We just get cute at such bad times. Or we tend to draft on need rather than BPA. Most of the draft mistakes, we fuging make.

Our last draft is littered with that. Pick one, trade up to get a guy that is far from a sure thing. Moderately high ceiling but ultimately project player. Which....what was the rush on a guy like that? There are more guys in perhaps lower tiers. Not a major offense but just not super smart IMO.

Second pick, overdrafted for a very good football player but just not paying attention to positional value at all. Bigger needs and higher positional value available. Again, absolutely do not dislike the player but is the difference in Brooks and say a 3rd or 4th round RB big enough to warrant passing on a new starting center? A LB? EDGE?

Then promptly in the 3rd we make a major reach(IMO) on a high level athlete with questionable football abilities. So, basically a guy that immediately projects as a special teams player. Well, what value is that in the 3rd? In the first 1-3 rounds, you need to be looking at guys that have a shot at actually being in your two deep. When is this guy seeing the field, exactly? 2 years? 3? And that's probably best case. That's not a 3rd rounder, that's a 5th-7th rounder or a UDFA.

It’s amazing this continues to happen after coaching and GM changes.

I felt like Fields was ready to breakout.  He has all the tools to be successful in NFL but they got rid of him for basically nothing and got rookie on a team that ready to compete now.

Yep not sure why we didn’t trade a 6th for him seeing it looks like Bryce is not going to work out

We are the only team in the entire NFL without a prime time game this season

This is the lowest point of this franchise’s history

I thought everyone got a Thursday night game

The Panthers Huddle is usually just propaganda …this one was actually good

im feeling good about the Morgan and Canales marriage

the proof is ‘in the pudding’ however

…and have to remember a first time head coach and players who have never played together before but they can’t possibly be worse than last year

the wild card to all this,  too,  is Young

I wish I felt better about him but I don’t

Morgan says he wants ‘dawgs’ not ‘dogs’ I.e. pit bulls vs poodles…I see young as the latter, not the former

Regardless, life is full of surprises…maybe he is a lot more than I see.  I’m not a scout or coach

Agree with this 100 percent. I believe a lot of things are heading in the right direction but we are probably drafting a new QB in round 1 next year

I'll go B since Morgan got our 2nd rounder back for next year and we got Sanders at 101. Don't worry about these cowards taking the fun out of early grading the draft on a message board

I gave it a C because I really only maybe two of these guys making a second contract here(Brooks and Sanders).

Seemed very similar to recent previous drafts to my eyes.

this.  Loved the trade down to get our second back next year  and our 4th round pick   I also liked the move to get to 32 but would have went with Ladd. I believe we reached a bit on our 2nd and third round picks, especially with Brooks injury.

I saw 1 mock draft somewhere that had us trading to 31 for Brock Bowers, I wouldn't be made at that, but the likely hood of that even being possible to happen is like maybe 0.1 percent.

Seeing that the niners and chiefs are set at TE not sure why we would need to trade to 31 for TE

This or id even think about trading for a 2nd next year because we don’t have one but I’m only doing so if the team we trade with has a top 10 pick (2nd round) in this years draft so we don’t fall that far down the board

This would actually make sense. Trading down only to get like a 4th rounder I would hang up the phone

I think they need to, but Canales has already said Corbett (I think he said it) and Mays.  If you step back and look at the big picture, is the upgrade from Corbett to a rookie center worth it, if it is at all?  I literally do not know what Corbett would be like at C--does Canales?

Here is what I have noticed:

Canales mentioned keeping his third/emergency QB on the PS--

He praised Sullivan, Tremble, and Thomas at TE--when you do that across the board, it may be that we are adding a TE.  You do not want to let existing players know that you are before the draft, because if it does not work out, you have let them know you wanted to upgrade them.  I think we add a TE.

Looking at the roster and knowing the strengths of the draft, you KNOW we are drafting a WR, CB, and LB.

LOGIC:  Do u spend $150m at G and let someone who has never played C take that job?   Only if you know that Corbett and Mays are capable of doing the job and protecting the QB.

From our perspective?  You draft a C early.

I just do not get the idea that we will.

But how do we know?  It’s not like they have practiced under Canales

Too be honest...No. I like him but i like Cooper better and also i dont see LB as a high enough need for early pick compared to other positions. I would go receiver maybe even DL or corner over LB early.

We thought this in 2012 as well but worked out pretty well for us
