If TMJ doesn't end up making the team (which is a real possibility), then I'd like to see Sanders take over #88 and really try to be our next Olsen.

Don't know why, but I don't like how 85 looks on him and hoping he makes a change to something else.

I heard he wanted 0 like he had in college, but for now him in 85 I hope just has to do with it being rookie camp. I don't think there is anybody really good enough on team to deny him the number he wants, but I do remember an article about Jaycee wanting 0 before Burns last year.

How the hell did Rattler get drafted? Legette could have had 200-300 more yards with a good QB. Rattler has no anticipation on his throws plus terrible placement the ball ahead of the receiver. Legette has to wait on so many throws.

And the QB before Rattler was worse! People are like well he only had one year of production. Analysts and malcontents always move the goal posts when they want.

I don't really consider the UDFAs part of the team or plan.   If he makes the team? Then sure.  They carry such low odds.  Hope he does.

But sometimes that is what you have to do considering the big picture. Rhule and Fitt left this team devoid of talent and stretched out true rebuilding efforts under the disguise of a ready to compete roster. How can you not consider UDFAs part of the team or plan when their contributions over the course of NFL history and our own team history has been unmeasurable? A great deal of NFL success is pure opportunity and there is real talent in the UDFA pool. This kid started 29 games over last three seasons in college with many accolades and he should be considered a solution, part of the team/plan until he is out right no longer a part of the organization.

  4. People saying we have no natural center on the team is being disingenuous. Yes he is undrafted, but so was Jeff Saturday. When building a roster, you have to ask people to do multiple things or down right allocate resources to different position groups. This isn't Madden which isn't said enough on this board.

    Andrew Raym, C, Oklahoma

Center was a position of need for the Panthers before the draft, but they waited until after the festivities to bring one into the building. That center is Andrew Raym, who started 29 games over his final three years at Oklahoma.

Raym possesses prototypical NFL size at 6-foot-4 and 314 pounds. He uses his strength to his advantage, though analysts noted he has slow hands at the point of attack and can struggle against quicker defenders.

Raym was the anchor of an offensive line that helped the Sooners rank third in the country in yards per game (507.0) in 2023. If he can clean up some of his technical issues and lean into his strengths as a gritty mauler, he could find his way onto the team's final 53-player roster.

History says one of MHJ, Rome or Nabers will be an absolute bust, so it's not out of the realm of possibilty. Keyshawn Johnson is a good comp for Marvin Harrison Jr. Solid, but not spectacular

Keyshawn was spectacular when he came out of USC and had a very productive start to his career with marginal speed. Marvin Harrison is better coming out of school, because he is a polished route runner, wins jump balls, has the production with different QBs, and has the speed to run away from people. The kid's dad is a HOF WR and he has that pedigree, but is almost 6'4" and runs a 4.3. Comparing him to K. Johnson is lazy, like saying Merrill Hoge was a good comp for Christian McCaffrey. 🤣

  6. Why do people immediately just post every random thought in their head before looking at anything related to the player? Coker is 6'3" and weighs 215lbs, but he is going to take over the slot role once A. Thielen leaves. I thought the whole point of a message board was for your opinion to be looked at and taken somewhat seriously. Too many people too anxious and excited to get in on the conversation around here.

This is getting overlooked IMO. It was a great trade and we still got the player we wanted in Brooks. It’s nice to be on this side of a trade for once…

And that's the thing. I get it people are going to parrot the word "DAWG" a thousand times about prospects and whine about not taking the exact player they wanted out of tens of thousands of collegiate players, but give credit where it is due. With all the misgivings of the Fitterer era and people are still bringing up Hurney, give Morgan and this set of coaches credit for making a how much do you all want him trade to acquire a high pick next year. I'm over the moon that just once, in a long time we didn't get fleeced!

