GO GET HIM!!! Dude is a baller and super physical for his size. Love his game. Make it happen, Fitt!
-
Yeah, if he could be had for a 7th and we could offload Teddy elsewhere, you do that immediately... it is a great insurance plan in case Watson doesn't materialize.
-
Eww... would've been interested 2 or 3 years ago. This dude would've been available in August.

Man, that sucks... really wanted him back and feel like he's just coming into his own, but once we didn't extend him going into last season, this was pretty much a certainty. That being said, it's not a ton of money, and I feel like we could've managed to sign him to something similar, and if I was a young receiver looking for a bigger role, why would I sign with a team that doesn't even have a QB in place under a coach that wasted my talent previously with his archaic offensive philosophy? Weird. I guess he really likes Ron.

When 8 of your 11 losses were directly a result of your failures at QB, then yes, you are one player away.

No, but seriously, what are we waiting on? Wouldn't they want to do it before the draft?
-
I've wanted us to go after him for 2 or 3 years now, as he would be the perfect remedy for a lot of our woes... but, problem is, the rumors about us being interested in him have been out there, much like Drummond, for the aforementioned last 2 to 3 years, and yet, here we are. I'll believe it when I see it.

Seems like one guy "reports" or floats something into the ether and then 3 to 4 more people regurgitate it on Twitter and voila! It becomes gospel. I mean, it could turn out to be true, but two months ago, we were his preferred destination. I think there's a lot of posturing and leveraging going on and we're in it until we aren't... and if we aren't, I'll still be excited to take a young QB with our top pick and move on from Teddy, period.
-
Wtf???? They were like 858M over the cap, and we actually had room and made no attempt to sign him?
-
He WAS a good young player, but haven't seen him much since the injuries... And the ACLs wouldn't bother me, but the achilles definitely does.
-
I wouldn't either, but the timing of it made it seem urgent.
-
Well, I thought the timing of the Kerr release surely meant we were on the verge of another deal that required that space... I guess not.
-
Fit must not have been a fan, because he balled out last year and was on a cheap deal, so this move makes zero sense... So, this seems pretty stupid. Now, if it means we got Curtis back, then I will reverse course immediately.
-
Any word on Samuel?
-
Has he primarily played LT so far?
-
Yeah, Njoku has been the guy I wanted since last year, but the more time that has passed, I think the less likely he's moved. That would be ideal though.
-
My theory is that Rhule's influence is heavy on these moves. Maybe they sign them bc they feel they have more physical talent than the guys we currently have, and if he can get them in here and coach them up, then it will bring out the best in them. That's the only optimistic take I have, because my usual cynical self is wondering why tf we just signed two scrubs on the first day of FA and spent more on them than had we just re-signed the scrubs we already had.
-
Ehh, that Jonnu Smith deal makes it look a lot less likely we can sign Henry to a cap-friendly deal. Happy for Cam though.

What does Moton tag mean for Curtis Samuel?
Proudiddy replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Prepare yourselves... I'm thinking he ends up with the Giants. I've been a huge Samuel fan and wish there was a way we could bring him back, but I have a feeling he ends up a Giant. -
Trai was a bum when he was here... he strictly got reputation off of name-recognition and from his stature coming out of college. To be as big and as talented as he was/is, he was one of the main guys letting Cam get beat up on all those years. That being said, he is better than Reed, but thats a really low bar. If he wants to come back on a dirt cheap deal and see how he does, that's up to him, but he isn't changing much.
