Seems like we’ve got more than “dawgs” or whatever. This class seems like a good crop of guys with some heavy life experience and came out stronger. Just seem like good people too. Really hope this is a high end class. XL, Brooks, and Wallace and Sanders could all be high impact guys and quickly.

I can see XL contributing this year in some fashion TDs big plays here and there, Brooks later in the year, and Sanders probably from day one. Running up the seams/hashes or quick routes while still being right in his line of sight should help Bryce the most out of these three this season like Jimmy Graham to Drew Brees. But if Wallace has an impact this season I'd be ecstatic I mean that'd be a very strong contributing class I'd go crazy over that being that most wanted a center or a good DB when we went LB if he can contribute we'd be in track for this rebuild.

I think he is very raw.  When he gets it together, and he will sometime soon, watch out.

I agree with that I was only thinking before he gets it all together his go-to play at this point of his early career should be (I hope) winning jump ball situations consistently until he develops a more diverse skillset or puts it all together and really gets busy.

You still need good accuracy and ball placement to take advantage of good jump ball WR.

I definitely don't think you need good ball placement and  good accuracy not saying his doesn't need to dramatically improve but I thought the reason you pick a XL is because he has a very broad catch radius. I'm thinking 25 yards down the field one on one coverage throw it up and expect XL to come down with it, a little arch and touch to give him a chance to out jump the DB should do the trick not as much as ball placement imo as of right now.  Maybe when throwing to DJ with tight coverage slants come back routes and things of that nature requires the accuracy and ball placement but what I'm thinking of takes away from having to be as accurate get it to him jump ball situations gives him a chance to Moss the defender consistently.

The man can get up. Red zone threat for sure.

Throw the ball in his area consistently, 50/50 jump balls should be our early go to move with him. Bryce should be way more willing to just let it fly if him and the defender are even put some arch on it and let it rip is what I'm hoping for.

This tweet has me ready to overdose on hopium,

but this tweet brought me back down to earth.

Lmao yea I remember I'm at years training camp and otas Bryce was hitting deep passes to Chark everyday and completed I think one maybe two deep passes to Chark all dammm season. I'm definitely waiting to see it versus competition other than our defense.

My expectations are very low for XL this year. He is a rookie and traditionally we don't develop rookie WR fast. I fully expect it to be the Dionte Johnson show this year with flashes of AT. I think somebody nobody expected will come out of nowhere and grab some limelight too. Marshall? Mingo? UDFA? who knows.

I understand that logic but no way in hell we get minimal from a first round WR. They contribute in a big way these days he was targeted for a reason. I agree DJ should get busy being the clear number one but you don't trade up for the best jump ball catcher Moss type with how he catches passes and expect minimal. Not Jamar Chase but a big year 8 plus TD and over 6-700 yards total rec/rush. Sorry I'm not setting the bar at the minimum just because we've been azz I'm holding us to a normal standard.

Edit: Man no way a udfa out performs our first rounder it's possible but shouldn't be the case we need to strategically put him in position to excel with our young creative offensive head coach like Mike McDaniel per say.

    we have mini mahomes

That nickname was always bonkers - absolutely nothing about his game resembles Mahomes.

Lmfao absolutely nothing at all but the pre draft hype went crazy I was in my barbershop like he might be a mini Mahomes guys we're good. The older guys like you sure I'm like oh yea he's a computer processing the field watch us ball out. Fast forward 12 months we laugh every week I come in like gut busting knee slapping laughs but we'll see this year where my QB is at.

  8. This is a very interesting thought Dak is a very good QB who hits all areas of the field accurately. If he would take a very respectable deal leaving us a little money to add more playmakers I'd be more then happy with a top 15 QB running the show here. It'd be a treat to have a QB who throws deep accurate and hits out routes consistently, our only gripe would be his clutch gene but that's more of a playoff thing and we're just trying to not get a top 5 draft pick next two years lol.

  9. Our foundation will be set-up perfectly for a young top notch QB to come in and flourish immediately. A top level RB two opposite Wrs one deep ball catcher one quick separator. A young dynamic TE with a strong young Oline. Insert A stud QB and we're trending up for five plus years. Might only cost us one more year of suffering

How would Brooks be 100% after a November ACL tear? I’d be fine if he didn’t play until November.

There's no way he can be 100% but his process probably has running and movement needed at this stage of his recovery. Not full game speed but running jumping cutting are all things you do around 6-8 months into your recovery.

I dunno, I’d put Bryce over Bo Nix. #30 sounds right.

Yea this ranking means if Bryce doesn't show real improvement we'll be looking for his replacement. We are acquiring weapons down field targets we retain DJ at a good number with him and XL probably making plays this year with JT. We will need a strong arm QB who can hit targets deep consistently. Canales is a big arm QB type of coach his systems have seem to be based off deep passes why would we not try to replicate what makes him successful as a coach. For CJ to be ranked so high and Bryce so low is also putting tremendous pressure on the entire situation he's going to need to step it up in a big way.

We are definitely trying to be a pound the rock team. The flipside to that is the QB will pretty much be more of a game manager.

Not such a bad thing if he's hitting deep shots and big plays like slants for 20+ yards. We'll win more it'll help him grow as a QB win win for everybody involved. Not looking to win it all this year but dam being competitive tough out a well coached team is something to look forward to.

I think it’s underselling XL a bit by saying he’s only a deep threat. He runs a killer stop route (helped by his deep threat ability) and he is absolutely lethal on crossing routes and slants. This MFer can run and once he catches the ball with some momentum he could be gone. I think I remember him hitting the season record in terms of in-game top speed last year? But yeah, he doesn’t have combine speed, actual game speed.

Fastest clocked time in game at like 22.3 mph on some Tyreek Hill game speed. This is a fact so game speed might really show his elite speed once we get him in good situations like on time passes where he can turn and take off.

Gosh, loving some of these WRs haha.  Javon Baker was a riot in his opening presser.

Kind of wish we double dipped in the 5th or 6th for a shifty/joystick type dude like Malik but oh well. : /

I'd like to have him as well but honestly I don't think we'll have enough targets to go around for Malik. DJ, one is that joystick type and two his man problem was he wanted more targets let's feature him with Sanders and sprinkle in AT, XL, and Mingo with touches to Brooks we can't manufacture that many touches to add another young weapon would you say?

Brooks doesn't hit the hole like Chuba, I'm taking Chuba when you need that 1 yard since we apparently don't want a true power back

Lolll what? I think you're confusing starter with a one yard pickup. Brooks is a explosive every down back. Chuba is good but not on the level of Brooks youth, speed, hands out the backfield and lack of wear and tear are all heavily in favor our young stud he'll be the starter at some point this season. But I definitely expect Chuba to contribute at a high amount throughout the season if we're what we plan on being a run heavy team.

In college he never got quick seperation.  Im not sure I could expect it to happen in the NFL.

Our quick passing game needs multiple elements a potential deep threat who can actually catch contestded jump balls with top notch speed was a perfect addition to our offense. We can't run out three of the same wide outs and expect to be a deceptive or productive team. Currently we can run either XL or DJ deep with confidence they'll make a play but we have our quick separator and our deep big jump ball catcher. We have to have WR with different traits to be dynamic.... Bengals...fast separator Chase Big jump ball WR Tee .... Eagles Fast separator Smith Big deep threat jump ball catcher AJ who happens to be fast asf.) We're following a winning module on how good wr cores are built.
