why cant they just let teams have their kicker kick it and then run off the field? Thats the only thing he can do and he also cant recover an onside. The kicking team will have 12 men to start, including the kicker, and then he runs off.
the new rule seems complicated. Not sure if Im going to like it or not. If they wanted more returns, they shouldve just gone back to the old way.- 1

I dont think he will either. His ceiling is a competent backup and he isnt even there yet. If he wasnt drafted where he was, he would be a practice squad QB.

If teams want joint practices, why not just bring back a 4th or even a 5th preseason game? At least get some revenue from it.

This whole thing still seems fishy to me. Id love to find out when the truth comes out in the future.

His contract was expiring, Dundon only pays a premium if he feels like you are the best at what you do and rumors are that Tulsky was the puppet master.
That makes sense if it was Tulsky.

His contract was done soon and he had already been giver permission to interview elsewhere.
My guess is this was an amicable parting of ways and it was his choice to go elsewhere.
It still doesnt make sense to me. Why go somewhere else when he can watch what he built here? Something doesnt feel right.

I wonder if he had doubts about the coaching staff and after their contracts he decided to peace out.

He was supposed to be used as our TE/FB but we kept Ricci on the roster and havent done that.

There’s zero chance Freddie is not here next year.
You can’t find a goalie less than $4M on the market and Fred’s buyout would still carry a cap hit of over $1M.
I get fans want to just up and get rid of players but that’s not how the NHL works.
Great, another year Rod starts Freddie in net over Kooch on our way to another playoff exit.

And all the other playoff teams in the Eastern Conference breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the Canes will continue playing limp dick hockey for most of their series, never be a threat on the powerplay, our goal scorers will go silent, and Rod will have no clue how to handle his goal tenders.

For those asking who a new head coach would be, if they aren’t going with a guy who already has a Stanley cup ring, what’s the point? So it’s Craig Berube or Joel Quennville. I think you stick with Rod with a retooled roster next season. If it’s the same result it’s time for a fresh look.
That would mean we only offer a 1 year deal, but he has had 6 chances already. We already know how far we can get with him and his assistant. He has to let go of them to see how far we really can go, but its not going to happen. We are in coach purgatory.

Man, I hurt. This hurts. The Canes future doesnt look too good. The panthers arent going to be good as long as Bryce is here. Sad time to be a Carolina pro sports team fan.

I actually agree with you..... I just don't know who they could get that's better....
But knowing the Canes they resign as many guys as possible and run it back.
The only way Id be fine with Rod is if he detaches himself from his assistants, but dont think thats going to happen.

Yeah like I said in the other thread, Id rather move on and start the process of finding a better coach even if it means a few years of pain instead of keep getting to the playoffs and getting angry at how different of a team this is. They are like night and day from regular season to playoffs.

Yeah, he's a regular season warrior. Love his system, but never makes adjustments. We have all a talent in the world to win a cup and he continues to squander it... Unfortunately if we fire him, I'm not sure there is another good option for us to hire
He has had 6 chances and each time we get knocked out its the same problems. He has had more than his fair share of chances. Dont give him another contract, we already know how far we can get with him. Id rather move on than keep getting to the playoffs and continuously getting frustrated with how different of a team it is.

It’s not unpopular but I think you give Rod one more season because this was the first time they’ve actually made a push at the trade deadline. They’ll retool and be back next year but man, this hurts. They were in control of this game and fell apart. The rangers wanted it more and they couldn’t get anything else out of the roster.
I dont think he should. Same problems keep knocking us out.
-
Welp, Im done with Rod. Never going to win a Cup with his piss poor power plays and dumbass goalie decision making along with complete and total lapses from the whole team from time to time. Hit the road and never come back.

fug Rod.

Im sick of Anderson. Hes been trying his hardest all night to give the game to the Rags.

Toronto will blow the horn if it was a good goal.
I fugging thought it was in.
I didnt know wtf I just saw. I thought Anderson was ran into and it was goalie interference or there was a penalty on the Rags beforehand cause I thought that was in net.

That and not doing poo on the powerplay and not all of our goal scorers on the same page and not doing what theyve been all year. We are a completely different team in the playoffs than regular season. Thats on coaching no matter how you slice it.
