Yeah this was a bad attempt.. You tried to make a fact based breakdown but used your personal opinion to rate the QB’s??? Lmao

I'll be among the imploders, especially if it's Levis I'll try to make the best of it, but my gut would be in knots. AR would be a tough sell, but I could be bought on the idea that they could turn him into something beyond special.
Still, I'd rather not have to work to be excited. Just give me Stroud or Young and I'll be good
If they traded that much to get up and draft a project.. I might need a few months to convince myself that they aren’t idiots and know what they’re doing.. The whole time feeling really sick ..

You have those seasons reversed. He had a 1,000 yd rookie season. Last year was when he was hurt half the year.
Yes but still not a big impact with 3 tds in 2 years..

I'm going to address all of this.
- It is not rare for TEs to come in and be productive. It really depends on the team's offense and the player themselves. 2022 rookie TE stats. Notice several of them had more receiving stats than several Panther players even when playing less games. 2019 rookie TE stats. 2018. You can go on and on. The point is, that productive rookie TEs are not a rare thing.
- Going even further back, New England drafted two TEs in 2010. Hernandez and Gronkowski combined for over a 1000 yards and 10 TDs.
-
And two periods(..) is not an ellipse, you need three(...). Use it correctly or not at all please.
You name 2 TE I can name 10 for every 2.. Let me know when you’re ready..
And last I’ll do what the fug I want when I post worry about your own poo..

You're Kylie Pitts had 300 yards in his rookie season? Why do I remember that differently?
Yeah you kinda went off the track with that 1..

Honestly as soon as you brought up Kyle pitts having a big impact for the Falcons you should have stopped.. Lmao

Yes absolutely if we see a better option over Hurst in the draft pull the trigger. The rookie might not take the starting sport week one, but that doesn't make it a bad pick.
And this is where we get to the same conclusion..
Why would it be a better option?? What are you basing that on??
The only player who has been a number 1 TE what in the Pros is Hurst.. Not any rookie you draft has done anything in the NFL and still needs to go thru the transition that Hurst has done already..

Not even. Tight ends like Kylie Pitts, and others, can come in and make a big impact before being fully developed. You're seeing this as black and white or something.
Did he?? Beyond the fact you’re talking about a guy drafted top 5.. Has he really made a big impact for the falcons??? They run the ball more then anybody.. Their passing offense isn’t even in the top 25 ..

1st year 28 rec.. 300 yards 2 tds???
2nd year 68 rec 1000 yards 1 TD??
Solid 2nd season (yards and rec.) but 1 TD is big impact??

I want to upgrade from Hurst in this draft if a better option is available. I see that as important for the reason I gave in the other post. Be careful thinking of our WRs as studs because that could be a bit of echo chamber thinking. The Huddle's response is that our WRs our these awesome studs, but other fan bases are not impressed.
Another Quote where you think you can upgrade from Hurst with a 2nd round rookie…
So again this is a statement of a person who doesn’t think it takes time for TE to transition into the nfl..

So I never said it doesn't take time for a TE to fully develop. Thanks.
Alright cool.. Look at it how you want to.. But that’s exactly what you’re saying..

ILB, NT, and CB are the biggest needs in my mind right now
I would have NT higher but it’s also a hard transition position and when starting a 3/4 transition.. You want more of a vet Presence for couple years with man strength anchoring the front.. I would take a flier on a kid in the later rounds to develop…

It is not highly unlikely that we can draft a TE better than Hurst. I don't know where you are getting that.
Here’s your quote.. If you think it not unlikely for a rookie to be better then a guy who has proven to be a number 1 TE still in his prime..

Just now, pantherj said:
Who said it doesn't take some time for a TE to develop fully? I didn't.
Yea you are if you think a rookie TE would come in and be better then Hurst.. Which is literally what you’ve been saying..

If you don't know what I'm talking about then this is going nowhere. I'll leave it here.
Yes just stop because you have unreal expectations based off nothing.. I’m sorry that Hurst will probably be the best TE on the roster no matter who they draft based on experience and how hard the transition is for this position..

Just to clarify on the Olsen thing. Olsen was traded to us from the Bears because their style of offense couldn't utilize his talent.
Dude reality check it’s rare for TE’s to come in and be productive.. It’s a hard transition position.. Just like QB, Oline , Dline, It takes time..

You do understand that Olsen was being used to block on that Bears team. I think you're not understanding what Olson was asked to do on that Bears team, so you have stats out of context.
You do realize that’s what most TE have to do when they brought in.. It’s rare they come in and be Kelce .. Kittles took 2 years so did Andrew’s and Godert.. What are you talking about…
-
3 minutes ago, pantherj said:
Not mention if Hurst, who will be 30 years old running around out there, is injured we have to rely on Ian Thomas for our rookie.
30 isn’t old for a TE.. This isn’t RB again..
Olson played till 36..
Kelce is 33..
Kittles is 29..

You're talking about Hurst in his prime being seen as Mayers, but Hurst is past his prime.
Hurst s in his prime now he is 29 years old???

But in two years when Hurst’s contract is up that TE will be ready for TE1 reps. This TE class is loaded with talent and deep.Okay but I don’t want to spend a top 50 pick on a player I got to wait 3 years for.. JMO.. I can get a similar prospect in the 4th or 5th round..

Olson was a better prospect then any TE in this draft and didn’t start ramping up till season 3…

That's why I'm saying trade up and get two guys from the top of the 2nd round that could contribute this year. Either way I like that we have all 6 picks in the top 5 rounds
Top 2 what??

Yes it is.. The disrespect for Hurst is funny when in his draft he would be seen as Mayers and Kincade equal… Honestly Hurst would be TE 1 or 2 in this draft coming out of South Carolina…
Lets really look at reality.. Greg Olsen was a top 10 prospect at TE and didn’t produce his 1st few seasons.. And he was better then any TE coming out this season..
Again you’re not looking at the transitions aspect of this.. This isn’t RB or Wr .. TE for the most part take time get up to speed in the pro game..
