  1. I think the "play for your job" stuff is nonsense, there aren't any surprises. Put people in their position EARLY, let them become a team. Guys want to micromanage and overRhule everything as if carrots and sticks are necessary.

Highschool coaches already know their roster. Set your starters now so everyone from training camp forward knows their role as a #1,#2 special teams. Especially the o line. Get your hog mollies in sync early. Sometimes overdoing leaves other important things undone.

Like overRhuling the QB position. Matt Corral is your QB now.

Stop with all the rejects and show this man the love and appreciation he deserves. The draft was stupid, a year ago Matt Corral was projected QB1 for all the right reasons, not like the Pickett/Willis hype.

He knows it. You know it. You got a bargain, yes, you were lucky but don't treat this gift horse like a donkey. He's worth it, put some sugar on that man's contract and give him the damn job! There is no better option for the future on this roster or in free agency. We know it. You know it. His agent knows it. Stop overthinking, overdoing, give Matt Corral the damn ball and LET'S GO!

I know the forum wasn't around in the old days, but I'd imagine it's always been this way. Every QB before Jake would probably have had his haters on here. And since Jake (who had his haters) it's just been a trainwreck on here (even with Cam). It'd be nice to see everyone on board with the QB just once. I guess that takes someone elite though, who wins year after year after year.

Jake had haters here too. Same old huddle.

Sources keep reporting that there is disagreement in the building on Baker. Some want him and some don't. I think the question is who is pro-Baker and who is anti-Baker? If we do or don't get him, it's not really going to matter. It's just a matter of trying to discern who has the most stroke on the personnel moves(and if it has actually changed). Also speculating on motivations for the move. Even if we knew who was more pro or anti Baker, it wouldn't come close to the complete picture.

It's the offseason, so it's just conversation fodder, basically. It's not going to mean anything until after next season is over anyway. Once we know the actual results of whatever happens.

Talk about a tectonic shift. Watson has caused a huge rift in the NFL. Cleveland loses Mayfield, Atlanta loses Ryan, Texans lose Watson, and Cleveland will pay a kings ransom for a potential legal nightmare. What if the silver lining is that the panthers get a hungry, vindictive Mayfield and we become competitive again. If not, maybe the fan base could grow with all of the new Mayfield commercials.

  5. Corral is low risk high reward. Look at Tom Brady and Russell Wilson's contracts, they could build winners because of those third round and sixth round contracts.

Corral feels just like Aaron Rodgers did, they are very similar, let him take it out on the NFL. Treat him like the first rounder he should have been if not for the decoys.

Get on that bandwagon NOW instead of contract time when he's looking at you sideways for jumping on the bandwagon late. Or making him jump through unnecessary hoops.

    Engine, engine #9

Get him ready and if he falls, pick him up, pick him up, pick him up!

I really feel like people need to be reminded that Corrall is a 3rd round rookie from an RPO, 1 read offense if I remember correctly.  He probably won't be ready to start, so if we can get Baker cheap why not? Is he worse then Darnold? The same? Slightly better? As long as its cheap we aren't any WORSE off so. He at least has some grit unlike Darnold.

Most importantly for the sake of starting in the NFL he's from the SEC and he put up some impressive numbers.

The next logical step for a successful SEC QB is to be drafted and start or compete to start immediately. That's what Matt is doing.

This draft was scuttlebutt courtesy of the media and their Pickett/Willis decoy for stupid teams. Corral was QB1 coming into last season.

If he was rated the top college QB coming out, how could you NOT put that talent ahead of statistically the worst QB in the NFL?

You can't. They need to put some sugar on Matt Corrals contract and LET'S GO.

This would honestly be my preference. Focus on getting Corral ready. If that means Darnold starts the first 5-6 games so be it. But focus on getting Corral ready to take the field this year. Find out if you have anything to work with or if we're still in desperate QB need again next off-season.

As Fans that would make us happy. They are the anti-fan.

Supposedly it's been Fitterer pushing the Baker deal and Rhule hasn't been necessarily on board with the Baker trade.

If true, that is exactly the opposite way I would have predicted that situation to be.

    Say it ain't so.

Smh Fitty. Big waste of time and money.

I mean, you are not wrong here

This is the same f'n mistake all over again. They don't get it! This is just like when we should have just played Will Grier and either found our new Matt Moore or got a top five pick that next draft.

  10. We're not your damn dumping ground!  We HAVE a new QB and he has more OTAs and training camp and preseason to get up to speed. That's plenty AND others have done it. No b**ch ass'dness! No coddling! Let's GO!

Engine #9 or top five next draft. THAT'S what needs to happen.

    This is nonsense!

If Baker comes here and leads this team to 10 wins that would be incredible.  We would be in the playoffs and that would be 100% increase in the amount of wins we've had the last 2 seasons.  Who WOULDN'T want that, is the question?

Me. Are we rebuilding or recycling? They can keep their failure.

I would guess they have tried to dump him most of the offseason and gotten next to no interest that wasn't wildly in the other teams favor.

Even if it did happen, I would bet the Browns just basically cut him.

Panthers should do the same, cut bait.
