Jerry Richardson was a great owner and is owed our gratitude.  He didn’t deserve all the crap that came from the fanbase at the end.  His statue also needs to go back up.

My god this is more than just an unpopular take. Take out the fact that he never oversaw a team that had back to back winning seasons and employed Hurney for 2 decades. He also was forced to sell due to openly using the N word in the workplace and being a serial sexual harasser at best.

Probably won’t cut Dante. But he can restructure pretty easily. Moore and Moton are the same way.

Shaq is almost a lock to get cut. So is Elflein and Zane.

We should be somewhere between 40-50 million.

However, you have Bozeman with a market value of 14-17 million per year and Burns with a value of 18-20 million per year. Burns is going to count 16 this year I believe but none of it is guaranteed which makes him an ideal trade target.

agreed and you can probably add damien wilson to that as well. if bozeman is going to cost 15-17m per year, i move on.

Respectfully, are you doing the math of your suggestion? That is negative 8 million dollars by this single transaction you are suggesting, and you still get the dead cap into next year as well... By cutting D-Jax... for no reason whatsover you are accumilating 13 million dollars in dead cap over two years for 5.2million in 2023....

Do you see the discrepancy with that logic? There is no outcome of cutting D-Jax in 2023 that you are saving any money at all....

you are saving 5.2M this year towards the cap this year where you are currently $9M over

You still eat 8m in dead cap. That's not worth it. You'd be cutting him for pennies on that dollar at the point. You'd be better off letting him heal up and show that he can still play football and shopping him in the offseason.

If we were a team in dire need of cap space and in desperation mode, that would be the only reason to even consideration that option. We are not that team.

There is no business logic behind cutting ties with D-Jax in 2023 that would provide us any value or cap relief.

respectfully disagree. the $8M is no different than the $10M sitting on the books for Robbie Anderson. the $5.2M could go to an important piece if you think Jackson is done after the injury. do i think they cut him, no, but i would.

Cutting Jackson would be boneheaded...You keep him one more year and you get 10million back in saving.. cut him this year you pay 12m and save 2m... there is no value in cutting Jackson. Trading? different story.

you save over $5M if you cut him post 6/1

cap is not an issue is 2024

  6. 1. Cam Newton was a better Quarterback than both Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan

    2. DJ Moore is a legitimate number 1 Wide Receiver in the NFL

    3. Brian Burns is overrated

    4. Shaq Thompson is the most average football player in the league and is grossly overpaid

    5. The Jaycee Horn pick was a terrible picks. Surtain, Parsons, and Slater are all better and they should have picked Fields.

    6. John Fox is the best coach in franchise history and it is not particularly close

    7. Jon Beason helped run Julius Peppers out of town and should have been cut for it

    8. DeAngelo Williams should never be allowed in Bank of America Stadium ever again and it was absolutley egregious that he was the Panthers representative when they played over in London.

    9. Jonathan Stewart is the best RB in franchise history

    10. Both the Josh Norman and Steve Smith moves were the right moves

    11. David Gettleman was actually a good GM

    12. Julius Peppers is the best player to ever play a majority of his career for the Panthers

    13. Steve Wilks would have been a disaster of a hire and should have never been named interim head coach.

    14. David Tepper's progress of the Hall of Honor has been nothing short of an embarrassment

    15. The local Charlotte sports media is up there with the worst in the country and the fans of Charlotte are being done a complete disservice.

    16. Fitterer turning down 2 firsts for Burns should have been a fireable decision

im sure there are more, but those are the ones that jump out to me

  7. Man that was tough to watch. I love cam and it still bothers me what the three headed idiot of Tepper, Hurney, and Rhule did to him. Miss watching cam under center every Sunday.

kills me they weren’t able to win a super bowl for him. Most important athlete to ever step foot in Charlotte and I don’t even think it’s close. He gave us a hell of a 10 year run.

  8. I got one hope I never have to hear Steve Wilks and the Carolina panthers in the same sentence ever again after this offseason.

the media push for this guy was nothing short of an embarrassment and tells you all you need to know about these fan sites, the observer, and wfnz. They are the bottom of the barrel of the sports world.

