Apparently Waddell said today that the Aho extension is close and that they are working on Skjei, he was asked about Pesce and kind of deflected.

After adding Tarasenko I think we may see Pesce moved (probably for prospects and picks) and then we’ll see the TDA trade go through.

    Bunting - Aho - Tarasenko

    Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Necas

    Teravainen - Staal - Fast

    Noesen - Martinook - Jarvis

    Drury

    Slavin - Burns

    Orlov - Chatfield

    Skjei - DeAngelo

    Coghlan

    Andersen

    Raanta

    Kochetkov

Not gonna lie. That lineup is giving me a little bit of a sports boner. Orlov and Chatty…. Look Out!  Everyone stays healthy the Canes are gonna be fun to watch.

For the cap space people, the Canes have around $14M in cap space with the following roster and around $11.5M with TDA factored in.

    Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis

    Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Necas

    Martinook - Staal - Fast

    Drury - Ponomarev - Noesen

    Rees

    Slavin - Burns

    Skjei - Pesce

    Chatfield - Coghlan

    Andersen

    Raanta

    Kochetkov

So we need to find a LH 7th defenseman, figure out what’s going on with Pesce, extend Aho, and sign some forwards.

    is Orlov a lefty?

Yeah I would definitely would have rooted for them. Not sure I can even watch it.

Yes I’m still not over it.

You’re not the only one. The season ended for me when it ended for the Canes.  Hope it’s a good series for the peeps watching it though!

As Someone like myself that has had conversations about adoption this hits home. What a fantastic guy. Also speaking of Jacob would you argue that he’s our best player? Maybe our most important player?

     Yes to both.

Don’t know if this is normally done in hockey with him being a defensemen, but I think he should wear the C on his sweater when Stall hangs it up.

  5. Such a cool story and he is a special human being. It’s why I got so pissed he got headhunted the other night.

My 4 kids are all adopted. It’s the hardest and favorite part of my life. It’s also the reason I only get to 1 or 2 games a year, haha.

I agree, this team played hard and through a lot of adversity in this series and lost by one goal each game with almost every ticky tack call going against them, all the injuries, playing two guys who were or would have been in the AHL (Mac and Drury) if we were healthy....nah I am not down on the team at all.

Ghost was pretty bad in the ECF, he doesn't deserve to get a big $$$ contract but he will it just won't be from us.  Pool Party doesn't know what he's supposed to be, I think Edmonton fugged him up.  I think he needs to learn to play some good D with his size and be a third liner with some scoring potential.  He looked lost in our "system."

Patches and Svech and good health for our other players would have made this series different.  Just bad luck!

And as much as I’ve cussed out goalies this season, they did their jobs in the playoffs.  We’re getting some roster spots opening with Gardiner and Kane most likely gone.  We do have to improve the power play, whether it’s a coaching change or with personnel.  I would like to see us get some size over the off-season too.  Svech and Burns of those guys, but id like to see one more body that could hand it back to these physical teams

Boy this team sure sucked a fat one in the ECF......................again.

I just don’t agree.  We lost this series by 4 goals. Our boys were hit, punched, and kicked and they kept fighting. They continued to show grit and determination.  I know the history, and trust me I’m pissed at the situation, but this team didn’t suck.

  8. Well boys it’s been fun this season.  We’re down two goals and the gooned the best defensive player out of the game.  This team has climbed mountains, but this one looks like a walk to the moon. Here’s to regrouping, staying healthy, and kissing the cup in ‘24.

Saw a story online that the Canes are restricting ticket sales to people with zip codes in NC, SC, and part of VA. After FL wouldn't allow sales to Canadian folks.

The Canes did this for the 2nd round.  I got the warning about it when I bought my tickets.

Again, he was here for half a season. And, yeah, I get he might not have appreciated RBA's approach to the game, that's his loss. Had he gotten onboard and committed to the system, he might still be here with a really nice career instead of bouncing from one place to the next.

But, it all seems petty at this point. After all, it was a few years ago.

Yup. I was just answering the question of what did she say.  The hurricanes handled the situation fine.

Haula’s our bitch, so he can act however he wants. He was out for blood during the Nashville series and for that I will always celebrate his on-ice misery.

In all honesty, I don't understand why Canes fans have such a dislike for the guy. It's not like he told everyone to fug off and wanted out. He played 41 total games for Carolina and the Canes gave up Oscar Plandowski and Nicholas Roy. Within 8 months the Canes traded him to Florida for one Vincent Trocheck in February 2020.

The Canes were on the best end of both deals and Haula contributed 22 points in those 41 games. He was a rental.

WTF, peeps, he's playing his game and having a good career. Let the man be.

I think it had to do with him being a goon during the Nashville series a few years ago. Don’t blame him for playing with a chip on his shoulder, but that’s why IMO.
