Yup. And although we were getting similarly disadvantaged in SB50, a lot of these early calls actually reminded me of how the NFL jobbed us in the playoffs back in 2013 against the Niners, because the calls aimed at completely taking away our physicality so the Niners could have their way with us. I think there was a bad personal foul call on Mitchell early, some ticky-tack def holding calls, and then I remember one of the Niners took a cheap shot and one of our guys went to confront them and Boldin instigated the whole thing and they didn't throw a flag until our guy retaliated... from that point on, we played passive. That's what happened last night. As you said, it's not just taking away one team's ability to be physical, it's taking away their ability to compete altogether in a very physical sport. And coaches can yell all day, "keep playing, we can't control the refs" but when the penalties are 9 to 1 against you and of the nature they were last night, meanwhile Brady's taunting Mathieu and Mathieu's gets flagged, they're getting 2nd and 3rd chances to score off of penalties, and on defense they aren't just holding but completely piggyback riding your receivers before the ball even gets there, it gets pretty demoralizing... as a player, there's no way you feel you can play with the same intensity, because you know you're going to get called for it and your effort won't matter. It really is pathetic.
49ers coronation playoff game @BofA. The exact SAME thing! The 49ers figured it out and blatantly took advantage.
I said on this here site after that game that the refs flew in on the 49ers jet.
There was also a big budget commercial that aired with the 49ers and Seahawks playing for the division.
Not the Panthers, and wouldn't you know?! The TV was correct.
Storylines. Do we have a good enough one?

Legendary QB and a team of admiring refs make it possible.
So Aaron Rodgers should be the target?

If I can earhole your QB I can shut that guy down.

As Americans we can all see, you can't beat the media, the NFL establishment, refs, and a good football team all at the same time. The Chiefs were long written out. NFL Entertainment hasn't promised anything but that. It's their products, they can do with them as they will.

The 2 games have a lot of similarities. One team getting the brunt of favorable calls but at the same time, their defense just completely manhandling the opposing team to the point it's not clear if it would've mattered. Panthers game would've been a lot more competitive than this at least.
Yeah, if their defenses could abuse Tom Brady like they abused Cam and Mahommes the game would be fair but you can't and they KNOW they can. Cam and Patrick were the bumps in the road, the sacrificial lambs at they Manning, Brady feast.
Brady again, got help in crucial situations and Tampa's defense was allowed to tee off while sht talking Brady gets you a flag and 15. AND the Panthers have NO Superbowl ring.

Lame when you do the opposite of BUILDING a Superbowl capable roster.

Waaaay more Hornets games than Panthers games for sure.
I was at the Celtics playoff game when Zo tipped in the last shot. I was at a couple of the Kobe games when we kept beating them.
I was at that Bobcats game when Matt Carrol went off while we were leaving, we had to turn back around because the crowd was going crazy.

Borrego doesnt play the young guys man...you know that
Not Mitch's fault, he gives you bigs and you don't use them.
He's got Riveraitis.

I've said it before and I'll say it a million more times. If we had a legit big man, imagine the better looks we'd get from three playing the inside out game. If we had someone in the middle our opponents actually considered a threat, this team would be so dangerous. But instead we have soft, no defense Zeller, and no hands Biz.
But, hats off to Melo, he's must-see TV and he has earned that starting spot. I guess Borego didn't know what to do so he started all three guards to not make waves. Sooner or later he'll have to choose the sixth man.
I thought Vernon Carey Jr was NBA ready. We need a rotation of three solid centers like the Bulls three headed monster back with MJ. Nick Richards? Time to throw them in there, especially Carey Jr.

LaMelo Ball led the way for the Hornets, erupting for a career-high 34 points on 14-of-27 shooting, four rebounds, eight assists, two steals and zero turnovers in the loss. Ball is the first Charlotte rookie to record a 30-point game since Walter Herrmann on April 14, 2007 and the youngest in NBA history to do so with five assists and no turnovers (previous: Stephon Marbury).

34 points from a rookie AND everything he has done previously. This is your very own Kobe replacement and thank God you didn't trade him away this time around.
GO HORNETS!

Teddy was a backup in New Orleans. That's what he was. No longer a starting QB at that time and couldn't solidify the starting spot from old man Brees and was soon known NOT to be the future of the franchise in New Orleans.
Sound familiar? Not Teddy's fault. I'd give it a go for the check he got. Old friends getting a guy paid.

I'm so glad to see guys come back to the Carolinas as make such a huge difference. MJ deserves credit too, our court, our uniforms, fire! MJ deserves credit for bringing our history back in the name of the Charlotte Hornets. LaMelo's jersey is soon to be everywhere. This is remeniscent of the early Hornets when teal and purple went worldwide.

Pay him. ASAP. Jordan needs to buy out that Puma contract.
Put that man in his own pair of Jordans, that would be epic!
