Smart teams DO NOT trade away coveted quality offensive line depth. Just because they bring in a new starter doesn't mean those guys will stay healthy or that they still will not rotate other guys in. What happens if Sewell gets hurt or the other starter goes down? What happens if Sewell sucks?
The Ravens did

I suppose the response will be that Rhule was lying but he recently said they would consider moving Moton to the left if Moton said he felt comfortable doing so.

The positions where I most likely see the chance where a new starter could be acquired are safety and to a lesser chance LT.
Depth at LB seems a likely possibility.

I'm not really convinced he's a good player at this point but we will see.
On a per snap basis he put up quite good pass defense and int numbers while playing hobbled.

I don't give a poo if he listens to Joni Mitchel, makes flower bouquets and meditates on the sidelines as long as the offense scores points

I just want them to cover the events that are happening. It's rare any of the media knows enough about the sport to add anything useful beyond that.

He's an analyst. They look at tape and track things. If he coached TEs etc he can surely track offensive tendencies for a defense

He could have a great year assuming a healthy toe and being utilized properly with with the new CB pieces around him and Chinn playing more as a safety

Can he stay healthy?
That's his biggest knock. He's a wee lad.
Will see. His issue last year was turf toe so that's not related to size.

Interestingly, top outside pass rushers last year did their damage going up against RTs rushing from the left side of the DL. Garrett, Watt seemed to rush predominantly from that side. Burns moves all over.

Not having a LT is the entire organization protesting their Darnold traid.

I'm not even going to think about being concerned about a position battle until late in actual training camp.

Are there even competitions in mini camp? This is all just prep for camp.

Quoting from today's presser via The Athletic...
“We have purposely taken the approach of developing Sam – and all of our quarterbacks this spring – as a drop-back passer and put a lot on them,” said Rhule, the Panthers’ second-year coach. “More than most teams will probably do with a quarterback – more than probably the coaches are comfortable with.
“But for me it’s about just putting so much on those guys — not giving them a bunch of easy plays where they can go out and feel confident and look good,” Rhule added. “Our defense is giving us a lot of different looks. So I want to stretch those guys and see what they do well and then we can be more targeted in training camp and into the season.”
The first part of that statement interests me, specifically the part about developing their quarterbacks as "drop back passers".
Neither Bridgewater nor Darnold would rightly be seen as big run threats (neither are statues either, but still). And of course, the team passed on drafting a quarterback who was.
It makes me wonder if Rhule and/or Brady aren't necessarily concerned with superior athleticism at the quarterback position. You'll note he talks a lot about mental preparation here, but physical...not so much.
Arguing against that idea though is the fact that the team seems extremely interested in athleticism at pretty much every other position. With that said though, there are plenty of successful teams whose quarterbacks aren't amazing athletes (including the one that captured last year's Super Bowl trophy).
So is this an indicator of Rhule's QB philosophy or just an emphasis they have right now?
I think you are reading entirely too much in to a mini camp drill.

The over analysis of dang mini camp is nauseating

That’s why we need to sign a legitimate backup QB. Too late now. Stuck with two JAGs that should be working a normal jobs like the rest of us. PJ and Grier are so bad it’s not even funny.
You mention JAGS frequently but don't seem to know what it means. PJ and Grier are way below JAG level.

Offense being worse than the defense is the step back. Our O was pretty much fine last year except when things were clutch… the defense not so much.
I assume most of the big assets weren’t in the rotation though in the scrimmages.
It used to be well understood that offenses were behind defenses well in to training camp if not beyond. This is June. Rhule explained as much when he said OL isn't allowed to do much of anything that constitutes actual OL play.
What happened to things that used to be common knowledge ?

What is the strict filming limitations for the media about? I hope it isn't because the team is wanting to release more of their own social media content. I get it but I could live without some of the overdone fluff they have been putting out.
Its been going on around the league for years now.

This is the first mini camp he could have attended. The only other mini camp was for rookies.
The other events were called OTA Workouts

Why not trade for Tyrell Crosby?
in Carolina Panthers

It says they need the player. The Chiefs just did so for Orlando Brown. They are a contender at the moment and this keeps them as such. You have to analyze the specific situation vs judging general concepts.
