Willis at least still has a chance to be a good NFL qb.
willis is going to be given a real opportunity, pj walker hasn't had that.

Listen op, pj walker is a backup, know what that means? no matter what you or i say, people will never look past that. you have made excellent points, but panther fans are still arguing with you. they are essentially the same person. only difference is malik willis got lucky with the draft hype and pj walker didn't.

Thank you! Sam is scared and so would anyother qb be behind this line.
No. Mental toughness is a thing, getting the ball out quickly is something sam doesnt do.

But it's ok for Robby to chew him out on the sideline…
Yes. A teammate can do that. Fans can give constructive criticism but robby is right, a lot of fans are fickle, and hyper emotional.

Nah. Nagy has a 12-4, 8-8, 8-8 record with the Bears. And yes a poo year this year. But up until now he has been an average coach. And still, at this moment, has won more games than lost as NFL HC.
Yes, he’s done as a HC but Rhule couldn’t hold his jockstrap…as sad as that is.
Could also be because Rhule has only been coaching at the NFL for a year.

Approaching this from the coldheartedly realistic side...
It's not Matt Rhule's job to give Cam Newton a proper sendoff or to make his fans happy. We sh-t all over Ron Rivera for trying to give older players storybook endings, and rightly so.
Rhule's job is to win professional football games, and if benching Cam Newton is the best way to do that, he'd be thoroughly justified in doing so.
That's a perfectly valid argument...
...with one major flaw
Matt Rhule has shown quite clearly that he doesn't really know how to win professional football games, so why should we trust his judgment on this decision anymore than we trust it on others?
Me? I'm no professional but of it were my ass on the line, I'd keep Newton as the starter through the rest of the season.
...
Course, if it were my ass on the line, I'd like to think I wouldn't have hired a college coaching staff to do a professional job
these losses are so unnecessary , that 2 qb system works for the panthers. let pj drive downfield, and cam finishes it off however cam sees fit. but rhule is now scared of upsetting the fans by putting pj back in. they brought cam back because you guys wanted cam back and now that isn't even working.
-
Dj moore is not coming back this off season. i believe he will get what he needs to get over 1000 yards, i also think he will be on the eagles or the ravens next year.

I think panthers win it. an upset, led by defense. i believe both defenses will be thumping. low score game, 24 - 16, panthers.
-
panthers fans : stop coddling sam!
then proceeds to coddle cam newton.
cam newton throws 2 int? panthers fans: whats the big deal? its only 2.
pj walker throws an int: go back to the XFL! never mind that you drove us downfield to score a touchdown right afterwards and cam couldn't get the 2pt conversion.

can we stop doing this thing we're we criticize with no context? pj walker is not a starter, cam is, sam was, teddy was. pj walker does not have the same practice nor has he had any development. he hasn't even started enough games to have proper development. yall are talking about him like he's been a starter for 10 years, like cam. why are we even comparing a backup with very little experience to someone who has been a starter for 10 years?

its almost like Brady takes an average to meh team and makes it a superbowl winner. Huh.
no. more like andy reid change the way he handles the offense and the rest of team did the work.

7-9?
they have pretty much the same roster before brady especially on the offense.

Pretty sure last years SB disproves your theory.
no it doesn't. bucs were already a good team without brady, brady went to an already stacked team, he was their game manager. the patriots had an injury prone cam newton, who has never been great as a game manager pocket passer, add that to the fact that last year a huge portion of patriot starters opted out.

Like when Matt Cassel won the Patriots a Superbowl in 2008? Lol...
outlier. belichick has a system, and as long as you are at least decent qb, you're going to the playoffs. that, and the fact that the patriots have always had a cupcake schedule, they play in one of the easiest divisions.

Like others have said, Cam starts the rest of the year no question. But I really think they messed up not sticking with the 2 QB system they had against the Cardinals. PJ has shown he can move the offense between the 20s he just STINKS in the red zone. If Cam is serious about wanting to win then he will understand.
Pj doesnt stink on the redzone, he made a few mistakes and carolina fans held it against him because they already dont like him.

Then is irrelevant.
Who he is now is relevant, and unclear. Is Cam the guy who went 21 of 27 and 2 TD's? Is he the guy who 5 of 21 with 2 INT's? I don't know. Neither does anyone else. It's no different than Darnold after the Eagles game. Do you assume that the Eagles game defined him? No. Of course not. One game doesn't define any player.
Thus, the reason to keep playing him is to reveal the truth of what he can be right now. Has nothing to do with feel good stories, has everything to do with sorting out what we do next year.
Yeah it does. Sam is who he always was. It was only carolina fans who thought they could change him. It's so weird to me, that yall will make this argument and then in the same breathe refuse to give PJ walker the same leeway and PJ walker hasn't had nearly the same opportunities. And hes still 2-0.

I am fairly certain you might be the only person on the planet who feels this way.
Brady is one of the best of all time because he makes quick and smart decisions and accurate throws under pressure, especially when the game is on the line. This is an ability that is far, far more important than athleticism in a qb. Regarding arm strength, its dropped off over the years, but at one time, he certainly had good downfield strength and accuracy.
No I'm not. A lot of people may be too scared of the backlash, but no I'm not, I cant be it's too many people in the world.

Not that hard-
Cam is injury-prone.
OL is in the bottom 10% in everything.
New play-caller and Rhule wants to run the ball.
Cam gets hurt at some point soon.
Your sliver sam is ready to come off IR
Its that easy.
Side note- My personal feel is Rhule wants Cam to fail and Rhule to still save his panther peeks(somehow).... Watch for this in the coming weeks....
deonte brown just got activated. brown and christensen on the left, eflein on center, moton and jordan on the right. thats not an entirely bad o line. not good, but just good enough to win.

I would just rotate them both. Cam in for a series. Pj in for a series. Fug it.
so many people are against this, but it worked on the best team in the west, the cardinals.

Start Cam, let him have his fun when/if he has a good game, let the fans have their fun when/if that happens. Start fresh next season with Sam as the backup, Cam and PJ gone, and lord knows who has our starter as we once again have a losing season.
no. panthers can still win the division, playing cam despite him playing a bad game is not cool especially if you wanna win. only other team to worry about in the nfc is the bucs. and they are beatable.

Cam plays QB the rest of the year. Period. You need to find out to the greatest extent possible whether he can be an NFL QB in his current condition - whatever that might be. If the answer is that he can be a QB, you can likely get him cheaper than any other QB you may consider. The guy was on his couch remember.
we know who cam is then and now. only reason to keep playing him is for feel good stories at this point.

Get the fug out of here with this retarded argument. Godalmighty what a fuging stupid take this is.
yeah. plug in any other solid qb and he would have a super bowl too. tom brady doesn't carry teams, he doesn't have the arm or athleticism to do that. mac jones is on his way because of the team, not mac jones.
PJ Walker vs Malik Willis
in Carolina Panthers

there is not technical about it, pj walker played against real competition every season. willis did not most of the time, and the few games he did play against real competition like ol miss, he played bad.
