I hear you but if we can’t one of the top 2 QBs I would seriously resign Sam and wait. Our team can get great with these picks and I ain’t done with Sam.
I'm done with Sam long-term.. but I wouldn't mind him in the short-term while our [insert] rookie QB learns the ropes.. especially if we end up taking Richardson..

appreciate all the love..
gonna work up an offensive highlight reel soon..

I think they are not the same at all. Washington is honestly a good run blocker that has a freakish build and could probably serve as a 6th lineman/pass option in addition to being TE.
Washington is still pretty raw, but Ian Thomas was drafted solely for being an athletic TE. He honestly was good at nothing else, and that point has been proven (although I guess he has improved some at blocking).
The TE from South Dakota St. is another TE that could be worth a look
If we draft a TE - I want a TE that caught more than 45 balls over 3 years..
7 in 2020
10 in 2021
28 in 2022Dalton Kincaid caught 70 in 2022
Michael Meyer caught 67 in 2022
Sam Laporta caught 58 in 2022- 1

There is definitely a good crop of TEs in this draft.
Mayer, Musgrave, Washington, & Kincaid all have potential to be studs to me. Hopefully 1 of Musgrave, Washington, or Kincaid is available with our 2nd round pick (Mayer will likely be gone).
Washington reminds me of Ian Thomas.. a huge monster of a man but there is no way he can run the route tree Olsen could run and the necessary shifty/speed to create separation from NFL CBs and LBs..
Musgrave or Kincaid are guys I think we can get with one of our 2nd rounders or even LaPorta or Latu in the 3rd..

Based on the coaches we are bringing in and how quickly that info is coming out - that bodes well for Wilks.. these seem to just be "box checking" interviews

Short story and then to the point.. I knew we were going to lose to the Bucs by Sunday morning because I was so amped up Friday night that I started gathering clips and music for a new highlight video i'm putting together.. I never do that - I usually wait til the end of the season - so I apologize for fuggin us over this past Sunday.. it was my fault gents, jk jk..
But that does kinda lead me to the point in the title -> cus the obvious, main reason we lost the game Sunday was our secondary.. plain and simple
We were all upset to see what happened and a few of us were screaming for coaches to put Josh in there.. we know at the very least he will give max effort in tackling and always being right there if it's caught.. watching CJ and Taylor get beat like a drum with NO heart made me think a simple thought - "They aren't Panthers."
You know, I mean.. the Panthers you remember.... the ones that bring a smirk to your face when u tell your friends/kids/fam about them and how they played in small games or the biggest of them all.. the TDs, Lukes, Beason, Mint, Gamble, Chris Harris, (sh*t even the Kraken), Morgan, Spoon, and of course - Sam MF'n Mills.. it's all in the Keep Pounding mantra.. that's what it means to be a Panther.. especially a Panther defenderI know there's more players I cud name but i was rambling.. anyways, THEY gave it their all and I then thought of D.Jax.. and you know what - Yeah, he's has had his rough patches (under Rhule) but I could see him out there this past Sunday rallying guys on the sideline and stepping up and playing with attitude.. Horn has his own moxie for sure, but Donte 'Action' Jackson is different.. he gets the people going, lol.. and the thought made me smirk.. it made me smirk the same way I do when I think about the Real Panthers..
I'm not saying D.Jax is in the same place as those named ^^above, but I am saying I really hope he recovers from his achilles.. I know those injuries are rough to come back from - but D.Jax is a guy I would love to see make it back.. he is a guy I know got the heart in him to make it back because I've seen him play with that same heart..
I know this is a long write up.. my bad.. just got a glimmer of hope and felt I needed to share.. it's been a rough, weird year..
ya'll be good now in 2023- 13

Not sure how the Draft Value Charts work.. how much would it cost to move up from #9 to #2?
Would our 2nd rounder do the job?
-
I hope and pray we get Ken Dorsey as our HC and he retains Wilks for DC..
99.999% chance that Doesn't happen - but I can hope..
-
Right now there are some glaring holes on our Roster. You can rank them how you'd like but I think we are all in Agreement our Top 5-6 needs are as follows:
1- QB, a franchise leader for next 10 years
2- DE, pass rusher opposite Burns
3- TE, route running pass catcher
4- MLB, leader and organizer
5- WR, depending on how TMJ progresses
6- DT, gap filling run stopper
---------------------------------------------
Obviously, you would like to draft people in all those slots and have them on rookie contracts for the next few years - but some picks will be misses and some position just might not have the best player fall to us in the draft and we will need to look for FAs to fill the holes. What position would you be alright with bringing in someone with NFL experience?Free Agent QBs: (Orange = Key players I like)
Lamar, Brady, Baker, Darnold, Jimmy G., Danny Dimes, GenoFree Agent DEs:
Ngakoue, Ebukam, DeMarcus Walker, Dre'Mont Jones, Zack AllenFree Agent TEs:
Evan Engram, Dalton Shultz, Hayden Hurst, Austin Hooper, Mike GesickiFree Agent MLBs:
Lavonte David, Tremaine Edmunds, Denzel Perryman, Kwon AlexanderFree Agent WRs:
Parris Campbell, JuJu Smith-Shuster, Allen Lazard, Jakobi Meyers, Darius SlaytonFree Agent DTs:
Da'Ron Payne, Sheldon Rankins, Greg Gaines, Javon Hargrave, Shy Tuttle- 1