The longer this goes on the more overrated this guy gets. I’m sure people will rip this post and bitch and moan, but all the proof I need is the total of 0 head coaching interviews this guy has received outside of Carolina.

he’s a nice guy. He is a great guy. He’s a man of character. But I hope to god he’s the next defensive coordinator of the Atlanta falcons.

  9. i truly underestimated how damn stupid david tepper truly is. i went from thinking there was no shot wilks could be the choice, to now ill be pretty surprised if he isnt. this is going to be a dark day in panthers history. we are going begging for the george seifert days after we get done with the wilks era, which i will guarantee will not last more than 3 years.

my new prediction is that the panthers will not be in charlotte in 15 years. tepper has zero respect for the fans. zero connection to the city. and we are about to see this fan base disappear like weve never seen before. you cant go from rhule to wilks. the smart fans wont pay and wont show up. this will give him more ammo to move the team.

I told you from the start it was going to be an experienced HC. The young OC interviews were to just pick their brains. Why Johnson dropped out.

if thats the case its a joke. i can guarantee you if david tepper ever were to win a super bowl, it now will have to be after he hired at a minimum 3 head coaches. reich or wilks wont sniff pone here. what a disaster.

  11. only david tepper could fire his head coach early, focus on up and coming you offensive gurus, and end up picking between steve wilks and frank reich. to call this guys a disaster would be a gross understatement.

jerry richardson was an awful team owner. no matter what the state of the franchise is now, jerry should still have been forced to sell because he was also an awful person. with that all said, if you focus on just football and nothing off the field, he was a superior owner to tepper in every single way.

you also don’t know her qualifications, and threw every piece of unrelated crap against the wall in a random expression of anger. she could very well have plenty of experience in HR procedures and corporate hiring. none of us know. her ding for compliance training are also unrelated to her qualifications on the hiring process. the compliance training is most likely a lawyer defined cya policy by the league, and has nothing to do with skills development.

If anything, if this training is as minor as you’re making it out to be, it then only proves even more how incompetent this disaster duo of owners are. They can’t even follow the simplest of procedures.

Again, she has zero football background. This is why you build front offices and bring in people with football experience to help with head coaching searches. I don’t know what line of work you are in, but I feel fairly confident my HR team wouldn’t be all that effective at hiring the next coach of the Indianapolis colts.

i also have zero idea what point you’re trying to make about this compliance training. Even if it’s what you claim it to be, it is still mandatory. Never once did I say if she took this training she would be more qualified. What I’m saying, is that this owner is an utter dumpster fire who can’t even get this right. Rules are rules and it’s amazing to me that the other 4 teams were able to properly train everyone, but this idiot could not.

that has nothing to do with what she is being dinged for.

That’s not what you asked. You asked me what her qualifications were.

She’s being dinged for not taking mandatory compliance training that was specifically put in due to the whole Brian Flores situation. I don’t understand the argument. If they are mandatory and she didn’t take them, then yes, the teopers are in the wrong.

Why respond if you're not the one being referenced? Seems a little silly. 😛

It was a general statement in a thread I started where I voiced my displeasure of Nicole Tepper being involved. The poster didn’t quote a specific post or reference specific posters. I wanted to make it clear that my opinions are not coming for misogynistic point of view.

It seems pretty silly to me that you do not understand this.

i’m not personally aware of what her qualifications are. please share.

While I don’t know if should waste my time explaining this to you because you are already on record of saying you will no longer be supporting this franchise if they hire Sean Payton, so you might not even be here in two weeks, but hey, I’m a nice guy. I’ll do it anyway for you.

total years of football personnel experience: 0

Seems pretty important you know in a search for a head coaching job.

Anybody with an ounce of intellectual honesty can click back to page 3 of this thread and see the misogynistic behavior on full display. You might not have participated in it, but it's right there.

I was referring to my point of view and that it has nothing to do with her being female. Can’t speak for some of the other idiots in this thread.
