This just doesn't make sense.

There was no way we were keeping CS unless the WR market just bottomed out.
A WR3, our 4th option..wasn't going to be worth pushing any real amount of money to.
I am happy for CS and that he got paid.

Limited Cap Space: Check
Tons of Holes : Check

I don't know where these players are. The top tier ones that have no injury history, that will sign for peanuts.
Guys been doing funky trades on Madden too much, or something.
Does it make me nervous to sign players with an injury history? Sure. But due to some of the issues on the team with cap/holes to fill.....what other realistic options are there?
Thuney signed 5 years 80m with Chiefs. Can't believe he didn't come to Charlotte for 3 dollars a year.

We have no oline. Literally. And limited cap space.
Not sure how "cheap contracts for versatile average oline" is odd.

When Chinn didn't even get player of the week for a multiple defensive TD game..I knew he had no chance at DROY.

The cards have been a pretty consistent winner, they have talent, and a good coaching staff. Plus he stays in a warm climate.
And are still probably the 3rd or 4th best team in the division.

I completely get someone wanting their money. 100% fine with that. Respect it.
But saying you wanna go to a contender? Cards are a good squad, but NFC W is just so good. They could be a good squad and be last in the division next year, pretty easily.
Anyways. I am sure he will give them a good 9 games.

Doesn't seem to love the game, will be surprised if he is on the 53 man roster come September.
...he was a high risk opt out

If there is a trade..you don't trade all your weapons + your draft picks. Its one or the other.

I will say that Moore's ceiling may have been nearly reached.
Hard for me to say Moore's ceiling may have been reached when he hasn't really had a real QB throw him the ball yet. And despite that. Still puts up great numbers. 1100+ yards in 2 of 3 years in league.

3 firsts, CMC, Teddy?
I'd sign off on that before the ink dried on the paperwork being printed out.

No need to wonder. The actual date of release doesn’t matter. It’s like IR designated to return. You don’t do that when you put the player on IR, before CV you just had two chances to come back. Similarly for post June 1st, it’s a designation and not a calendar option. Cut today and you can use one of the two designations and say he’s a post June 1st cut. They added that to a prior CBA so the vet had a chance to join another team right away instead of after all FA and the draft.
Also, you gain no extra money. What happens is that if designated as post June 1st, you can then stretch out whatever dead cap is left into this year and next year instead of eating it all this year. Short has $11M in dead cap left so post June 1st puts $5M of the dead cap into 2022 and leaves only $6M in 2021. With cap rollover, it’s close to the same because the extra $5M in cap space to use after June 1st (that’s key as you can’t use it on Morton’s tag) is offset by $5M in dead cap next year. No matter what we still have all $11M in dead cap, just whether you spread some into next year to give yourself flexibility which in rebuild year two we should hopefully not need to use this year
In this instance, I believe its more about freeing up the money as soon as possible.
Franchise tag deadline is early March. If the Panthers wanted to use Short's freed up money to assist in tagging Moton, they can't wait till June 1st for it to come out.

It will not be a post June cut.
IMO it will be to free up money to franchise Moton.

Anyone got the breakdown on what it would cost whichever team is bringing him in...cap wise over the 21/22 season?
2 years 47.4 million.

First round picks are over rated.

Cam, if I'm a player, is the one that bothers me, because he should've gotten to play out that last year on his contract here at the very least considering his history, experience, resume, and stature within Panthers' history.
Isn't this why we hated Rivera?
If you want to say Cam shoulda gotten to play out his last year because he was good enough. Sure. But you seemed to have listed everything but his actual playing ability. And Rivera was constantly roasted for playing the "vet" with "history, experience, etc"

Panthers not getting any calls doesn't mean there isn't interest.
Most likely they called everyone who woulda been interested. So no need to receive a call.
If Darnold is getting calls from multiple teams. Someone would be interested in Teddy if the price is right. It may just first involve said team swinging and missing with other ideal targets.

Lance does, anyone that breaks the film down can attest
I appreciate how you used the word "film". As in the singular form. Not plural.

Ah yes.
Zach Wilson should be dismissed because of his competition.
And we should go after Trey Lance.
This makes sense.
