Also the TNT crew absolutely sucks tonight. The broadcasts have been progressively getting worse to the point where they are starting to actively root for Boston.

Who the F was it that just passed the puck backwards into the D zone and onto the tape of the Bruins player?
-
That was one of the laziest defensive shifts I have ever seen. No urgency to get to the puck and terrible clearing attempts. What a joke that was.

Don't feel good about this at all. Bruins have a ton of experience, a horseshoe up their arses, and are dirty as fug. Game 7 even at home is not good.

Even after Slavin scored with 8:10 to go the team seemed to not give a shitt. It was weird man.
Yep. Gonna need a lot of guys to step up tomorrow. And stop taking stupid penalties.

I would argue TDA brought it too. After Smith got blooded up, TDA was the only one sticking up for Smith.
Thought about him after I posted. I agree with TDA too.

Brendon Smith was the only one who brought it last night. After the first hit he took and another dirty hit later he started destroying guys.

I don't think anybody disagrees with you and pretty certain the front office agrees and wants to grab a QB. But, nobody thinks one of these QBs available is worth risking next year's draft.

2021...at pick 8 we select the first defensive player in the draft.
2022....at pick 6 we select the first offensive player in the draft.
What does it mean? Not sure. But I think we did very very well in both cases.

Definitely needs to learn to hang onto his stick. And his aggressiveness is going to lead to some awesome saves but some mild heart attacks too. I'm excited for more!

He’s probably closer to 6’1” or 6’2”, he’s definitely on the smaller side.
I asked Walt Ruff on Twitter if he could help solve the mystery. He responded that he will look into it and see what he can find out. It makes sense that he would be listed larger in pre-draft reports since he is from Russia.

One thing I notice is his height is all over the map. The Wolves roster lists him at 6'0 and I've seen different profiles list him all over from 6'1 - 6'4.

Eh. If we get an injury I would rather go with the 22 year old than Lyon's sorry ass.
Don't disagree but I highly doubt that he sees the NHL this season at all.

When will our Russian goalie get some PT? End of the season?
Not likely to see the bigs this season and that's a good thing. They want to give him some time to get used to the game on North America. Also, the Canes are a legit Cup contender and need to win every game we can to make the playoff route the "easiest" possible.

Pyotr stole the game against Texas and was the first star.

I've followed his career in Russia very closely. At the time we drafted him he had flashed at the world juniors that year and showed all the tools (size, flexibility, instincts, etc.) to be an elite NHL goalie at that time after being pretty much unknown the year before (he was an overager in the draft, so he went undrafted a few times and re-entered the draft, by that time his stock increased a ton and we took him high in the 2nd round).
Since then he really struggled to get consistent playing time and carve out a role as a starter and because of that he couldn't get on a roll and his play was inconsistent. Finally last year he got traded to Torpedo (KHL team) and has been consistently great since that trade, being arguably a top 5 goalie in the KHL this year.
I'm really excited about the kid but people need to temper expectations on his timeline. He may get a few starts in the NHL this year to see how he does but his track record and sample size of consistently strong play is very limited for a goalie prospect. We brought him over now because the KHL season ended and he had nowhere to play but I still fully expect him to go back to the KHL next year as both Raanta and Freddie are still under contract plus we have Makiniemi and now LaFontaine in the AHL already getting a ton of the starts. I would expect he gets a top 2 spot with the Canes starting in the '23-'24 season, but will definitely be fun to see how he does in his stop in North America right now.
Agreed. I've followed him closely as well and hoping he's our next franchise goalie. Along with what you've mentioned, it's also normal for young goalies from overseas to get at least a full season in North America to get used to the ice and style of play.
I'm really hoping he comes over for good next season but we'll see.

Too many good tackles in this year's draft (on a rookie deal, keep in mind) to take a swipe at an aging, very highly paid OT with injury concerns.
And that's a fair argument. To be honest, I REALLY like Cross.
But if we think Armstead can be healthy (big IF), it's also very intriguing to have something like Armstead + Linderbaum/Ekonwu + additional draft pick instead of only Cross.

Hes hurt. He is on the wrong side of 30. We have tried this before (hello Kalil) and it severely handicaps you. Plus for him to come here we would have to throw the bank at him.
So was Trent Williams and the same exact argument was made on him on this same message board. Now everyone is mad we didn't sign him.
Matt Kalil was never good even before he signed. That's the difference.

Signing Armstead would make a ton of sense from a strictly personnel standpoint. Proven LT that pushes BC inside. Allows you to trade down and pick up more draft capital and could very likely still come away with a guy like Linderbaum or Ekonwu.
I would be surprised if we sign a LT to draft a QB.

Troy Pride Jr. is still on the team
So is ST-O but they are buried at this point so I didn't include them.
Corn Elder is also on the practice squad.

I thought it was him but couldn't tell. In that case the past 2 goals are 100% on him. Absolutely awful.
