I am not speaking about La'el in general, but I just wanted to add that this isnt Hurney and Fox's Panthers anymore, Carolina has become a team where players want to come play. I'm sure that is no surprize to some people around here, but some of us remember when Carolina was treted like the Jaguars are now. 

 

I'm so glad that we have a team that is up and coming. A lot of players ha have came here have talked about wanting/hoping to play here. I think that Cam and Luke and Rivera are a big part of our team turning the corner. 

absolutely but with about a dozen or so other teams being able to say something similar, I would hope that those other factors may put us over the top.

Peters doesn't have great play strength and is a willing tackler more than an aggressive hitter, but he plays with desired competitiveness and hasn't allowed a touchdown pass against him over his last 58 targets spanning two years. If Peters can run an average forty yard dash and add some bulk to his frame, he has the potential to become a starter.

Garry Peters is interesting to me. Despite my family being big Clemson fans and I seeing most of their games, they always seem to have an underrated DB that I'm not terribly familiar with. Wouldn't mind if Peters is that guy this year.

What happened with him?

Just never seemed to put it together. Inconsistent hands and much faster straight line than he is quick in and out of cuts. Pretty much became strictly a fly-route guy that could stretch the field. He will be great for ST though.

Clemson DB Gary Peters coming to Carolina as well

Damiere is almost strictly a stretch-the-field type receiver. He's a potential Olympic track athlete. He's great on ST. Always seems to be the first one to make the tackle.

Damiere Byrd coming to Charlotte

if he's cleared, tons of teams will go after him. And since you can't outbid each other, it's going to basically depend on where he'd rather play

in which case I really hope that Trai Turner and our need for a future LT would be enticing to him.

Forgot about Nick Marshall too. He may be a decent project CB.

Crazy how Harris, Prewitt, and Drummond have all been mocked at different times as high as the first round. I'm really really really hoping we bring in Prewitt. He's one of those guys that's always around the ball.

First off kendricks is better than shaq lets get that out the way. Not only is he will he not be bpa at 25 when we are on the clock he isn't even the best at his position.

People i would take over shaq at 25: Peat Perriman Gordon Gurley fisher kendricks Humphries DGB Dorsett landon Collins Peters Darby Flowers.

Read the first three words of my post. It's my opinion. Try not to get so worked up over things that don't really matter.

Why would you draft someone in the first that you have never seen play one snap at the position you want him for?

Because based on his athletic ability and play style I project (key word) that he would have more value at that position than the guys I believe will also be available at 25 would have value at their respective positions. In a worst case scenario, I believe he can be a special package OLB that brings similar value as his competition for our pick.

Again, all this is my opinion. But that's all that the draft is. It's a consolidated view of differing opinions.

As far as bpa goes this draft is much better at wr ol and probably db than 4-3 olb.

Matter of opinion. First, I see Shaq as a SS. Second, I don't see anyone who will likely be there at 25 that I think will be better than Shaq. Only possibilities, IMO, are maybe Humphries and Fisher. And that would be up to the FO to decide if either of those are better value than Shaq assuming that they are even there at 25.

I don't see any WR or DB being there that I think is better.

Hes a backup day one for us. We don't stay in base and spent over 60%(give or take) of our time in nickel. We already have the best coverage lbs in the game so why get another when we have bigger needs at ol cb and wr. a player who sees the field 30% of the time is not what you draft in the first 2 rounds.
