Unless you mean no swap
We got a future 2nd and a 5th this year to trade down from 39, traded that 5th and our remaining one to move up to 46

Just pointing out that you are advocating the same thing that we mocked a rival for doing. I'm glad you already know how it will all work out. I apologize for upsetting you. Maybe you don't even need to watch anymore then.
Wut. What we did isn’t really similar to what the falcons did at all. Top ten is way different than middle of the second. Guy that will play this year vs a guy that won’t. Big difference.

What was the trade comp?
Two 5ths

There is something to be said for that, but also we all laughed at the Falcons last night.
Well there’s something to be said about spending a mid second on a soon to be starting RB vs spending a top ten pick on a QB that won’t see the field for 2+ years

I did not like the legette pick but I like this one. Brooks was very good until he got hurt. He’s not Bijan but he’s going to be a versatile bell cow RB.
From what I heard he was doing better than Bijan until he got hurt. Was like 13 yards from Bijan’s yards when he got injured.

Gave up 52, 142, and 155. So both fifths to move up in the second.
I like it. We traded 39 and a 5th for 46 and a future second

RB Brooks from Texas
Not bad. Not my preference but I don’t hate it.

Probably saw JPJ go and put list was thin. Maybe for Frazier.

Wtf are you people whining about? We got an extra second next year to drop 13 spots. And no, not going to get a future first to drop 13 spots, getting a second is a great deal

Good value. Got a second next year and a 5th this year.

Not everyone will be fans of a slot corner early, but I'm personally sold on the player.
Thing is, ILB is critical for our two-high shell. They need to be fast sideline to sideline, be able to close in quickly, hover all over and Shaq coming off injury scares me.
Colson or Cooper could make a lot of sense. Don't know how we'd do if we're looking at journeymen at LB this year. Very important for the Fangio disciple defenses.
If not one of the centers, Cooper/Wilson/Colson are my preference.
-
My preference is one of the two Centers (JPJ, Frazier) or one of the three LBs (Cooper, Wilson, Colson)

But all the pearl clutching from the other thread! This has to be fake news!

Dropped top of 5th to bottom of 6th right? Dumb I prefer the guy from TX
Dunno which 5th and 6th. Dunno if it’s the teams’ original picks in those rounds.

Ok, didn’t give up anything really, dropped our 5th to a 6th. I guess they were afraid of the Bills taking him. I’m fine with him. Now gimme JPJ or Cooper or a CB at 39

At this point I’m hoping for Cooper or JPJ at 33 and Mitchell or Mcconkey at 39.

Panthers could easily trade up for any player this late in R1 if they really wanted someone.
I was starting to get my hopes up if Brian Thomas lasted til around 25 or so we’d move up to get him. Jags took that temptation away though.

I want the good players pushed to us to be WRs…looking to be a good chance that happens. Mitchell or McConkey please, and a top C.
-
I was beginning to hope we’d trade UP to take Brian Thomas but then the jags took him and removed that temptation.

You’re not wrong but if he performs on the field I’ll take that over Bryce’s garbage any day. Not that I think they’re anything alike but people love talking poo about Cam, Baker and Burrow’s personalities too. Doesn’t matter as long as they stay out of trouble and produce results. Time will tell where Caleb falls on the spectrum.

Yea Falcons should (and hopefully will) get slammed hard for this tampering business. But even without that, Kirk Cousins is solid but the team still isn’t good. Their O is super overhyped based on college production. The RB they got last year looks good but he’s no Barkley or CMC. Their young WR and TE are dookie no matter how much people wanna hype them based on their college days. (And by dookie I mean compared to expectations. They’re mid, objectively).

Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2

Taking a RB top ten isn’t how it’s done these days…but teams are still doing it. Taking the top RB in the second is not a problem.
