  1. If there is one narrative that has been proved wrong its the one that Bryce is going to get hurt because of his size. Bryce is small, not fragile. With the way this coaching staff and oline have failed to protect him, he shouldve been hurt or knocked out by now. Somehow, the dude shows both mental and toughness that keeps him from getting hurt.

The problem is that he doesnt have the speed, size or arm strength to bail him out when things go wrong.

  2. He shouldnt have been the number #1 pick. Doesnt mean he wont be successful. Doesnt mean we wont eventually get it right. But we should not have mortgaged our future for him.

It feels like he throws the ball away.... alot. I am however pleasantly surprised that given his size that he has been pretty wise with the hits he takes and getting rid of the football.

So I'm not down on him. But what we gave up for him.... We're not seeing it.

  3. I remember that Chris Simms said that Matt Corral was the best QB to come out of his class. Granted that class hasnt been exactly world beating....

But just remember that these guys live in a world where the goal is to get the most attention by saying what will get clicks immediately. I think Chris Simms means what he's saying... but if you kept track of how often he is wrong, you'd watch him much less.

  4. Everybody and they momma's chihuahua has been able to move the ball on our defense. Running and throwing the ball. Not sure if the team is still grapsing the scheme, if guys are out of position, or if its about playcalling.... but there's not excuse for how we've been getting bullied at the front, exposed over the middle, AND Beat downfield.

Tackles. That what I want more of. Tackle football.

Disagree.  2011 came after 1-15 season.

We didn’t earn the #1 pick this year, we traded up from #9 to get Bryce Young after finishing 7-10 and second in NFC South.

My expectations are more 2013. Playoff appearance.

Coaching and continuity matters. Not only did we trade up for Bryce Young but we've had a coaching overhaul. This coaching staff is still figuring out our personnel and what their coaching identity is. On top of that, everyone on the offense is new except for the O-line. It takes time to build chemistry on the field with players and off the field with coaches. I dont expect us to be bottom of the barrel, but I think we need to be more realistic.

while I mostly agree, that's why his post was so ridiculous and immature. We traded up to draft him 365 days ago--for him to act like he's instantly not appreciated for something he should have known we were doing the second we traded up for first overall, just seems like entitled trash. I'm not sure where he thinks he's going in this league where he's going to have some starter's shot that we're not giving him, but GMs that would be trading for him now have that post to question his inability to deal with any remote competition to point at.  It was just an extremely emotional / reactionary thing to do and he had a literal month to sit on the fact that he would be on the outside looking in inside our and therefore every QB room in the league

I feel you and I can agree. Matt Corral is a chippy guy and uses those kinds of things to motivate him. I've seen much stupider things posted from older athletes. Alot of these guys are maturing in front of us. But I also want to give him credit for taking the post down and getting on board with the program. (at least for now.)
