Not a Tepper sympathizer at all, but if a coach demonstrated they knew what they were doing and you could see some progress, he’d probably back off a little. A huge issue is we looked so inept under Reich.
Exactly. He gave Rhule too much breathing room. He has to find the right balance, but most importantly the right coach.

He was supposed to be able to overcome that, along with WRs who couldn’t get open, and a scheme that sucked.

Don’t really see the “brighter future” part.

Interesting, I figure this would be bigger news if he was impacting the search in a negative way. He's a hot topic, surprised it's the first hints or whatever.
Likely more of an assumption based on his track record.

Hard to argue with Shanahan. He has taken the 49ers far with mid level QBs

I agree. However, this love for an OC coach bothers me. There aren’t too many Shanahans around the league. I would rather go after a good defensive coordinator than a good Offensive coordinator, but the cupboard is a bit bear this time. I’ll be honest Harbaugh is the best Home Run hire of a generation. Belichick would at least get us competitive. I really don’t love any of the coordinators this time. Johnson is ok, but not a home run. If we can’t get Harbaugh, Belichick, or Johnson we should just promote Evero
Agree with this. The Ravens DC is intriguing, but he would have to beat out Evero in my mind if your first 3 turn us down. Also, it’ll blow my mind if we don’t interview Harbaugh.

The first interview is virtual, correct?

Sorry, but if you are interviewing this year’s Panthers OC, that screams Rooney Rule interview. It sure wasn’t because of production.

Panthers reportedly interviewing Cowboys DC Dan Quinn on Wednesday
After that I’m embarrassment, I wouldn’t interview Dan Quinn for water boy.

Bobby Slowick has gotta be at the top of the list, right? Right? RIGHT?!?!?
Definitely helping his case

You never know how good they are until they start coaching.

Some betting site listed him as the odds favorite, but my guess is they are going off the fact he interviewed twice last year. I doubt they have any legit info.
I sure hope not.

If the Patriots promote from within with Mayo, where is the market for Vrabel? I am still extremely interested in him.
Patriots hiring Mayo would be good for us IMO.

If Atlanta gets Ben Johnson I’m gonna be pissed
Sounds like they are more likely to go after BB

We're hard up for picks. Think we'd take a second for him?
No way we get offered that.

Defense was impressive considering the holes they were put in.

If the Panthers hire a defensive HC, they should just stick with Evero
I would do that before I'd hire some on the current interview list, for sure. Evero is definitely in my top 3-4.
Harbaugh
Johnson
Evero OR MacDonald

Listened to WFNZ this morning…seems like the consensus is Head Coach will be hired first, which is the more modern approach, I guess. Seems like hierarchy was a huge issue this year, so not sure why we wouldn’t shoot for the GM first. Prolly because Tepper wants to have the say, like the selfish narcissist he is.
Bassackwards, like most things he does.

Vrabel anyone? Titans let him go.

I find it very, very odd to start listing issues with other teams as an argument as to why Carolina is more appealing.Carolina is probably the worst landing spot not just of available teams today, but for the past two decades. And coaches know it.
But if we were just talking about teams with HC openings this season, the Chargers, by far and away, have the most appealing opening.
Depends on what you want.

I heard him called a non-stoner Mike McDonald. Brilliant mind and very personable. I’m very intrigued. What he did to the Browns defense was impressive.
That said, I don’t understand the lack of interest in Harbaugh, other than Tepper being an idiot.
