Screw it, now that guy is going to the Saints. We just traded for a fifth in 2017, a seventh this year and two  supplemental draft pick opportunities later this summer.

Are they smoking crack in there?

No we are trying to get Legs Von Stumble, a tackle from a German football league. He’s only 5’8 and 139 lbs but Rhule likes his attitude.

Above all else, it has become apparent that Rhule values one thing over anything else:

    Rare Athletic ability

If you look at the players drafted just in the first two rounds last year and round 1 this year:

    - Derrick Brown (for his size, strength, balance, and hands moreso than speed. I do believe this was more of a Hurney pick. I believe the rumor that Rhule wanted to move down and grab Kinlaw who was more athletically gifted).

    - Yetur Gross Matos

    - Jeremy Chinn

    - Jaycee Horn

All of those guys are FREAK athletes.

Those are the guys we can expect to pinpoint as targets for the rest of this draft and in every draft with Rhule at the helm going forward. He believes he can coach anyone. He just wants the guy he is coaching to have SOMETHING special to work with.

So who else stands out in this regard for the draft this year?

    Walker Little.

It’s not just the Saints that won with Teddy.

Teddy Icewater’s history of winning extends all the way back to his youth football days. Rhule is literally the only coach that hasn’t won with Teddy as his QB.

Teddy was made the scapegoat for other organizational failings and the fan base bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Teddy, we don’t reach over the goal line. Especially in Green Bay.

Insiders have said several times that the team wasn't very high on Lance.

Their thought was that he doesn't fit Joe Brady's system.

Fair enough. If that’s the case I am surprised they put on the QB smoke screen to not take any deals down. Maybe they didn’t want to take a chance on losing Horn.

  5. No I think Trey Lance was the guy they was “excited” about during the press conference. Lawrence and Wilson were almost done deals. We passed on Fields and Jones. People thought the number 3 would be Jones/Fields/Lance so there was a shot he would fall. Don’t think it was used for bait.

I don't think we're really that interested in Fields. I think it's all been a coordinated smoke screen to trigger someone into trading with us.

I doubt Sewell or Pitts will be there.

If we trade back I have a nervous feeling we'll end up taking some guy none of us have even been discussing and it ends up being a letdown.

I don’t think we are “interested” in fields so somebody will trade with us. I think it’s so somebody will trade ahead of us and take a QB in hopes Chase, Sewell, or Pitts fall to us.

Patrick Surtain II - 6'2" 208 pound boundary CB with a 4.4 40 time and excels in short space. Equally solid in coverage as he is against the run. Bloodlines from all-pro CB father.

Jaycee Horn - 6'1" 205 pound versatile CB with a 4.37 40 time. Confident and a ballhawk....Kyle Pitts said he was the top CB he faced. Bloodlines from pro bowl WR father.

Either of these guys, though not an OT or QB, would go a long way sealing a tremendous positional weakness in a division loaded with talented pass catchers..... Pitts could be in ATL soon too.

Either of these two CBs are in a tier above what Bradberry was. I want Sewell or Pitts and would be equally happy with Slater at 8.

However, there is a lot of depth at OT that can find a very, very good starting LT in R2. Draft can fall a number of ways and a guy like Jenkins falls. Radunz, Leatherwood, Eichenburg, and the kid from Northern Iowa would all be valuable gets at 39.

Sidenote, I do think David Moore will turn heads for folks this year at WR. Only 26 years old, he is, IMO, a younger more athletic Jerricho Cotchery.

    My ideal first three rounds:

    8 - Penei Sewell

    39 - Eric Stokes

    73 - Wyatt Davis

I would be willing to pass on Eric Stokes and take Grant instead if he’s there. Would still take a corner in 3-5 range.

I'm super curious to see how much players are going to be punished for sitting out.

    We won't know until Thursday.

I think it’ll be more than people expect. Not bashing anyone for doing it but when you’re making multi-million dollar decisions, that extra year of experience and tape matters.
