The fact that the Panthers could potentially have their choices of Trey Smith/Deonte Brown and Dylan Moses/Cameron McGrone in the 5th is insane to me 😮

On Moses and McGrone: They are both downhill, blitzing style backers. Moses is a real thumper (kinda like Perryman). I guess teams are favoring the coverage style backers more.

Why do y’all think dudes are finished products? You don’t think he can be taught how to have better ball security?

Just not my first choice, but, its not up to me or any of us- I hope he can come learn to hold onto the ball better and pass protect better, but it is a gamble. Defenses in the NFL are a lot better at getting the ball out than those he played against so I am concerned. We will see...hopefully he can come in and help us. He has a really nice burst-from the film so..

Take Cox and let Chinn play safety/rover.

This makes sense to me, but also bolstering the O-line seems to still be something that should be done. A free Safety soon that can give us some reps would be nice too.

Jabril Cox in the 4th would be a steal. We badly need a linebacker with his coverage ability.

There are two potentially good LB's that are very different in terms of Skills; J. Cox and C. McGrone. Cox is a little small but great in coverage, Cox is more of a downhill. blitzing type of backer.

I wonder if they decide to go LB, which one they (Snow, Rhule, Fit) see as a better fit.?

That horse bolted when we traded down from #39. Pretty much every OT was picked.

I know very little about this guy, but the first tape I watched (against Miss St) had me intrigued. He's another exceptional athlete relative to his position - sensing a theme here for Rhule.

Eichenberg, Cosmi and Radunz were still on the board. Also Chicago (Who we traded the pick to) took T. Jenkins at 39.

Now in the 3rd even with 3 picks the T sutuation is bleak. James Wiggans is probably the best FS. THere are a couple of TE's and IDL guys. Also some interior o-line that might help us.

I think our current LT outlook is whoever sucks the least unfortunately even if we bring a guy in with a R3# pick.

  7. Someone commented yesterday the possibility of using Donte Jackson at Nickel. Thinking about that I think its possible that he gets a lot of reps there, but rotates outside as well (In the Press conference Fit kept mentioning Donte on the outside). Hartsfield may get some chances to play FS and rotate  back down into the nickel when necessary. Its going to be interesting how all the pieces fit....and we still have a couple days of draft left. Phil Snow has to be Happy!

First let me say- Horn has tons of potential. If he works up to that then we really have a solid piece that will make the whole defense better, but..

It seems to me everything went the way we wanted it to (except Sewell being gone). We had the option to pick Fields, and I'm sure teams wanted to move up, so we could have traded back for extra picks right?

I guess what Rhule and Fit wanted was Horn the whole time. Man i'd love to see that 1st Round board.

But some nagging feeling tells me to watch for the possibility of Kellen Mond...

    God Please NO! ...

Every Safety is in Play, All the TE's except for Pitts in play, and several decent LT's. I like Eichenberg, Jenkins, and Radunz. Cosmi I'm not thrilled about but I'd rather have him than Mond!

  10. Here is a link to an article that compares Liam Eichenberg's Proday testing to other Top Prospects from previous years. This comes from a Notere Dame fan site so take the comments with a grain of salt, but I like the numbers.

I like Eichenberg, Radunz, and Jenkins in R2--I think Mayfield or W. Little and we are reaching a bit.

  11. So Fit and Rhule said there was a QB they really liked, they were open to drafting if he was on the board---was that Lance then? I dont't think Horn would be who Tepper was banging on the table for. I said it before, "I like Horn, but not at 8." And especially not with Fields (and Slater, D. Smith-even Jones) still available.

Someone said earlier they can't wait for the explanation. I second that.
