And it's hilarious Geno is outplaying Russ too.

Also love seeing Matt Ryan looking like poo. Had he not been paired with the receiving group he had been his whole career who constantly bailed him out for throwing ducks, he wouldn't have even been average. Yet he rode all-world weapons to a counterfeit MVP. fug him too.

This. I love seeing this. fug the Broncos. May they and Wilson's corny ass wallow in obscurity forever more. Denver deserves nothing less. This is glorious... their struggles I mean, because this game fuging sucks lol.

Good times

It's this. A bulk of the blame has to go on playcalling. And yeah, Baker's stature might play a part in it, no doubt... but, as I mentioned elsewhere, explain Cam's Miami game last year where he had like 5 batted passes at the LOS. I can't recall him ever having more than 2 in a game before. Nothing ever memorable enough to be a problem or emblazoned in memory until that Miami game. Then check the post game pressers on multiple games so far this year where Rhule admitted defenses either took away the pass or batted the ball on a key play late and he admits, we were trying to run an RPO. Check the tape. He's admitted it at least twice this year, possibly at least 3 times... Which leads me back to playcalling. John Ellis also pointed out that vs the Cards, Watt stopped his rush on the 4th down play because he recognized the formation or setup or whatever it was, adjusted his angle, and just waited in the passing lane and deflected it. Now back to Cam against Miami. As we know, Cam is 6'5", and we saw his body of work before Rhule. Deflections have nothing to do with arm strength, for those that want to question that. Nothing about Cam changed that would increase his chances of having passes batted at the LOS. But what did change since we last saw him? Rhule. And we have now seen batted balls being an issue for at least two years. What have we heard most often from opponents about of system, both offensively and defensively? It's "college stuff." What is a staple of college in offense? RPOs. What had Rhule admitted in pressers that we run incessantly this year, often citing because it worked earlier in the game? RPOs. And then you have Orlovsky's discovery about the alignment. Teams know what we're doing before we do it. Deflections are about timing and anticipation, so if they did it to Cam, they knew what was coming. I called it during that game last year that it seemed so weird and unbelievable that a team would be able to deflect that many passes of him at the LOS. The only thing I could figure is they knew what was coming and where the passes were going to. And the more time that has passed since, especially what we've seen this year, proves exactly that. With Baker, it's even more exacerbated because of his height, but we're running the same exact poo. Honestly, we were prolly running it a ton with Teddy but teams hadn't had all the film on us yet. Notice the struggles that started about a year to a year and a half in under Rhule. They've figured him out. McAdoodoo is an idiot, but the foundation of the offense is Rhule's... and teams know what is coming and when it is coming, and when its an RPO, they take away the quick read/pass option and the DLinemen stop their rush and attempt the deflection... and Baker being 6 foot makes it all the easier to.

Our offense is Knute Rockne's wet dream.

Damn, Hackett already feeling the heat. And honestly, I keep saying Rhule won't be fired until the end of the season out of mental self-preservation, but I keep really hoping that isnt the case. With each week that he's still here, I keep finding myself amazed that even when I try to view our situation objectively, I can't believe Rhule is still employed. Even if you assume he has the most patient (if not stupid) owner in football, there I'd absolutely no way he should still be here. None. And with each week he's still here it just adds to the frustration because there is no upside. It just makes no sense.
-
But what does it matter? Because my belief is that it is Rhule pushing the RPO stuff as a staple of the offense, and the RPO is a huge reason we keep passing and getting balls deflected. Teams know when we're doing it and we just keep doing it... and by nature, it's giving Baker the choice of running or passing, and we keep trying to pass. The whole thing is a mess.
-
I've seen people argue that he shouldn't be fired because then we might turn it around and ruin our draft position for a rebuild. I disagree. There is talent on this team, but firing Rhule won't fix it. There literally is no structure or culture in place that would supplement and support even a new coach taking the reins. We may win a game or two more than Rhule otherwise, but the team is so broken, firing Rhule won't magically turn it around in-season. Again, it is clear, especially offensively that there is no scheme in place that it would make a a difference. That is going to take at least a full offseason to revamp... Firing Rhule needs to happen now because it's the right thing to do, and it sends the message that continued, sustained failure and ineptitude will not be tolerated. It allows us to start cleaning up the mess he has made, and we need to get started on that ASAP because it is going to take much longer than it does for most organizations due to just how bad he's been. We need to get a headstart on repairing our image and reputation. The longer we hold onto him, the more damage he does and the longer it will take to fix it.

Same.

And we had 8 rushing attempts last week. ...and again, how is Rhule still employed?
-
I've been saying it... every single one that has come here with any established history has the worst year of their careers. BY A LOT. It simply is amazing that he is still employed because by all observable metrics he has not shown one single encouraging sign. He has gotten worse and offensively, we have gotten worse every year.

Batted passes. Ickey is gonna have his hands full though.

Difference being, CAM. Again, no other player can affect the outcome of games more than or as much as QBs. They literally touch the ball every play they're out there, and Cam was a threat to run or throw a TD on every single play. We don't have that now. And honestly, as I've said repeatedly, this coaching staff would make any QB look like 1/10th of themselves. No player, no team, nobody is overcoming this inept staff. Nobody. It is impossible. And if you are still holding onto hope that the coaches will miraculously figure it out, namely Rhule, after 3 years of not doing just that- go watch his presser post-game yesterday... he has never been more dejected or defeated. He couldn't even BS himself. He had zero answers and absolutely no energy. He's done. We know it and he knows it. Just a matter of time of when it becomes official... and again, if he had any integrity he would've quit last season. He pretty much acknowledged college teams have expressed interest... so he is really trying to force Tepper to fire him at this point so he can get two paychecks. Good times.

