Now do this for Trevor Lawrence rookie season and realize how dumb you sound to non-reactionaries
Yep. Over and over in the last game they showed our WRs being blanketed while Bryce was getting very little time to get the ball off.

aside from this offseason when i bought the hype (and i'm totally fine with having finally feeling that optimism for just a moment even though it fell apart) i think i haven't really been stoked since 2015. that was a hard loss for me and i'm not sure i ever recovered from it.
I feel you. Same here

Every year, unfortunately

NC State has defeated a number of good NFL QBs. They're never good enough to compete nationally or even for the acc title, but they are good enough to absolutely surprise a team or two almost every year. Maye is 6'4" with a cannon. He's gonna be good on Sundays.
Yeah, kind of like Mitch Trubisky.

The biggest pro to Harbaugh would be he would want full control. I trust Harbaugh with full control over any part of this front office. It’s genuinely hard to fathom things getting worse with a totally huddle run front office.
Hmmm…you might be on to something. Should we throw our name in the hat?

Or package Burns+ Bryce+ this year's 3rd for top 2 pick. If you get a bite. Gimme Maye all day. Bears will take Williams. Pats could bite. Hard reset with a prototype rookie QB.
Maye can’t even beat NCState. Give me a break.

Flipside: That's only a good thing if Tepper hires the right guy
Very true

Jones mentioned speculation that we'll be everyone's "leverage job"
One good thing for the new coach, and I heard this from an analyst, the next coach is unlikely to be fired in year 1. With the negative press Tepper has received, he will likely give the next coach a little more time. Of course, this IS Tepper we are talking about, so who knows.

That sounds like Johnson, honestly.
I think he will be every team’s number 1 candidate

This makes some sense...
The best coach for Bryce Young is the one who will establish the run and play good defense so we don’t have to play catch up all game.

Incredibly impressive performance given all the injuries and the inept offense. He did the same last year with Denver.

I've explained it multiple times how he brings a lot of it on himself - but you continue to ignore it.
He is a rookie, dude. You continue to ignore that many HOF QBs don’t start well.

So we're fuged then.
Tepper doesn't understand that Young is part of the problem, isn't going to fire Fitterer and is going to hire another yes man as HC.
Worst owner in the NFL.
Did you not just read that Young is on pace to be sacked the 4th most in NFL history? How do you expect any QB to be successful in that situation, with not WRs getting open to boot. I know it’s a hard concept for some of you, but wake up.

I was on board with it, but not at the price it would take.

100% agree with this and it’s why I’m not sold on Ben Johnson. He may be that team builder we need, I’m not sure. But I wouldn’t hire anyone else just based on how their offense did. This is why I’m on board with Harbaugh (I was last year, too) and even willing to consider Bill Belicheck, though he wouldn’t be my first choice.
That’s why things worked so well initially with John Fox and Ron. They came in and changed the culture and the mindset. They got people believing in themselves and the man next to them. Makes you also wonder how things would have gone with Wilks. It also makes me wonder how Evero might do. I’d strongly consider him for the job.

Harbaugh is my #1 for all the reasons you all mention. He is exactly who we need right now. Someone who will tell Tepper to “shut up and watch me build a winning culture”.

And they all have more Draft capital to go after their guy.
It's clear by now that Bryce Young isn't the guy, bar some Hollywood ending turn around in his career.
Just like it was clear that all the HOFers with rough rookie seasons were lost causes

Some of you need to study the RPO a little more.

One of the most attractive things about the Panthers job is that there are zero top notch teams/QBs in the division at the moment. Once the ball gets rolling in the right direction, a coach could be successful here for a long time. Whichever of the NFCS teams gets coach and QB right will be dominant. I still think that QB might be Bryce, but it’s too early to tell. Either way, we need to get coach right this time.

Tepper is going to have to settle for scraps. No one with name recognition is coming here.
We need to build for 3-4 years before we have the talent to do anything.
We will see. When that checkbook comes out, people tend to get convinced.

I actually agree with this, but feel that BY could be deadly in a quick strike offense. Brady was masterful at hitting precise targets to WR running timing routes. He did not have the biggest arm, but he was incredibly accurate. BY has the skillset, precision and brain, to pull that off.
A 6’7” HOF Tight End wouldn’t hurt either.
Yep

Time for Tepper to swallow his pride and hire someone with fire in his belly to win. Certain coaches have the innate ability to motivate teams. That is why I want Harbaugh. He has a proven track record of doing it.
-
1. Harbaugh - I dont care how weird he is. He wins. Give me some of that for awhile.
2. Johnson - would be a good story and he turned Goff into a winner.
3. Evero - he was high on my list last year.

The Bryce hate has gotten absurd
in Carolina Panthers
Posted
Bryce has been sacked 44 times due to the horrid play calling, poor pass blocking, lack of a running game, and WRs who don't get open. His number are STILL better than Trevor Lawrence in the same amount of time in the NFL. I don't expect simple-minded people to comprehend that it is too early to give up on him, though.
