This team isn't even close to being where it needs to be. Mitch has his work cut out for him the next 1-2 years, we badly need to put together a good enough team around LaMelo to convince him to stay here. He says all the right things but if we keep sucking he's as good as gone. Start by getting a center and some player who can frigging defend.

I had been putting PJ in pretty much every machine trade but seeing that he is the only Big we have that can defend - I don't know if we should give him away.. but if we get Sabonis, Turner or Nurkic - I guess I'm fine with it..

I mentioned a few months ago that Biz was looking better and better to grab on a vet min deal - but he's getting minutes on a Phoenix team and we would have to hope his 10day expires and we can grab him..

these are just ideas to help our defense, maybe not great ideas - but we need to do something.. we are one of the highest scoring teams in the league but still at .500.. if we can play a little better on D - the wins can start piling up

if we are hovering around .500 by Christmas - I will view it as a huge win.. Then we have the rest of the calendar to feast at home, a lot.. we won't have more than 2 consecutive away games until April..

if we win tomorrow - we will be exactly at .500

I said that before we got hit with Covid.. Wow.. that's great - but now the expectations in the 2nd half are increased.. no more moral victories - I want W's and to hop into the top 4-6 seed

    let's go..

  3. Hayward averages 18.5ppg - 5 rpg - 5apg

with Bridges taking the leap he has - and for Gordon to still get his buckets - I ain't mad at him at all.. he has been solid for us..

if we package him to get someone like Turner - awesome - but we don't need to move him by any means.. his contract is big but that's the life of a small market team.. gotta overpay for stars..

Hell no…they should play with no players like we had to do…and are still doing

kinda my thoughts.. im sure they got players on their G-league team they'd have to call up (just like we did)..

that's 2 likely loses vs Pistons & Raptors that will most likely be wins when played at full strength later in the season.. awesome advantage to big market teams while we are forced to play guys like Arnoldas Kulboka, Scottie Lewis and Vernon Carey...

    complete bs

  5. Our Front Office believed we had a winning football team and made a series of moves because they were in "Win Now" mode.

We are now starring down a Top10 draft pick and couldn't be farther from being considered a contender. We have gotten out over our skis before and made moves that hurt us in the long term.

Hurney did it with the Everett Brown and Otah draft picks
Gettlemen did it with the Funchess and Darryl Williams draft picks
Fitterer did it with the Darnold, Henderson and Gilmore

Other teams have done it with the Dream Team Eagles and also this current Rams team.. I will forever be warry of teams that say they are in "Win Now" mode as an excuse to give up assets. Some moves that have been made are actually solid trades - but the feelings behind the trades are what irk me - if we were not in "Win Now" mode would we still have made the move for Gilmore or Henderson?

does vernon carey still play for us?

Vern, Thor, Bouk and Kai have all been sent the Greensboro a few times..

After looking over stats - the team sucks so +/- is bad all around but you can still take a few things away from the minute played..

Vern has been pedestrian in the G-league - and this is his 2nd year.. Thor seems to have been more productive and it's still his 1st go round

Bouk went off for 33pts in Greensboro.. Kai looks to be learning his spot.. I'm sure it's not easy being with the Hornets and going back and forth to Greensboro and playing a team sport but it's pretty obvious Bouknight is an NBA player and Vern might not be..

  7. So I was smart and decided to go to the pumpkin patch with the family on the Sunday we played the Giants. I checked in on the game routinely and was able to chuckle in disbelief at what was going on - but my mental health was spared for an afternoon and I was truly able to enjoy my weekend. Needless to say, after that loss - I had the team written off and it was freeing. I wasn't depressed or really upset - I was completely comfortable and I knew I would not put another ounce of emotion into the team. For all intents and purposes, we were gearing up for the draft at that point.
    NYG loss = Apathy

But somehow our .500 record and a win against a terrible Atlanta team kept a glimmer of hope alive inside me somewhere. I foolishly went into the game against the Pats thinking Darnold just might be able to game-manage us into a win if our defense played well. Looking back - I'm sure if I my eyes witnessed the Giants game - I would have known Darnold was reliable as a wet cardboard box... After the Pats game - I probably was feeling like a lot of you: my mouth agape while staring back at the wake of sh!t streaks this staff had just dragged across the living room carpet. Releasing Cam, signing Teddy, trading for Darnold, picking up his 5th year option, and so on.. My emotions were at an all-time low with this team.. However, I was not hurting.. I was angry and upset but there was no real pain. I was clear in my convictions of the staff and decision makers from top to bottom.
    NE loss = Anger

Fast forward to signing Cam. I had off work for Veterans Day and was running errands and hadn't heard that we were toying with bringing him in - I just got the news right as we signed him. I don't believe I have felt that much joy in quite some time. To then back that up with the win in ARZ and the way it all went down. Then to have the buildup for a homecoming of a lifetime.. but walk out with a "L" is just.. The feelings are very raw and it hurts 100x more than the other 2 weeks.. I went on a walk after the game and tried to process it all.. Putting so much stock into something I have ZERO control over.. It seems so silly but I'm sure a lot of ya'll can relate..
    WFT loss = Hurt

Anyways - I'm just venting and thought how weird it was after 3 losses from the same team to have such a vast difference in emotions afterwards.. Some huddlers might feel inclined to call me a b!tch or to "suck it up - it's just a game" = I hear you 100%.. noted.. I just wanted to get this out and move onto Miami..

  8. Turner = Plumlee + PJ + Bouknight

    Turner = Plumlee + PJ + 1st Rnd (Pelicans)

It's a lot.. but I think I might do it..

The way Miles is balling out - you gotta give him the bag this offseason, period.. Miles cannot, CAN NOT leave this team.. with that in mind, PJ becomes unaffordable and we will need to get something back for him before he expires.. better to trade him this year to get ahead of the curve..

adding Plumlee is easy for me..

adding Bouknight is the rub.. I'd much rather throw in that 1st Rnd pick (which is really two 2nds).. I think Indy would bite if they keep losing and PJ comes back and plays well for a month or so..

    PG - Ball - Smith
    SG - Rozier - Martin
    SF - Hayward - Oubre
    PF - Miles - McD
    C - Turner - Richards

  9. Wizards were 8-42 = .190% from 3pt land...
their terrible shooting was huge.. they got wide open looks and were ice cold.. they kept shooting them too.. every time they dumped it down low, they got a bucket or a foul.. we got lucky, tbh..

I am still celebrating the Win but know that if they hit 4 more of those 3's and went 12-42 = .285% it's still a terrible shooting night - but it's a whole different game..

  10. We have a BRUTAL front loaded schedule with 4 road trips and our 2 West Coast trips.. we already took our 1st WC trip and that didn't go great, to say the least.. these next 2 mini-trips are down the East Coast and in the Midwest.. then we quickly pack it up and ship it out West again..

Washington (elbow) returned to practice Tuesday, but he will still be listed as out for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards.

Washington will miss his seventh straight game Wednesday, but his return to action appears to be on the horizon. Before his injury, the 6-foot-7 forward was averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 21.1 minutes per game.
