Why release and not trade? You know somebody would have snatched him up. What is going on in Houston.

Oh last year with apparently no dead money but still. Probably could have gotten something for him.

  2. I think our WR corps is a little better now than when we lost Ginn. Curtis is simply a luxury we can't afford. He's a WR3 and will lose targets with the return of CMC. Loved watching him, but we need to let someone else pay him to be a WR2 and make good use of the comp pick.

McClain is anything but a Texans mouthpiece.

You should read some of the stuff he's written about Cal McNair, Bill O'Brien, Jack Easterby and others.

Either the terms McClain is throwing out are what he's been told by his sources in the Texans organization, or he's speculating.

Just to be clear, McClain still doesn't believe that the Texans will trade Watson.

He's also said that if they do, the only team that has a realistic chance is the Jets because of what they can offer in return.

He's giving a framework for a starting offer if they change their minds, but he doesn't believe they're going to change their minds.

McClain also gone from "The Texans are not trading Watson" to "if the Texans were to trade Watson". He's putting out what the Texans want put out.

The Texans will do everything they can to repair the relationship and try to keep Watson. If they determine they can't, they'll take the best deal they can get which may end up being less than what they are leaking through McClain right now.

They're looking at replacing JJ Watt. I don't really think Yetur Gross-Matos moves the needle to that level.

if the framework is two young defensive starters, one of them has to be Burns. You can negotiate on the second one but I don't see any chance Burns gets left out.

I wouldn't like trading Burns, but I'm not letting an edge rusher stop me from securing the services of an All Pro caliber QB for the next ten years.

Rhule and company had a week to get to know whatever they wanted to about Jones. They publicly raved about him, though that doesn't necessarily mean they'd draft him at number eight.

The feeling it gives me though is that if they do (or don't) I'm probably gonna trust that decision.

Rhule was generally positive in his remarks about most of the players he was asked about. I wouldn't read too much into it.
