  1. Great post brother, great analysis love to see these types of posts. Personally, I believe CB to be our second-largest need due to Jackson's Achilles tear that's the absolute worst possible injury for any athlete but especially a player like Jackson who is so reliant on his speed and is undersized. I doubt he returns before week 5 next year, and will not be the same player when he returns. That makes CJ our #2 and absolutely horrid depth behind that(Taylor, Oliver, possibly Rowe). We need at least two new corners for depth, I doubt we don't walk away from the Draft with at least one CB.

Many that had a BMI done were all muscle and still considered obese. Odd how they come to that conclusion.

Exactly, this is because BMI is only calculated by your weight in KG divided by your height in meters squared. It literally is just based on your height and weight, your lean muscle mass is not accounted for whatsoever. Useless in terms of scouting outside of anomaly’s.

The fact that he’s less than 1 away from being “obese” probably doesn’t sit well with 70% of the huddle

BMI is a pretty useless metric for athletes, does not take in to account their body fat %. Pretty much every position outside of ST, and WR would be considered obese. BMI is made for the general population, works well when this nation is fat as fug for a general idea of someone’s obesity levels for a normal person.

The "YOUNGSTERS" are desperately trying to convince us that less is more.

Dumb move. Not big enough for the NFL. He should get into bowling. What's next?? The best 5'10" volleyballer?! It won't work he's not playing against future salesmen or accountants the NFL is full of physical freaks, ya boy , sooner than later will get smashed.

If he were my son I'd be excited for him but that reality that he's fighting out of his weight class would be terrifying. Some fans don't care they just want to "see" him do it.

I DON'T want to see it happen, but it's likely, that's why I rather it happen in another uniform.

Heard the Texans like Will Anderson so all the Bryce hype and gamesmanship may be for not.

    John Elway is this you?

To avoid the typical Young/Stroud debate route where I point at the difference on the game tape and you point at the difference on the measuring tape, I'll just say that I think he'd fit the Ted LB role in the 3-4 very well and that would also protect any concerns over length + speed. He has the strength and intelligence to thrive in the role and be an outstanding on ST.

But if we are talking about who has the best film of the 3, it isn't even close: it's Pace.

Given just Sanders or Campbell tho: Campbell

I genuinely like Pace, you’re totally right he’s a great ST guy and he seems like a really bright guy. But, we’re talking pure positional value and upside at this point a potential Mike/3-4 edge in Sanders and a true Mike in Campbell is worth more than a ted LB. Combined with much larger frames I’d rather take either of them over Pace, I could be totally wrong just reminds me of one of those tackle college machines who has a hard projection at the next level. He is definitely underrated currently and will not be surprised if he is a solid player just lacks upside.

Was not impressed with Drew Sanders. Thought he missed a lot of tackles and got dragged a lot when trying to wrap up.

I like Jack Campbell based on measurables alone. He looked good in the Iowa defense.

I prefer Ivan Pace Jr over both of them tho! 😮

I’m sorry dude but just no, Sanders and Campbell clear Pace by a mile. There’s a reason you haven’t heard a single person mention Pace anywhere close to where Sanders and Campbell are. He is 5 ft 10 with below average wingspan, the partial edge role he played in college is not gonna be there in the NFL. Compare that to much bigger frame and more functional athleticism of Sanders and Campbell, no debate here talent evaluators across the league have spoken.

I'd make a disclaimer or change the original post into just good and not good vs great but I can't.  That was my mistake now everyone's just going to hyper focus on the wrong thing, the good vs great qbs isn't my point.

My point is the busts vs non busts  especially as it relates to first QB taken.  The biggest take away is #1 QB selected had about 63% of not being a bust. That seems to imply taking QB first overall is less of a crapshoot then some people make it out to be and might assuage some people's fears of it not working out.

Learning experience, don’t worry about it  I see your point. Just can’t confuse people with the subjective,  non statistically based differential arguments you made between good and great.

These stats I was reading off were ADJUSTED FOR THE PLAY AROUND THE PLAYER. All of these stats are not adjusted.

Foreman averaging double the yards over expectation as Sanders is all I need to know for how effective the player is.

And, I'm still saying give me both. Having two guys like this with a rookie QB would not be a bad thing.

Relax buddy, by the way if you’re gonna use statistics then cite them. You’re essentially saying nothing with out backing up your claims with evidence. Also, receiving ability in the modern NFL is incredibly important. There’s a reason NFL GMS value Foreman significantly less than Sanders. That’s not my opinion that’s what people who actually know what their talking about think.

Foreman was better than Sanders last year so I don't know what you're talking about. Foreman was at double of Sanders in yards over expectation. He also had PJ Walker, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold as his QB while Sanders had Jalen Hurts. Football is a team game and it's difficult to evaluate individual production but, by most advanced metrics, Foreman was better.

So give me Foreman and give me Sanders and I'll be happy. Not sure why you'd be cozy going with Sanders, Hubbard, and Blackshear (fuging puke).

We could've signed Foreman for half the amount and had twice the production as well. 4 years and $25 million is such a Panthers thing to do for a guy like Sanders who is, by all accounts, average on his own.

No clue where you got those stats, but by majority of advanced metrics Miles Sanders was the more efficient RB last year. Combined with him actually having receiving upside compared to Donta. Give me Miles all mf day! Also you don’t need 3 good rbs, Miles Sanders and Chuba is a top 15 rb duo in the league. I’d rather draft some bigger redzone back then pay Donta.

Not sure how long you've been a Panthers fan but running back contracts and reasonable are not two things that we usually hear.

Now if we can get Foreman to also sign, we may have one of the best running back tandems in the NFL.

4 years 25 million total is actually pretty reasonable for a 26 yearold RB who just put up over 1200 rushing yards. Honestly I see no point in resigning Foreman after signing Sanders, Foreman is a JAG who benefited from our o line. I doubt he ever gets a starting role again outside of injury.