  8. We have two Crystal Balls for the Cade Tyson kid from Belmont after his visit this weekend. Secondly, there are serious rumblings/rumors that Seth Trimble pulls out of the transfer portal. I think he will be a huge boost for continuity and toughness next year. It makes me think about what if Theo Pinson would've left after his sophomore year after sitting behind Tokoto? I really think things were emotional and Trimble's family was big mad. His mom was all over social media and let's not forget his older brother left UNC to be a European citizen instead of coming back due to his perceived future roll going forward. Now that the dust has settled, its looking like he won't leave. I mean, who wants to go be the starting PG at Seton Hall or Duquesne anyways!

Yep, John Ross comes to mind.  Hollywood Brown too.

Ross had a bad Carfax report coming out of college, but Brown and D. Jackson just don't make sense. I mean fast guys who run away from people constantly being out for hamstring issues seems so avoidable if they take care of their bodies. Other than injuries before the draft, its a tossup.

I can't wait to see all the part-time fans think that is still Shaq because of the #7 and the dreads.

Met a guy one time that swore to these other guys at a bar he was a die-hard fan and never missed a game. He swore that "Steve Smith was the only reason Cam Newton got to see the Super Bowl back in 2017".

You just can't win with fans like that, and the sad part is they are the loudest on social media.

I remember barbers who said they were die-hard fans coming into a facility I worked at being super angry that we cut Deangelo Williams 2 years before we moved on from him. I let them have a 45 minute conversation before I shut it down with facts.

I'll never forgive Kelvin Benjamin for not chasing down that Chargers defender and forcing Cam to have to make that awkward tackle and causing Cam to hurt his shoulder.

I’ll never stop replying that KB did nothing wrong. He clearly touched the defender when he was down and there was a ref that was a few feet away. It was also KB who touched him while down so I can’t blame him for knowing the play was over.

If you don’t recall, that play got reversed very quickly as it was completely obvious that the DB was already down on replay.

If Brady was QB, the ref blows the whistle right away. Cam didn’t get calls and there’s no reason refs would want to protect him. There was an emphasis on the refs to blow plays dead because of injuries and dangerous plays. TD got his suspension for hitting Davante Adams almost exactly 1 year later.

I don’t care how people feel about KB overall, but Cam hurting his shoulder was 100% on the ref in the end zone that decided to let the play continue.

I just give props to you guys for knowing that this is when Cam hurt his shoulder the worst. So many Panthers and non Panthers' fans say it was the TJ Watt hit that did Cam in just when he got rolling with Norv at the helm or the fact that he ran too much. This play was the play that started it all with our too often inept coaching and surgery staff. I believe had this play not happened, the TJ Watt hit would've been routine hit with soreness and rehab. Even so, Chad Pennington got resigned after obliterating his shoulder and he started with a noodle arm. Drew Brees' shoulder was literally smashed to the middle of his upper back and even though there were many doubters, he got to rehab and have an entire second career with New Orleans. Cam was quickly ushered out of the league.

*Glances at the huge gaping hole at the center position*

Yep, that's a "good foundation" alright.

And the coach said they had a good start to a good foundation for the future. Of course the reporter manipulated the quote to sound like there was an even more resounding optimistic outlook when what Goodson said was enough. They do have a good start to a good foundation at line.

Gotta keep that concert money coming in.

Didn't even think twice about it for that money, especially the unmatched idea of bringing in grass from NC and SC counties. And counter it by look how many opportunities we've brought due to concerts.

  14. I remember a game against Atlanta. They were putting up crazy numbers because nobody could cover Tony Gonzales. Early in the game, they ran a deep TE post and Luke ran the route for Tony and Ryan threw the ball on a dime on this particular timing route to a streaking Luke in the middle of the field. Keek the football geek! We were all witnesses....

Not firing Moron and letting him luck into a COTY award really fuged us.

We could have been in the mix for the super bowl on a yearly basis with good coaching instead of whatever the hell Ron and Shula were doing.

