  1. The bright spots. We got the point and still control our destiny for up to 2 more losses(more depending on how many Tampa and Florida lose) and our call ups played solid. I actually really liked Lorentz on the first line, he’s really trying to prove he deserves to be on the roster. He’s no Fast in terms of play style who compliments Aho well but he did bring fire and energy. Aho played his ass off last night too. I chalk that loss up to coaching as much as anything else. We tried to sit back in the third, that didn’t work. We gave up too many breakaways overall. Ned flat out was out of gas by the start of the third and we should have pulled him. And starting Svech-Tro in overtime Vs. Barkov just not a smart move. Should have had Aho-Lorentz(Tro)-(Pesce/Slavin) out there. No knock on Svech or Tro. Just needed shutdown guys on Barkov then get shooters out there once he was off the ice. If Ned hadn’t have played 3 games in 5 days that game would have been in the bag easy. At least now we know though.
  2. Aho. Never discount Aho. Note at the end of reg he literally took Barkov to the ice. Should have had him and Lorentz out there against the entire Florida Panthers to start OT. That was a bad coaching mistake.
  3. Rod should have put Aho-Lorentz-Slavin. Sub out tro from the usual cause Lorentz has had Barkovs number all game. Also should have put reimer in. But meh. Got the point. That keeps us solid in the 1 seed race.
  4. This isn’t even a confidence thing. His mind is making the right moves, his body is just having trouble following.
  5. I don’t either. It’s pretty clear his motto this season(and in general) is if you are you are in win or lose.
  6. Who gave Ned some of the Florida cocaine after those goals cause his reflexes are back up to par.
  7. He is so mentally and physically tired. He’s made the right move on both those goals but his body just couldn’t keep up.
  8. There is no way Ned can get us to OT much less win a shootout. We now know the limit of his physicality. 2 games + 2 periods.
  9. It went off svech’s skate perfectly but Pesce set up that pinball.
  10. I hate to say it but pull Ned and put reimer out there. Ned is cooked his muscles aren’t working at all at the moment. It’s no knock on Ned at all. He’s just physically done.
  11. Nino did pick him, trying to get up the ice to his position. Not that it would have mattered. Perhaps Florida is trying to the flop. Oh well.
  12. There was no way that should have been a penalty shot much less a penalty. He didn’t hold, he barely even turned him. That was basically a perfect DB play.
  13. I love how composed of an enforcer Hakanpaa is. Jump in, use his size and length to just keep people at bay.
  14. Tripps been calling it since mid first period last game. Their ice down there in south Florida is poo. I was hoping they would have turned down the thermostat to figure it out since last game.
  15. Ned needs to not try and go out and play that puck there at the end with how shitty the ice conditions are I. Florida. Took a weird bounce back around Pesce and his pass took a weird bounce too.
  16. Poo. No fast. I know he’s been nursing something.
  17. 'FORT LAUDERDALE - The Carolina Hurricanes face off again with the Florida Panthers with the chance to clinch a berth in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs on the line. The Match-Up Carolina Hurricanes (31-10-5, 67 points) at Florida Panthers (30-13-5, 65 points) Saturday, April 24, 7 p.m. Watch: Bally Sports South, FOX Sports GO Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app Numbers to Know 2: The Canes magic number to clinch a third consecutive berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs is two. 1: Nedeljkovic ranks first in the league in goals-against average (1.87) and save percentage (.933) among goaltenders who have played at least 10 games." https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/gameday-preview-carolina-hurricanes-florida-panthers/c-323952568 No projected lineup so far and i doubt we'll see one with the injuries/bang-ups. Rod say there are a few game time decisions besides what we already know.
  18. Upon further review I think Drew Shore in at 4C and move Lorentz to 3LW or frankly which ever line sees the most of Barkov. Because he took no poo from Barkov last game. Alternatively you could put McCormick in at 4LW and move Paquette back to 4C.
  19. If not I hope the tunnel is dead silent with a determined grit and chip on the shoulder tonight.
