  1. A lot of this is NFL FOs hubris at work. They're convinced they know none of these QBs are a franchise guy, and they're gonna show us. Just like 20 some teams thought Aaron Rodgers was a system QB, and just as many thought Lamar Jackson was just a RB, and all 32 teams passed over Russell Wilson at least twice. It's a joke. I almost guarantee every single one of the big name guys left right now will be better pros than Sam fuging Darnold. Hell, Howell was projected as a potential #1 overall pick after the 2020 season... now all of a sudden he can't play football?
  2. I dont give a poo what he did in college. The point was Norris said people watched these QBs as though they're all horrible. I watched Sam in college and thought he would be exactly what he is now. These same scouts watched him too, and yet decided despite the fact that he's a complete spaz, struggled to be decisive and accurate as a passer, and repeatedly forced throws and turned the ball over incessantly, that he was worthy of a third overall pick. So, my point being, what they think doesn't mean poo. They don't always get it right.
  3. And yet, the NFL/Jets drafted Sam Darnold at #3 overall a few years ago. Could mean something, but also could mean nothing.
  4. Ooooooh yeah, I forgot all about Monday. Was just thinking more about how it always seems they desperately want to move off Cousins.
  5. I think the Vikings HAVE to go QB. Right???
  6. Funny enough, I've been thinking about him a lot over the last 24 hours in how his draft experience mirrors what is happening now with these QBs.
  7. Absolutely not. If it was solely up to him, I'm sure his ideal approach isn't any rookie but rather another retread/another team's leftovers because of the better chance to win now. Luckily for us, I don't think he's in the driver's seat anymore. I honestly wouldn't mind moving up to get one of these rookie QBs, and if the reports are true, also trade a 3rd day pick for Mayfield and may the best man win.
  8. Welp, @Mr. Scot... they didn't take him, or any other QB, at either pick.. a bit surprised, but happy because if we make a move, the value gets better for us.
  9. I think so. Two back to back picks. It makes sense. And if they don't, the fall continues and works in our favor. Someone else posted in one of the threads that Dan Patrick was reporting that according to his sources, no teams were touching Willis until the 3rd. I think if that holds true, it is reflective more of his level of comp and inconsistency as a passer holding more weight with scouts than his potential.
  10. Seattle gotta go Willis with one of these picks. Funny enough, I have said if he actually develops into his potential, he could be a Russell Wilson-type talent... and that would suck that we finally got that guy out of the NFC if they get his replacement the same year lol.
  11. I said it last night, and I'll say it again... the value is there now.
  12. Titans immediately ready with pick. Gotta think its willis or ridder
  13. Gotta feeling if it happens, Smitty won't be invited back to do the preseason games this year.
  14. And tbh, never discount those assholes in NO. I wouldn't be surprised if they catch wind of this and try to take Howell.
  15. I'd rather hear Brown is being shopped. Robby isn't going to net enough to move up to where we need to go. Also, I know I'm in the minority here, but I think he,xll return to his 2020 form with an actual NFL-caliber QB (if we get one) and OC this season.
  16. I haven't been shy about it, Scot. I know you have always loved the big ugliest, and I always appreciated them, I just never liked the idea of using our first rounder on them. I knew it was sometimes necessary, but especially in the infancy years of the huddle, I just preferred to either sign guys or find late round gems and use the first rounders for the big splash/playmaker/sexy picks. I wanted production that was quantitative. But boy oh boy... let me tell you how much my mind has changed since those days. Seeing a generational talent get destroyed and effectively have his career/peak shortened definitely hastened my shifting perspective. We needed a franchise tackle, and if that takes the first pick, you go get them... and we did. Couldn't be happier.
  17. The ability to read a defense and make a decision without pissing down his leg.
  18. Brown can pack his poo and leave... get in the first few picks tonight and get Willis. We won't miss Brown.
  19. Take it from Proudiddy. I hate using first rounders on OL, and I fuging love this pick. I thought there was absolutely no way he fell to us... something finally fell in our favor and we have a franchise tackle for the first time since Gross, with the potential to be the best we have ever had. *SHWWWWWING!*