Gettleman also had a lot to do with that with his love for certain types of players. The coaching staff wanted Devante Adams and Stephon Diggs. He drafted bums. He also wouldn't pay a few more million for Ted Ginn and Josh Norman. There are so many what ifs from that time that turned a potential 7-8 year championship window into 2-3 years.

  16. The funny thing to me is that nobody in six pages has mentioned that Shedeur has worked with Tom Brady in the off season since his sophomore year and is signed to TB12 clothing line as well as it being documented that Brady is one of his chief mentors. But yeah, let's keep on calling everything to do with this situation a circus and call the young man a headcase because you dislike Deion.

crap organizations have no chance of not being one unless the draft works the way it's supposed to. the team with the worst records get opportunity to better itself by having for shot at who they think is the best talent coming into the league.

bypassing that is, in my opinion, a douche move. i don't care who your daddy is. daddy can keep out of it.

I understand the draft and how it works. Some teams are trying to rebuild, have had to press the reset button. They are not talking about those teams. They are talking about the toxic organizations like the ones who do not care about winning but care about people paying to come to the games regardless of the product they put out. I believe we were all recently complaining about Tepper raising ticket prices. The Atlanta Hawks did this for years as players and GMs came and went. The owner knew the community would support whatever he put on the court. So that's incredibly short sighted and surprises me coming from you. Yeah, I'll raise this kid, put all this work in his future, and then not have an opinion or use my influence to give him the hope for a better outcome in life. Or maybe your just another fan who cannot apply the same issues affecting regular Joes to professional athletes. Have you not ever looked out for someone going to a company, job, or situation and influenced them to steer clear?

Not amazing at all.  We had a very good defense and the best group of receivers to ever suit up for the Panthers as a unit.    Moose was in his prime, Steve Smith was really coming into his own and Proehl was Mr. Clutch.

The great Proehl who begged Nippleshorts to draft Devante Adams and Stephon Diggs. Instead he told the great to know his role and drafted two of the biggest bums to ever put on a Panther uniform. Jesuz, we are so backwards as an organization.

i thought it was a douche move back then. everyone did. eli looked like a entitled prick for it.

and just because it's happened before doesn't make it any less maddening.

It wasn't a douche move back then and it isn't now. Archie Manning was a great QB and his entire career was basically wasted playing for a terrible franchise who didn't care about winning or putting any talent around him for basically the entirety of his career. We seen that happen to so many greats in the past like Barry Sanders and Deion with the Falcons. As fathers, they don't want their offspring to go through the same nonsense! The Chargers ran a crap organization and there are terrible organizations now who are basically waiting to draft players and ruin their careers. Even recently, in our organization we had two certain HOF players in Cam and Luke. After two shortened, mismanaged careers, there is little guarantee that either will be in Canton with zero chips and just a handful of faint memories of their impact on the league. Poorly run organizations don't deserve to keep putting in crap ass effort and getting new bodies for their asylums.

Not that last year wasn’t a dumpster fire across the board, but with the players nerfing practice reps at every cba they can no longer be fat slobs in the off-season and expect to come get in shape, perfect their craft, and iron everything out in training camp. If Ickey isn’t working on his fundamentals in the off-season, he won’t ever live up to expectations at LT.

Ain't that the truth! The biggest drop off in play across the board is due to lack of reps for OL throughout training camp. Their technique and conditioning are way off. I feel like guys hardly have any chance anymore to work on their game with practice reps anymore.

Jadeveon Clowney is a solid DE who has earned his role as a starter on multiple teams.

He didn't end up being #1 overall pick good, but he is an A+ Run defender and decent pass rusher.

Years when he actually stays healthy (Which is not often) he puts up solid numbers.

He's also light-years better than anyone else on our roster who plays the position.

You better get out of here with that logic! Everybody should know that Chase Young is still coming back to !00% from his knee surgery. Washington had a fire sell to save money, and we seen the BS in capital letters of what happened in San Fran. Also, nobody is talking about how Bosa took basically half the season to get into shape only playing hard on passing downs! The great white hypes though never get questioned about effort or that stupid dawg shite!
