  1. Risk/Reward

Choosing an NFL QB is similar to making any investment.

While there is an element of risk in most investments, taking unnecessary risks often leads to disaster.

CJ appears to have all the skills necessary to lead the Panthers to their ultimate goal and w/a lower level of risk.

So, why would the Panthers take on more risk than necessary with a different QB selection?

I’ve got a friend that’s a Saints fan, and one that’s a Broncos fan. I got carried away, and bet that we’d finish ahead of the saints next year, and have a better record than the Broncos.

Probably got a little ahead of myself, but it’s just $20 bets and I gotta buy them a drink if I lose.

I like your chances of winning those bets.

Panthers have a decent D and the O looks to be better than what most #1 QB picks have to work with.

    - Winning the division appears to be eminently achievable.

Broncos could have a big turn around this season with new talent surrounding Wilson, but they still have to compete with the Chiefs and Chargers.

    - Toss-up.

I don't really have a huge problem with him or anything. I've just noticed he can be kind of a dick.

    You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Here's, somethin', here's somethin' you never will forget.

Year 3 when he wants a new contract.

Is this legit or is this just speculation bc they both visited?

ESPN speculative piece "Panthers might sign" repeated by some rando guy with a twitter account.

Wouldn't be upset if it happens though.

NEW YORK (AP) — Lance Reddick, a character actor who specialized in intense, icy and possibly sinister authority figures on TV and film, including “The Wire,” “Fringe” and the “John Wick” franchise, has died. He was 60.

Reddick died “suddenly” Friday morning, his publicist Mia Hansen said in a statement, attributing his death to natural causes. No further details were provided.

Wendell Pierce, Reddick’s co-star on “The Wire” paid tribute on Twitter. “A man of great strength and grace,” he wrote. “As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class.” “John Wick — Chapter Four” director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves said they were dedicating the upcoming film to Reddick and were “deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss.”

Reddick was often put in a suit or a crisp uniform during his career, playing tall, taciturn and elegant men of distinction. He was best known for his role as straight-laced Lt. Cedric Daniels on the hit HBO series “The Wire,” where his character was agonizingly trapped in the messy politics of the Baltimore police department.

  6. I've come to terms with Young or Stroud and can make a case for either one.

If the Panthers could put Young's brain in Stroud's body we'd have the best of both worlds.

As it is, Young's mastery of the game could make him the most entertaining QB in Panthers history.  Biggest concern is size and durability.  Panthers could be back in the market for a franchise QB in less than 5 years.

Stroud is less entertaining, but his throwing motion is pristine.  CJ could end up being the best throwing QB in Panthers history.  CJ is built like a prototypical franchise QB.  Panthers might be set at QB for 10 or more years.

Bottom line:  Young's candle may burn twice as bright and last half as long.

In the end Jordan is doing what he's always done. What's best for him. Sucks but it's the truth and why the team has been mostly crap.

    Sad, but unfortunately true.

MJ really could have made a difference if he actually cared.

Look at Tepper, made some serious missteps over the last 5 years, but he seems to be making an effort to turn things around.  Can't ask much more of a team owner than that.

Hopefully, MJ can find a new owner for the Hornets that will finally give a damn.
