Couple of those you'd be very unlikely to get...

Peters is heir apparent to the 49ers job. Dodds already interviewed here and pulled himself out of the search. Ian Cunningham and Brandt Tillis also interviewed for jobs here previously.

Kirchner is a longtime friend of Scott Fitterer (so is Morgan). Not sure how they'd view the job. Ryan Grigson was dog sh-t as Colts GM and might also be friends with Frank Reich.

One name scares me a little bit for other reasons, Catherine Raiche. It's not that she scares me because she's female, but I don't really know that much about her career. My fear is if she gets a look here, It won't necessarily be because she's the best candidate but rather because Tepper would want to make a big splashy headline again by hiring the first female GM in the NFL.

That's all well and good if she's truly great at her job. If it's for the sake of headlines, not so much. I don't know enough about her to say for sure...

...but I know plenty about Tepper, and what I know isn't good 😕

Just because Kirchner and Morgan has worked with Fit doesn’t mean they would be like him as GM. Just because some of the guys I’ve mentioned has interviewed before doesn’t mean they wouldn’t get the nod or wouldn’t accept the position as GM. Some of those named is bringing them in as possible assistant GM’s. These are my opinions!

  2. These are just my opinions, but a new GM would have to let the Teppers know they want control over front office or assurance they would majority control over front office!

I would let Scott Fitterer go even though he’s had one arm tied behind him his whole time with the panthers.

I would elevate: Dan Morgan Jr (in house) to General Manager! Other Candidates: Adam Peters, 49ers; Ian Cunningham, Bears; Ed Dodds, Colts; Andy Weidl, Steelers; Alec Halaby, Eagles; Louis Reddick, Former GM/Analyst; Mike Borgonzi, Chiefs; others.

Bring in a new assistant general manager. Few names: Adrian Wilson, panthers (in house); Joe Hortiz, Ravens; John Spytek, Bucs; Trent Kirchner, Seahawks; Will McClay, Cowboys; Brandon Hunt, Eagles; Catherine Raiche, Browns; Chad Brinker, Packers; Brandt Tilis, Chiefs; Lance Newmark, Lions; Trey Brown, Bengals; Ryan Grigson, Vikings; Dave Caldwell, Eagles; JoJo Wooden, Chargers; Terrance Gray, Bills; etc

The Bosa talk is just talk. People use Bosa because he is the best (and the fact that both were drafted in 2019). Figuring out where Burns falls in comparison is the trick. I'd say it's it's 8th, as commensurate with his production, but we're going to have to adjust for his age and the still mouthwatering pie in the sky (i.e. his potential), and the lack of proven talent. Mind you, I'm personally skeptical of basing decisions on pie in the sky...I'd probably offer him 6th or 7th and hold the line at 5th best contract in the league, and hope like hell that his game takes that leap. We're between a rock and a hard place.

Too bad the Rams didn't have a 2023 first. I think that would've gotten that deal done.

It has been said by analyst that Burns is the #7 to #12 best ranked player at his position. So I just believe he’s going to want to be paid in the range of his rank!

Again. I am saying Burns isn’t worth 25 million per year or a 100 plus million dollar contract.
I never said we shouldn’t try to sign him and take advantage of our rookie QB contract. I just wish we could get him cheaper. I would be fine with 15-18 million per. But 25 million is elite. Which I don’t think he is yet.
I hope it works out and the Burns finally reached that point.

I don’t believe there is any way he signs for less than $22M/avg yr. My $24.5M (salary, guaranteed, signing bonus, and etc) figure is what will be the average/yr when you take total contract ($)/yr!

  5. I know there are several forum about Brian Burns and his contract. I’ve been researching and taking in other DE contracts. Compared to others I’d just give y’all ideals of a possible contract.

    IMO

    24.5M/yr

    4 year contract: 24.5x4=$98M
    5 year contract: 24.5x5=$122.5M

    IMO

    Guaranteed:$72M on 4yr deal

    Guaranteed:$90M on 5yr deal

  6. IMO

I’d put Robinson in a role like Jeremy Chinn as Nickel since he’s so versatile. Players and Coaches are raving on his ball skills and his ability of learning the defensive playbook so fast. He could be a backup to Chinn’s position when it’s used in the defense!

A GM offered 2 1st round picks for this non elite player.

Either you don't know football or you just don't know football.

    Which one is it?

Every one talks about the Rams offering (2) 1st round picks, but Rams didn’t have 1st picks to offer! They won’t have a 1st round pick until 2024. So the first round picks the rams was offering would have been the 2024 1st round pick and 2025 1st round pick.

considering he totally whiffed on Rhule and co and wasted 3 more years of the franchise on an idiot and his minions and then fugged up a multi million dollar deal to build the team a world class training facility - that's enough to make me laugh at the notion that "he really hasn't been that bad"  alone.  Let alone keeping Hurney and Ron around and all the other blunders.

People keep bringing up the hq/practice facility in rock hill. Rock Hill Neged on their promises. But 2020 and Covid screwed everything up once they was able to go back to work the price of steel had increased 350% from contracted price. They had spent $170 million for the steel already in the project the cost of that same steel after 2020 would have cost $595M. The project was suppose to be a $1B project would have ended up to be between $1.75 to $3.5B!

  9. (1)  Bryce Young, QB  (Alabama)

    (39)  Will McDonald IV, Edge  (Iowa St.)

    (93)  Darius Rush, CB  (S. Carolina)

    (114)  Jonathan Mingo, WR  (OMiss)

    (132)  Chandler Zavala, OG  (NC St.)

    (145)  Zack Kuntz, TE  (Old Dominion)

                                   or

               Nick Hampton, Edge/LB  (App St.)

    * All this is based off NFLDRAFTBUZZ, Players Tape, and other studies including NFL Draft sites used to research prospects*

    * Then a lot of the 30 personal visits would be good               ***UDFA***

(65 active on roster, 6 draft picks, and then 19 FA/UDFA) to fill the 90 man roster

If we get out under 4 years 100 million it’s a giant win. I imagine he’ll be pushing for Watt money and we’ll try and get him in closer to the Crosby/Chubb deals.

I’d pay him regardless, he’s a legit top tier pass rusher and he’s a lot more valuable in NFL circles than this board seems to value him at.

You can’t compare him to Watt, and say he’s going to request that type of money. Burns sack average is 9.5! Watt sack average is 12.6, but he also had a season of 22.5 sacks! Crosby money the most likely contract that Burns will get!

Look at the records (at the time) of the teams who made those moves.

    2016:

The trade between Rams and Titans.

Tennessee gave up trade value of 3104.2 and received trade value of 3365!

From the research I’ve done in 2001:

The trade between Chargers and Falcons.

Chargers gave up trade value of 3000 and received trade value of 2376! (Chargers must have received something else to match what they gave up in trade value)

This is kind of a given. If the Colts are offering 3 firsts to move up 3 spots, it would probably take us about a bajillion picks to move up from 9. Most likely they can get at most 2 firsts from the Colts. From us, there are a lot of options. We could do 3 firsts and 1 second this year. Or 2 firsts and a haul of picks this year. The Bears need a lot of players, and I can see them passing on the very, very top tier talent for a load of picks. allowing them to do a 1 offseason overhaul.

For Colts to move up 3 spots would cost them (2) 1st round and (2) 3rd round not saying that is what would be offered, but trade value would need to be at least 3160, and for Panthers (us) to move up 8 spots would cost (2) 1st and (2) 2nds; not saying that is what should be offered, but trade value would need to be around 3280. Trade value for the #1 spot is 3000!