Leftwich, Dorsey, Payton, Flores in no particular order, but I do prefer offensive-minded.

Just a friendly reminder about today's victory...

PFF grades from Panthers' Week 4 loss to Cardinals

Moton might be playing hurt, but he's so just playing for a check at this point. As are a lot of our guys. They're in a hole they don't know how to get out of... and the guy that's supposed to be showing them the light at the surface just keeps throwing more dirt on them. -
It definitely is. Which I alluded to in my post... guys learn to turn their "competitor" off, because once they see the coaches are inept, it's their only way to cope with being stuck here. It sucks... and the longer he's here, the more of that it creates and it spreads.
-
Ahh yes! But point remains... not many guys who have a shot to get 1 of only 32 jobs in the world withdraw their name from consideration unless something is really off.

I actually decided to deep-dive into it with a several paragraph tirade, but no lie... hearing the ping-pong in the background and the laughable amateurish, organizational breakdown powerpoint slide that Philly pointed out were my first two impressions from this thread. And in all seriousness, I think the sound of them playing ping-pong and laughing while Moton stumbles and yammers a whole lot of nothing in his response really stirred up something deep in me... nothing says IDGAF more than that clip. Not saying guys can't have fun, but I know as a competitor, when i lost, i took it to heart. I wouldnt have been hanging around playing table tennis. I'd be watching film, i'd be studying my mistakes, etc... Initially, seeing the clip and hearing all that, I laughed, but then it took me right back to that feeling of that cloud hanging over us in 2002. Difference is, it's been three years of this poo... it's gonna be really, really hard to clean this up.

Well, again, this staff was assembled as the the Island of Misfit Coaches. No one that had other viable options would come here (no offense to Campen and Wilks), and again, even ones that were already employed and under contract here left for better options - some for lateral moves and some for even lesser options - just to get away from Rhule and his sinking ship. None of these guys are here because of fit or a willingness to work for Rhule, and none are here because Rhule wanted them. It's the perfect formula for the trainwreck we see every Sunday.

Really disappointed to hear Moton's response, but it's what I expected and it is reflective of what I have speculated is going on - and that's a team leader/captain. What I speculated is that players aren't bucking back or speaking out because they're comfortable. And that's why I, and many other Panther lifers, are lamenting to much about the damage Rhule is doing... Remember the lull they talked about that was in the locker room when we went from Fox to Rivera? And remember the even more heavy and evident ghosts that hovered in and around the team when we hired Fox after Siefert? I remember reading specifically about the culture around the team when Fox came on as HC. The feel I got from the pieces I read back then was it was the team's culture when he arrived was almost like someone died, except it was everyday... the team was down, morale was bottomed out, and guys really were just going through the motions. Fox came in and made some early declarations about what was going to be expected and it was pretty clear a lot of guys weren't going to makeit through the transition because the culture was going to be drastically different. Rivera had a less dramatic transition taking over after Fox, as his was more a results-based, experience-rooted example form of quiet leadership, but still a noticeable transition to make as the lame duck year from Fox and the acrimony that carried over was palpable. But really, going back to Fox's intro here, it was well documented that it was an intensive, almost jarring jolt of energy when he came in that shook the team. Why? Because guys had gotten comfortable. They had got comfortable doing the minimum. They got comfortable not being accountable. They got comfortable taking shortcuts and not facing consequences. They got comfortable making mistakes. They got comfortable because they lost hope, so they acclimated and adapted to what was accepted rather than chasing expectations or goals. I look at it as doing what's accepted versus what is expected. I can tell you, as a coach what I expect, but if I start accepting less, you will always give me just enough but not more. And that brings me to my last point, they got comfortable losing. It's a natural byproduct of going through the motions. If I'm naturally competitive, as these guys are, and I'm now locked in a 5 year contract, and i see i'm stuck with Coach Hov for the forseeable future, knowing there is no hope to turn it around, my brain is gonna shift into autopilot to spare my pride and ego of the pain I am sure to endure that comes with hopeless and helpless losing. It's a natural survival instinct that our brain goes to in order to minimize pain. It happens. And if it happens to enough guys, it becomes the norm. You forget how to win. You're OK with just doing your job and going home because hey, what can you alone do? We're seeing all the hallmarks of that now. Guys committing stupid penalties, inexcusable mental lapses, fumbles, batted passes, completely blowing assignments time after time after time, after time... and what happens? Usually nothing. Are there repercussion? Nope. So they just keep doing the same stuff. Clock in, clock out, go home. That's what we just heard from Moton. Rhule definitely didn't build a "culture" here, he simply destroyed the existing one... and it's gonna take a long time to fix it once he's gone, and a lot of guys, even good ones, axe gonna get the are because of it. He mentally broke them.

Oh, I had different expectations when I read the thread title. I thought you were asking should they stage a walkout and resign in protest. Yes. They should, and everyone else with any sense. Tepper is a loser and he's bringing everybody down with him.
