  1. You're not exactly going to get Calvin Johnson or Dez Bryant in the second rd.

So you gotta give a little to get a little (actually a funch more) IMO!!

If he's as good as Gettleman believes he is, then you will be a very happy Panther fan several months from now--entering the 2015 season.

Yeah I know, it's just that KB has a drop issue too and so does Ginn. Hopefully KB has improved on that in the offseason and hopefully so has Fun. And I'm sure the good does it way the bad I would just love a Fitzgerald type wr. Or in a dream world Steve in his prime [emoji3]

  2. Why?

You didn't really say anything just stated the obvious. I was expected some players u though we should get and why or something. You basically just said there were players available.

  3. I like the pick, but hate we gave up a 3rd to get it.

This is pretty much my opinion. I like the pick(though I really don't know much about him), but I hate how we gave up a third. Especially when DG said how important it was to keep ur picks in the first 3 rounds. We really should've tried to give a 4th and 5th. Maybe we did, but damn a third is a lot. And as for funchess, I hear he has a drop issue just like KB. Which worries me. We don't need 2 wrs which a case of the dropsies. Lots of upside though

  4. So you don't like Thomas Davis either? Thompson is the same type of player TD was when we drafted him. I see him as TD 2.0. Can't get better than that.

Did TD play 3 positions? I don't see where else I would've alluded to the fact I don't like TD. Every year people say someone is smitty 2.0, just bc u think he is TD 2.0 doesn't mean he is. And for the record, I love TD, just bought a jersey of his last year. Great player on and off the field. Doesn't change the fact this guys plays 3 positions and that seriously hurst his performance at each one individually

  5. Not a fan of the pick, but I also didn't like the Beason or Luke picks at the time.

Would've really really liked Landon Collins.

This. I don't like the pick and I feel like Collins is a much better SS. But I also didn't like the the luke pick at all. Just have to give it time. Although I did think luke was a great lb. I can't say the same about Thompson. I think he has good instincts but neutered himself by playing three positions.

  6. This has honestly been the worst offseason I can remember in my years as a Panthers fan. Free agency was comprised of a bunch of lateral moves that didn't improve the losing team we had last year, and we just spent the most important resource we had left on a fringe 2nd round rotational/ST player.

Guy must've impressed in interviews, which is clearly the most important element of the scouting process to this tea,. Lose with class.

Were you not here last offseason? Like seriously?

  7. Crazy both TD and Shaq himself went out of their way to point out that Shaq is faster than a 4.6 forty when that is what the other All-Pros Shaq compares to ran at their Combines:

    4.63 - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    4.64 - Shaq Thompson

    4.65 - Lavonte David All-Pro

    4.66 - Thomas Davis

    4.69 - Kam Chancellor All-Pro

as for the rest of the measurables:

    Size:

    6-2/234 - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    6-1/233 - OLB Lavonte David All-Pro

    6-3/231 - SS Kam Chancellor All-Pro

    6-1/230 - OLB Thomas Davis

    6-0/228 - Shaq Thompson

225 Lb. Bench Reps (upper body strength):

    22 - Kam Chancellor

    20 - Shaq Thompson

    19 - Lavonte David All-Pro

    15 - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    DNP - Thomas Davis

    Broad Jump (lower body strength):

    09'11" - Lavonte David All-Pro

    09'10" - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    09'09" - Shaq Thompson

    09'08" - Kam Chancellor All-Pro

    09'07" - Thomas Davis

3-Cone Drill (which many scouts consider the most important):

    6.99 - Shaq Thompson

    7.09 - OLB Thomas Davis

    7.28 - OLB Lavonte David All-Pro

    7.30 - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    7.36 - SS Kam Chancellor All-Pro

    20 Yrd Shuttle (sideline-to-sideline speed)

    3.97 - Thomas Davis

    4.08 - Shaq Thompson

    4.22 - Lavonte David All-Pro

    4.40 - ILB C.J. Mosley All-Pro

    4.41 - Kam Chancellor All-Pro

Very informative post, surprised no one else pied it honestly. But I digress, I haven't looked into Shaq much but the fact that he plays 3 positions scares me honestly. I would've liked to see him focus on defense in college and leave the playing on both O and D stuff in high school. Of course that doesn't mean he won't be a great lb just be he plays other stuff, but it does mean other lb have spent more time training to be a lb. the praise from TD means a lot but it could just be a
