Honestly Clemson has been getting screwed all season with calls.  They played great today and this loss for UNC doesn’t matter much.

If we take care of business we are fine.  Really tough stretch of games for us and we lead the league.

UNC got the benefit of two awful calls in crunch time and proceeded to piss the opportunity away in the next three possessions. Got to take advantage of those. Clemson played well and obviously Carolina was still celebrating beating New Jersey State on Saturday. Learn from It.

They're just terrible in general. I don't think they're biased against us, they're just terrible refs.

Love beating duke but we can't be so focused on that game that we lose to bad teams before and after. Hell, we're better off losing to duke and winning the other two. Beating duke softened the GT blow but then turning around and losing to Clemson at home for only the second time ever takes all the wind out of the sails of that win. No matter how you slice it we're still 1-2 over our last three and one of those losses is to a sub-.500 overall team and to another team that was sub-.500 in the ACC. We just took two bad losses.

I don’t think Clemson is a bad team. They played well tonight and won.

the problem with a lot of Carolina fans is that they tend to overreact and can be irrational. There are what 9 games left?

It's ACC refs, man. They're gonna be terrible and most infuriating they're gonna be wildly inconsistent over the course of the game. This conference has consistently had the worst refs in the country in football and basketball alike my whole life.

UNC got the benefit of two terrible calls that could have won them the game if they executed. Those last 2 mins were awful for the heels, could have taken control of the game. It happens.

still, great win against Duke softens the blow a bit and hopefully the team gets humbled and refocuses.

  4. I thought the NFL did not want to have games on Friday nights before thanksgiving because they didn’t want to distract from high school football and take away the sanctity that is Friday night high school football?
oh that’s right when there is money to be made nobody cares about stuff like that

As a UNCC alum, I see parallels between the Hornets and 49ers.  In the 90's, both were good (not great) teams. They weren't title contenders, but you expected them to be in the playoffs/tournament. And they've both been sh#t shows for the last 20 years.

It's been fun watching 49ers hoops come back to life. Maybe someday that will happen with the Hornets.

UNCC used to be a very solid mid major program. I don’t know what happened. Bad coaching hire and hire?

what sucks though is this day and age of NIL and basically legal cheating - if any UNCC players stand out they might get bought off from better programs.

We can only hope so. The only time my opinion of Morgan took a hit was when he ran down to New Orleans to try and make their team. I understand the desire to still play, even with the risks involved, but going to a hated rival? I want it to work out well for him, and we get back to prominence.

Oh come on. It’s not like he transferred from Duke to UNC.

he isn't aggressive.  his teams don't tackle well.  So....

I mean, he is way better than Thomas Brown/Frank Reich as a coordinator at this point.  But we often are just comparing ourselves to ourselves.

I also hate and will always hate the 3-4. Chinn is probably gone and I can promise you he is gonna blow up on another team.

lol man... it was literally the same play as the end of Duke/Clemson. I wonder if all the backlash after that caused the refs to hesitate on blowing it at the end of GT/UNC.

Thats a great point and a fair question.

still, refs call poo one week and don’t call it the next. Can not put the game in the refs hands and UNC did that.

I love seeing highly ranked teams going down in any sport, but not due to the refs. On replay, it was an obvious missed call.

They also missed a travel on a made three and the Tech PG was pushing off left and right. He probably extended the arm on his final lay up but I didn’t watch the replay I was so shocked they didn’t call a foul on Davis.

ACC road games are tough because of the home team has a pulse and shows up big the refs are going to feed in to the crowd and want to do something that gets the fans excited.

I would hope UNC at the very least gets that called at home like Duke did on Saturday.

  10. A teaching moment for everyone in Carolina blue that you can’t count on the refs to bail you out.

Yes, that was a very suspiciously officiated game and Davis was fouled at the end but they of all people should know the refs will fug you if given the chance. Every home team has a big advantage with biased officiating.

learn from it and use it as fuel for Saturday.
