How important is the O-line anyway?

We have Darnold under the guise of "it wasn't him it was his situation".  I understand this but what if he is what his numbers suggest regardless of his situation. Because this scenario is a definite possibility.  By the way, I want him to propel this organization to consistent contenders.  I just have my concerns about how long can we make the excuse of it's not him....we have to find him the right weapons, the right offensive line, the right offensive scheme... the right furniture.  So on and so forth. 

The level of optimism I have now compared to this time last year, is exponentially higher.

That being said, if we do lose to the Jets, that optimism will be shot, and back to the "how are the college QB's looking for drat" phase of the season. 

From an objective standpoint, 8 wins is the new 7-9.
