Would be so on brand if Tepper came down and stopped the news conference and walk back the benching.

This feels like step 1 of how to get out this hell we are in.

He makes decisions that make you go hmm…and makes others that make you go “wow”. But I was sold on him after the first drive at UNC last year. Those timing out routes got me.
he will be drafted, I wonder where to. I don’t trust the Panthers to do the sensible thing and pass on guys who, while worth it in THIS draft, are not worth it compared to a core you could build by trading down.
I do believe Joey would be a great developmental guy though. He’s got the size, the speed, the awareness, the arm strength and accuracy, and intangibles you want. I’d take him over Bryce, right now. I know that much.
Has all the physical tools for sure. There isn't a throw he can't make.
He would be starting for a major team if he did not make a bonehead play a game, which the right NFL team could work with.
I see him as a solid backup with starter potential in the right system.

Saw Shedeur throw a frozen rope 60 yards in the air, on a dime, on the move. He also makes timing throws, he plays within the pocket and escapes when necessary, which is often.
I don’t care for the others.
im good with trading back three spots and taking Travis Hunter, and then drafting App State’s QB in the 4th round. He’s a gunslinger with speed, plays well within the pocket, runs a 4.6 or so, is 6’3, and can make any throw on the field with pace and precision.
some people will point to the Clemson game as a reason not to but that’s not really a fair assessment considering the receivers couldn’t get off of press coverage and App has four new offensive linemen playing.
In their bowl game in a monsoon last year, RG3 said something to the effect of “I know what it’s like to throw the ball in the rain, and if NFL scouts weren’t paying attention before, they need to be paying attention now”. Dude threw for 220 yards in a game that saw something like 4 to 6 inches of rain.
This is a pretty good assessment of Joey Aguilar. Thanks.
I've mentioned to several people that I think he's the first QB to get drafted out of App St that I can remember. I do not count Armanti because we messed that up.
Aguilar has a bit of Favre to him.

Oh and for 2026 the nfl will test out the lottery format just for giggles
Is this for real?

Tepper said my butt looked good in jeans. We wear them every Friday.

No surprise. He's a diva and this is such a bad situation for him.

Our best player just got torched by a mid WR.

I was in SF two weeks ago and saw a guy wearing a panthers hat on the Golden Gate Bridge. I approached him, shook his hand for being so bold, and tried to talk Panthers with him but he just shook his head and smiled. My kids pulled my attention away and that was the end of that interaction. I don’t know if he understood me, could hear me through all the wind, it was just a hat he found, or was just embarrassed. My wife thinks he didn’t understand English, but I think he was just embarrassed because it was just a hat he had to wear of a terrible team.
I kept waiting for you to tell us he jumped off the bridge.

Hypothetically, what's his value? A third?

Tepper is the boogie man for everything but it was Fitterer who convinced the room it was Bryce.
the clown guy profile guy will post a pic of Nicole hugging Bryce but there was an argument for CJ but Tepper trusted the GM.
Just curious, was it really Fitt that had to convince everyone? That's some hard to believe considering how thin of ice he had to be on going into that draft.
Another prime example of why house needed to be cleaned when Rhule was let go if true.

Agreed. Cyber Bully him until he has a QBR over 85.

I assume it’s nice to have at least one disaster of a team per conference. They really blew it approving Tepper. I hope they never approve an owner with no ties to the state.
I still can’t believe they tried to trade for Watson.
My theory is other owners were happy to approve him, knowing how big of a bozo and soft target he would be.

Is there any scenario in which the NFL competition committee steps in and forces change in Carolina?
Maybe 3 straight years of the worst record with no improvement?
Imagine the top prospects refusing to sign here if drafted, devaluing our future #1 picks.
-
He will be in therapy next off season.
-
Even if he didn't, I'm sure he is itching to jump back in after seeing how much worse we somehow got without his 'help'.

I still have a feeling he has the whole season unfortunately
Possibly.
At some point it becomes a Canales try out though. Dark days ahead sadly.
-
I'd like to give Canales an actual chance.
Like let him select his own QB next draft and not whoever the Teppers get warm and fuzzies over.
At what point does the NFL competition committee speak with Tepper
in Carolina Panthers
