean, Jonathan Brooks had 1 year of college production. No one cares about that. I just don't see the reason mattering. Not doing is not doing. XL had a dominant season out of the SEC on a meh offense where everyone knew he was the dude to get the ball. Mingo had several decent seasons. I'd take the dominant guy at the end over consistently okay.
Only knock I got Leggette, is I'm not sure Bryce is the style of QB to really get the most out of what he offers.
Again different position and I think you already know this so idk why I’m wasting my time responding but there’s 2-3 starting wrs and only 1 starting rb. Brooks just turned 21 and was stuck behind a top 10 rb on the depth chart. Why you’re comparing a 5th year breakout wr szn to a 3rd year breakout rb szn I have no idea

i remember a certain QB who only had one year of NCAA starting experience getting drafted early and he did alright.
Completely different position and not a 5th year starter lol. Let’s not be disingenuous now. Early breakout age is one of the best predictive metrics for wr success in the nfl. 5th year breakouts are already rare as it is and even more rare are ones that pan out in the league. You can like XL while acknowledging his success would be a massive outlier

you're about to see one.
After going back through 2021 I was able to find 2 semi comparable college careers: velus jones didn’t do poo until his 5th year and Toney didn’t do anything until his 4th year. Perhaps more optimistic comps further back
-
Can someone please provide examples of 5th year college wrs who did nothing their first 4 years panning out in the league?

Not getting weaver was disappointing. Coker is good too. Idk. Just all around disappointing that we didn’t take advantage of a deep wr class

You need different style WRs for different plays and routes. Having the same type is doable but limits the offense. Who is our red zone target with Ladd and DJ? Who is stretching the defense on deep routes and keeping them honest? Who is winning the 50/50 jump balls? DC wants XL to be our smaller version of Evans or Metcalf from the offenses he was part of.
What is Mingo? None of the above. When did I say we couldn’t have multiple wr archetypes? Yall just keep saying DJ means no other separators which is so stupid

I liked Ladd a lot but the reality is We already had the route runner and separator in Dionte Johnson. We didn’t have the take the top off the defense jump ball huge catch radius type player that Leggete seems to be.
This argument is so bogus. NFL teams aren’t limited to 1 separator on each team. The more the merrier, as they say. Just bc we have DJ does not mean we have to have a bunch of other WRs that can’t get open

Ok, didn’t give up anything really, dropped our 5th to a 6th. I guess they were afraid of the Bills taking him. I’m fine with him. Now gimme JPJ or Cooper or a CB at 39
The bills clearly didn’t want him. We literally traded with the bills

its not that high. Cards got a great offer last year. II would say a 4+ this year or ideally, an extra 3 next year. 1st round is really where u should trade down bc the offers are so juicy. Some teams will even give up future 1s that turn into the 1st overall pick
-
barely met with any 1st round projections. As players always fall, would hope we met with more fringe 1st round players. Worthy would be great. Lots of guys missing that would be on my wish list. Guess we may be trading back based on this

Loved the testing profile. Film? Not so much

I’m sold. 33 it is

Would love this guy, but will he still be on the board?
I feel like a lot of these WRs will be off the board by the time we pick.
Buffalo/KC/Dallas are teams that could go WR at the end of the 1st.
0 mocks with XL in the first. Wonder why

You don't have to "respect" the man's takes, but you (as "you" in general) so don't have to make decidedly cheeky and unrelated remarks. It's childish to be perfectly honest.
No idea how I’m being childish. Regardless, not sure anyone has ever called someone childish and not appeared hypocritical in doing so.

Such hate.
I should've known.
Can't even respect the kid's father? I'd say that he raised a fine young man.
Why do we have to respect his nfl takes? We don’t even respect ex scouts in the nfl, but have to respect someone’s dad’s takes? If you want to say respect everyone, then fine, but I fail to see why Bryce dad deserves special treatment

I never said they were intentionally tanking. But the Tepper Panthers have been tanking since he arrived.
“Tanking” means sucking on purpose to build up draft capital and or $
sounds like you just mean “sucking”

Panthers have been half tanking since Tepper arrived. Don’t see how this is a hot take.
Tanking teams don’t trade away 1s

I think everyone was relieved there was a chance of anything besides Ian Thomas like you said. It's that old Ian Thomas PTSD kicking in. I have some of it myself as well. I would probably get excited about any TE signing at this point.
Yeah but we had Tommy T on the roster? It usually takes TEs time to develop and has historically been one of the slower developing positions. Why hinder TT’s development further by overpaying a JAG? Just cause? I’d rather have bad TEs for cheap than bad TEs for real $

I dont even remember that many people going crazy excited over his signing in all honesty
Maybe it’s bc I’ve thought hurts sucked for years but everyone seemed stoked we were getting him. 0 talent eval just “omg its not Ian Thomas !”

I disagree. On paper this is one of the best and deepest wr drafts there has been. Its a perfect time to need a wr and not have a pick before 33.
There’s literally no perfect time to be the worst team in the league without your first pick. What a wild thing to say
