If we don't keep Abdullah I was be all for bringing in Chandler late. CMC hasn't proven he can play all season anymore.

Good vision for Ty there.

Got it. Yeah I don’t see many HBCU QBs that have been drafted lately…
Last one was Tarvaris Jackson back 2006.

Yeah, but Lance was a small school guy and went 3rd overall? I only watched a few highlight clips, but his stats look pretty solid too.
Lance went to NDSU, which is the most dominant FCS football team in the last decade. Alabama A&M is a HBCU, which don't get NFL scouts down there that often (Jackson State will probably change that as long as Deion is there tho).
I would really like to see Glass and Kelley at the combine. Neither will probably be invited sadly.

Aqueel Glass is someone I've been following all year. He may be someone to watch as a late round developmental prospect.

Daboll wants former Panther QB coach Ken Dorsey as his OC.

I like DJ but if we draft another corner in the first, I'll flip out.

I can't believe Buffalo let them get into FG range with only 13 seconds on the clock.

That's it. If this man is hired, I'll buy to the conspiracy that Rhule is trying to get fired so that he can get all his guaranteed money and go back to college. And that Tepper knows this and they are doing an ego struggle. I know it sounds ridiculous but this situation is ridiculous.
-
Honestly looking at how disheveled and rough he looks here (compared to regular rough Matt), I believe the "he needs to find an OC" talk. He doesn't look like someone who was told he was safe. Looks like he hasn't slept a wink. He got through by the skin of his teeth.

Moderately pessimistic bc I'll give it a chance. I'm at a point in my live where I'm not going to let a game on TV negatively affect my life. If I'm not entertained, I won't watch. Watching incompetent play by my favorite team is not entertaining. It'll be easy for me not to watch.
I'll dutifully show up at the start of next season like I always do, but once it becomes apparent that nothing has changed, then my Sundays will open up quickly.

I wouldn't hate it if he has simmered down this time around. We would probably have to give him the same control Rhule has (to avoid another SF ending) and I think Tepper would be wary in doing that again.
That's why his name is linked with the Raiders, he would get the same control Gruden got.

Person gonna be banned from training camp after this.

2001 was a 1-15 team, but played hard and loss 9 games by one score or less. That team would beat the current team if they played this week.
-
I just hope that Tepper is holding off bc he doesn't have an adequate interim since everyone on the staff aside from Sean Ryan and Chase Blackburn is a Rhule follower. At the very least, Tepper needs to take away some of Rhule's power, power he shouldn't have had in the first place, and make him fire some of these poo, college level assistants for guys with long-time NFL experience.
If Tepper does nothing, and Rhule stands pat with Jeff Nixon as OC (like we all know he'll do if it is his choice), remember this. When we get to training camp, and we inevitably start seeing the training camp fluff pieces about Jeff Nixon blooming into his role as OC and how Darnold is finally turning the corner as a leader, don't believe it.

There's no more to been seen from Darnold. Next year will be his 5th year, it's time accept treat him like the Blaine Gabbert's of the world, not some rookie or 2nd year with potential.

The guy needs to go, but at this point we have to wait until the end of the year. Firing him now sets a really bad precedent for Tepper. He will have fired two coaches before seasons end in three seasons. That could scare off some coaches in the future.
Also, nearly everyone on staff aside from Sean Ryan is a long-time Rhule guy. You fire Rhule before the end of the season, then we may have worry about staff leaving early with him, leaving us without coaching staff for the rest of the season. Not sure if that has ever happened before, but Rhule has brought in so many of his long-time followers, that I feel it is definitely possible.

I could have sworn Venebles was all but a done deal for OU. Stoops was vouching for him.
-
We desperately need more picks. I feel like Fitterer might take a weak deal to trade back to recoup the missing 2nd and/or 3rd rounder.

Okay, so I'm watching this punter live rn and he really is the college punter GOAT. He has an insane leg and he can do directional.

LOL on the last part. Fug that M-F-er, I wanted the Fanatics dude.
On an off note, I just realized that Credit One is one of the reasons that my credit score is 700+. They took a chance. So I'm sorry for calling Navarro an M-F-er. Still preferred the Fanatics dude though.
I wanted Michael Rubin (the Fanatics guy) too. I believe Joseph Tsai was attached with him. I think the NFL owners were wary of him bc he allegedly had Diddy in his ownership group and Diddy had already claimed that he would bring in Kaepernick if he became minority owner.

Nah, I still feel that Jones ceiling is Alex Smith. Good and will stick the league for 10+ years, but there is a reason why teams thought they could do better.
Here, I feel that Jones would be pre-Harbaugh Alex Smith.

Receiver Coach hire
in Carolina Panthers
Posted · Edited by Dilla
Rhule has gotten placed on a bit of an island here. The only prominent coaches left that are his guys are Nixon and Snow. McAdoo has been known to be political. He could easily try a mutiny of sorts here. Probably wouldn't work, but it would be funny to watch.
