Watching SGA tonight for OKC and he’s a 26 year old 6’6 PG currently considered the favorite for MVP. Drafted by the Charlotte Hornets. Hornets also infamously drafted Kobe Bryant and traded him during the draft. What are some other historically bad (in retrospect) draft-day trades that compare to the Hornets-be-Hornetsing?

Then you think he IS crazy because he doesn’t/didn’t. If the Panthers didn’t want to win the game, they wouldn’t have. The Panthers organization didn’t want to lose this game for 2 draft spots. It’s bigger than that.

Do you think our GM would trade today’s performance and results to move up 2 spots in the draft? Honest question. It’s his job/career.

I just watched the movie “Air” for the first time. Amazing cast, tells the story of Nike’s Air Jordan brand, but was somewhat underwhelmed by the movie. Just curious if anyone else has seen it and your thoughts on it (or even less the movie but moreso Jordan’s story)…? Ask Dave Canales, Dan Morgan, Bryce Young, most fans, and the Panthers locker room how important this win was. That’s the only thing that matters right now, “measurable” or not.

There will rarely, if ever, be a draft with only 5 “blue chippers”. And the odds that they go 1-5 is even more unlikely. Football is a team sport and culture means winning. The Packers, Steelers, Vikings, Ravens, etc rarely draft high but have elite culture and identity and cultivate/train elite talent. Bengals hit the lottery with Burrow and then Chase (and Higgins) yet their culture sucks…and it’s a matter of time before those elites want a change of scenery. Winning and culture comes first and is the ONLY thing. You don’t tank to succeed in the NFL.

Don’t give up on MKG, his jump shot is still developing. And supposedly Noah Vonleh looked great this off-season…keep the faith Hornet Nation.

The Panthers are a bad team that needs an experienced, talented backup QB to challenge Bryce Young. And potentially start over him. Our fanbase also needs some fun for once. Jameis Winston does more for Carolina’s future than Andy Dalton.

He needs to compete. That’s why he got better, he got benched. He’s never been benched in his life and it was a shock to him. It’s been handed to him. Bring someone legit in and make him honestly earn it. It’ll make him better if nothing else. And the team.

I want Bryce and Jameis (or similar, Hendon Hooker, Dalton, rookie, etc) competing in preseason for the starting gig. Nothing given, gotta earn it for Bryce. He needs competition, he’s never really had that in his young life. Compete, get benched, get back up, be better.

Nevermind LOL Jameis being Jameis. But it’s still an intriguing comparison of different careers for a #1 overall.
