... the whole concept of the inactive list has always struck me as pointless. Yes the NFL has injuries, lots of them, but since the inactive list doesn't alter your overall roster size in any way, it's still 53, it serves no useful purpose.

Should be all hands on deck with the expanded regular season.  There might have been some rational years ago for an inactive roster, but in today's multi-billion dollar NFL, it is hard to justify leaving any players sitting at home on gameday.

  2. Maybe it's simply the optimism of OTAs and a new season on the horizon, but I'd like to I believe we are witnessing the start of something special for the Carolina Panthers, especially when it comes to the coaching staff and our roster of QBs.

I can't wait for OTA's tmrw so I can stop getting alerts about this random thread I started out of boredom last week lol.

Yeah, its been pretty dead around here lately.  Can't blame you for trying to liven the joint up a bit.

    Bring on the OTAs!

  4. As of today, Sims Top 40 QBs list and $5.00 might get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

By the time regular season play begins, this list will be a distant memory except for some parakeet that might be using it to line the bottom of its cage.

  5. The Panthers coaching staff owes no loyalty to Corral and could have easily sent him packing, but they didn't.

If I'm Corral, I'd take that as a positive sign and make the most of the opportunity provided.

Knowing Brown's playing style, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if he suffered from CTE.  It would certainly help to explain his tendency towards violence.

    That's where I don't get it....

Brady is moving on....why not do the same and go spend the time with your wife and kids that you haven't had in the past 40 years?

Maybe you hate your wife and kids, or maybe they hate you, but gosh, I hope I'm never in that spot.

For good or bad, Bill Belichick will be remembered after the rest of us are long forgotten.  If he cares about his legacy, he'll want to prove it wasn't mostly about hitching his wagon to Tom Brady.

  8. What happened last year is water under the bridge.  Matt's best move now is to make the most of training camp and preseason.   His efforts may generate some interest from other teams, if not the Panthers.  Also, hopefully, he has learned his lesson when it comes to staying off social media.

during the 7th round, I put together a wish list--started a thread but did not see this one.  So I am posting here---bold means we signed them:

ILB:   Bump Poole Oklahoma; Anfernee Orji, Vanderbilt; Isaiah Moore, NC State; Ivan Pace, Cincinnati
OLB/Edge: Eku Leota, Auburn; Andre Carter II, Army; Isaiah Land, Florida A&M; Thomas Incoom, Central Michigan; Tyrus Wheat, Missisippi State
CB:  Mekhi Gardner, LSU; Eli Ricks, Alabama; Rejzohn Wright, Oregon State
DT:  Jerrod Clark, Coastal Carolina (NT): PJ Mustipher, Penn St. (Did not think Redmond would be available)
OT:  John Ojukwu Boise State; Richard Gouraige Florida (t/g) ; Earl Bostic, Kansas
    OC:
OG: Curtis McLendon Chattanooga; Emil Eklyor, Alabama
TE: Noah Gindorff, South Dakota State; Blake Whiteheart Wake Forest; Joel Wilson, Central Michigan
RB: SaRodorick Thompson Texas Tech; Keaton Mitchell, East Carolina

Was hoping to see a TE being picked up by the Panthers.  Hopefully it isn't too late.

  10. I appreciate the optimism, but Sheesh!  Could we at least wait until the team has had its first winning season under Tepper's ownership before anointing him a "major asset"?  Up until about a minute ago, Dave's time as the Panthers owner has been pretty much been a disaster.

I will say that David Tepper remains in the running for the "Most Improved NFL Owner of 2023".  So he's got that going for him.

I don't want to hear anyone else complain about how much we gave up to get the #1 pick. The Jets just got fleeced for a 2-3 year rental.

One AFC championship appearance and it will be considered a good deal. One Super Bowl appearance and the price will appear cheap.  One Super Bowl victory and it will be considered a steal.
