Reich's last game they lost 26 to 3 to the Patriots. The team had 121 total yards.  They lost 17 to 16 to the Commanders. They were 3-5-1 and in the bottom 5 in offense and that's with Matt Ryan.

Now Matt Ryan is washed but he is better then anything we had in the last 3 years.

You guys act like he is the second coming.

Ron Rivera was 76-67-1 and went to a superbowl....would he be a good hire? Would you want him back? Because by every metric he is a better and more accomplished coach then Reich.

By any metric Reich's failures this year was worse then Wilks.

Now you guys can live in the past and say Reich was great when he had a great QB....well no fugging shiit.

All coaches are great with a great QB.  But I get it...he did great 2 seasons ago so statistically he must be a better coach then a guy performing better then him today.

Nope because Ron is a defensive coach and just like Wilks, despite the "Riverboat Ron" nickname, plays and has played too conservatively in key moments of games. This has been a common thing in this team's history and one of the major reasons why Tepper would want to try and see what an offensive minded coach can do for us. Again, Wilks had a chance but playing conservatively hurt his chances and is a reason why Tepper would possibly prefer to go with Reich over him.

The team was abysmal. Taking a team from abysmal worst in the league to average is an outstanding jump. Guy won more games in 12 games then the previous asshat Tepper hired did in 2 years.

He did good getting to 6-6 no doubt about that HOWEVER anytime we played a game where we couldn't run the ball we just looked lost entirely. Combine that with Wilks playing conservatively in that Tampa Bay game (punting on 4th and 1 at midfield in an absolutely MUST win game) and then that 10-7 game against the Saints and it hurt his chances tremendously. Wilks earned himself an interview and as a result he got 2 of them with us. He would have very likely been the choice had he shown some aggression with the season on the line.

Two posters have said today that they are done with the Panthers if we were to hire Sean Payton. I don't know if I believe they'd actually walk away from being a fan though. So the question is simple ... is there anything the team could realistically do that would make you say bye?

I'll always be a fan. However, Jake's meltdown back in the day turned me from a rabid Panthers fan into the calm almost casual fan I am today.

I could see myself drop one tier lower though, which probably means not watching every game and not even bothering to know who our starters are.

    What would that be?

    HC: Wilks

    DC: Holcomb

    OC: McAdoo or Brian Johnson

    1st Round Pick: Anthony Richardson

    What say you, Huddle?

If the team were to move outside the Carolinas or if they try to remove the connection of the team to both Carolinas like I've some NC fans arrogantly wishing for. Outside of that, it'd be hard for me to think of something. There likely are some scenarios but I can't picture them right now.

  4. A lot of people were saying how much they hated Roman Harper for being an asshole when he was with the Saints and that changed once he was in a Panther uniform. Payton is an asshole, no doubt about that, but he is also one hell of a coach. I'd be open to have him as a coach as long as the price is right. If they are willing to take some kind of package bundling some of those CMC trade picks I'd be all for it but if they want pick 9 I'd likely pass.

That has to be an NFL record, but since this fanbase thrives on meaningless victories, let's praise him for making normal kicks after

Jon Kasay , one of our best and most reliable kickers in history, practically kicked us to the superbowl in 02,  was crucified for kicking out of bounds in the final moments of the superbowl, like those 20 yards would have made a difference to Brady and Welker against a tired D, but let's forgive a choke artist who got a 2nd chance and still missed , and how many games did we miss the div title by, that's right, 1, Gano would have made 1 of those kicks, what loser misses 2 game winning kicks in 1 game and keeps there job

In any organization with standards, Pinero would have been cut before he left the stadium

Are you honestly trying to compare missing a game winning kick in the regular season to fuging up a kickoff in the SUPERBOWL and trying to say the regular season mess up was worse? I don't really talk much about Kasay, he was a damn good kicker for us, but his screw up out of bounds kickoff in the Superbowl is much worse than a regular season missed game winner.

I was out helping the lady do some Christmas shopping with her sister but the game updates made me turn on NFL Plus 😄

Right, lmao. I went into the other room and told somebody about it and turned the TV onto the game instantly. You just can't miss something like that. A choke of that caliber is just so rare that you can't miss it and it's made all the more interesting it happened to the same QB on a different team.

  7. 33 to fuging 0......absolutely WOW. I saw that score at halftime and decided not to turn on the TV to watch. Checked the score later and saw Vikings tie it up and just stared dumbfounded at such a choke. Matt Ryan spreading the Falcon choke curse with this game..... fuging hell

  8. Yeah, I've generally been pretty respectful of our coaches when it is time for them to go even when they started to do terribly. I WAS trying to be respectful of Rhule but seriously if he can't take ever a slight bit of responsibility to his own failings and want to blame others then screw that. Tripping all over himself to try and push the blame on anybody but himself. The facts are, HE was the one in the beginning that ultimately had say in our drafting until he was put under a limit, HE was the one that wanted to bring in all his unexperienced buddies and pretty much NO NFL coaching experience until he was basically forced to change, He was the one who was always consistently starting inferior players that he had a hard on for while better players were forced to sit on the bench and wait until injury to play. He also wants to claim he didn't throw anybody under the bus but, Hell, how he treated Cam is a prime example of that being a lie.

Where are the Rhule defenders at???

Yeah, he is clearly spouting BS on that one. I mean, while he hasn't looked too bad lately, drafting Chubba is a CLEAR example that Matt was heavily involved in making the picks. I mean, it was "His Wife's" pick after all. We'll also add in that long snapper they drafted as well so that he could make a spectacle about it on video.

  10. I mean, I was wishing him well in his new position at Nebraska and everything but that answer was just......oof...... at least act like you have some kind of awareness. For instance if it's me, my answer probably would have been that instead of having a staff of coaches/assistants with so little NFL experience day one of me coming in, I'd have instead tried to bring in some more experienced people to help ease the transition over between the two coaching levels

If we play him too much he will cost us a 4th. He needs to ride the pine.

Exactly. I don't know how Sam will do behind this new OLine but even if he still plays badly I'd rather we had shitty QB play with him and only give up a 5th than shitty QB play with Baker and give up a 4th.

Okay, so let me ask this-

Which is of more consequence- the draft pick the Panthers will give up for Mayfield or the draft slot the Panthers get based on the team's performance?

I mean, I'm not expecting him to play well given his history and after what I've seen from Baker I can't say either one is better or worse than the other. Even with Sam I wouldn't expect much more wins thus still having a high draft pick while also preventing that 5th from upgrading to a 4th.
