  1. Cam is like your favorite ex girlfriend that you always look back and remember fondly. She was the MVP. The best you ever had. And you almost made it all the way. But those days are over and it’s just time to let it go. I still think about mine. But it’s not really worth bringing her up to my friends anymore. She’s moved on. So have I. So should you. Let Cam go.

  2. I’m not going but I can’t let a Anthony Green fan hear nothing so here’s to you and I hope the game is fun… and that we don’t ruin this tank job even though I feel bad because I like Wilks

You could trade anyone from this team and I would not be heartbroken over it.

Chinn and Burns would hurt. Chinn will hopefully be used properly now and the last time that happened he looked like an emerging superstar. Burns is a superstar. But everyone else can go and I would be too upset about it.

No, I'm really not. I'm being realistic. There's absolutely no evidence that this team will ever even be mediocre under Tepper, there's absolutely no evidence Tepper has any desire to want them to be successful here, and there's ESPECIALLY no evidence Tepper is going to fire Rhule before his contact is up.

Anything to the contrary has been wishful thinking supported by emotion, not logic.

This take is entirely emotional my friend lol. Tepper has been garbage, but to suggest there’s no evidence this team could ever be good under him is a bit dense. He’s only had one hiring. He failed at it miserably and has stubbornly failed to admit his mistake. But he did make that hire one of the highest paid coaches in the entire league at the time. It’s his pride that’s letting him down.

And saying there’s no evidence Tepper will fire Rhule is also silly. What evidence do you expect before it happens? Do you think he would come out and say “well honestly I’m thinking about firing him but we will see”

You are being a bit dramatic. I understand it’s bleak. But suggesting Tepper would not fire Rhule for 3 more years and all the top QBs will stay in school rather than come here is dramatic. And you know that lol

Sure. but that's not coming until '25 or '26.

Now you are that being negative for the sake of being negative. Yeah, Tepper has been awful and this coaching staff has been awful. And Tepper should have canned Rhule awhile ago. But I find it extremely unlikely that he lets Rhule stay after this season.

Only one problem hoss: they're both steering clear of Charlotte and 1) staying in school, or 2) pulling an Eli/Elway

With this current coaching staff. But perhaps not if we get someone with actual NFL experience to come in and take over. Especially an OC that has helped make QBs look exceptionally good over the last year or two.

As far as Fitterer, reporting has been that while Tepper is losing trust in head coach, he still seems to have it in his GM.

Fitterer has basically been given carte blanche to reshape the Panthers personnel department as he chooses. Throw in that there's been no real indication from any of our typical inside sources that his proverbial "seat" is even warm, much less hot.

If, as we all suspect, Rhule is gone then Fitter and Morgan might actually get the chance to put their own stamp on things.

I said this yesterday in a thread, but the talent on this roster is really strong imo. We are certainly lacking a QB but we should be winning these games even with the subpar QB situation we find ourselves in. With a good HC I honestly believe we are 4-0 this season or at least 3-1. A good coach would have won that game against the Browns and Giants. This team is good enough to be winning. But our coaches are clueless.

Thats why I’m not mad at Fitt though. I think he’s build a pretty talented roster. Our coaches just have no idea how to use the players on the team. Prime examples are Chinn, Burns, DJ, hell it took us 4 weeks to start throwing the ball to CMC. I just don’t know what these jokers are thinking.

Start Darnold again by all means. Embrace the tank.tank GIF

I can’t believe I’m saying this but if we want to tank then we should probably leave in Baker. Darnold is not good but at least he can get the ball past the line of scrimmage. I swear half of Bakers throws have been batted down at the line this year.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Just sit back and enjoy the comedy y'all. I quit getting frustrated a long time ago.

For the first time in 20 some years I’m on the verge of not watching. And I’ve never done that with any team I follow.  But this isn’t just painful as a fan, it’s senseless. Literally half of this board could have made better decisions for the team in the last three years and that’s saying a lot because 90% of this board are clowns it feels like lol

Julian Council (whoever that is) is telling the hard truth. Seems like a lot of folks are still clinging to hope for Scott Fitterer and I'm not seeing anything to rationalize it.

I’m one. He’s genuinely the only one I have any optimism for. I know he’s had some head scratchers but I don’t fault him for the QB misses. For one, I think Tepper has put high pressure on him to find a franchise QB. And I’m thankful we haven’t sold the farm to do it. I mean, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but I know you were in the draft Fields or trade up for Zach Wilson camp. Hindsight suggests those would have been flops the same as Darnold and Mayfield, but would have also cost us a lot more capital in the process.

I know he hasn’t been perfect but a lot of the same people that criticize him here do so while faulting him for not drafting a QB. But the QBs they wanted us to draft have been complete trash. At least Darnold and Mayfield didn’t cost us 1st rounders.

But the sad reality is that this team should have started a complete rebuild 3 years ago. Now we appear to be in worse shape than we were then and still need to tear it all down. I just hope we do it right the next time around because this is close to as miserable as I have ever been being a Panthers fan.

  11. There’s a lot of talent still on this roster but none of them believe in this staff anymore and none will have plans of sticking around the second they can get out. Luvu is the only player on this entire team playing with any fire. Our defense didn’t even play bad yesterday. They were actually really damn good for the majority of the game. But they just emotionless and seem to feel as they know they cannot win games no matter how well they play.

Well firstly, thank you for replying to me honestly and thoughtfully I really appreciate that.

Now back to the topic at hand If you are using  pff stats and metrics 3 games into the season I can't go for that we need an ample amount of sample data to do that if you wanna go off last years stats then okay but off 3 games? A lot can change.

It sure can. But if calling them solid players after 3 games is premature then calling them trash after 3 games is as well. Especially when you consider that through a small sample size they have actually been decent.

And for the record, I am over this coaching staff, but we could very easily be 3-0 right now. We gifted the Giants 6 points early in a game we lost marginally and we were on the wrong side of two atrocious calls that allowed the Browns to kick a 57 yard winner.

With a half competent coaching staff this team is undefeated right now. The players on the roster aren’t the problem. They may not be super bowl contenders but with decent coaching, there’s enough talent on this roster to be a playoff team. It’s the clowns calling the plays that are holding us back currently. Trashing our roster seems silly to me.

Yes we have been bad about compensatory pick accumulation. But that isn’t as important when you lose those picks because you signed productive players.

how am I an idiot for pointing out the panthers can't figure out comp picks?

You aren’t. You’re an idiot for just about every other point you’ve tried to make to defend your position. When someone points out pass blocking grades or run defense grades for players you call garbage and ask what metrics you are using and you say “uh, we are 1-2” then you’ve ironically made the least mathematical stance possible and it shows that you know much less about the subject than the ones you are debating with.

  14. The combination of negativity on this board mixed with idiots like OP is why I’ve cut my huddle time back by about 85%

Theres a few brilliant posters in here but they get drowned out by the trolls. Unnecessarily bringing up nonsensical ideas relating to the team, political garbage to insight a reaction, or simply spamming the “Tepper, Rhule bad” narrative as though we are all unaware of what a disaster the team has become.

Meh. The huddle has turned pretty stale.
