elite QBs can beat good teams

Deshaun Watson (absolutely an elite QB) won 4 games this year (Jax twice, NE, and Detroit).

How are we building our oline in that scenario?
Just have to be really good at drafting in the 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round...

Let’s do what we have to do to land one of the big 4 QBs in the draft and not go chasing other veteran QBs that don’t fit into this rebuild. Time for Rhule and Brady to start fresh and get the guy that will define their tenure here.
You seem to be saying here that you favor spending assets (players and/or draft picks) to move up to draft one of the Big 4. If we are going to spend assets, my first choice would be to spend them on a young, proven player like Watson. If we are outbid for Watson by teams with greater assets, then I would agree with spending assets to move up for a quarterback the staff has a conviction on. They just better be right.

Apologize if this has already been brought up as I didn't have time to read all 12 pages.
If I'm Watson, who do I want standing between me and the Super Bowl? Mahomes, Allen, and Lamar for the next decade or a bunch of guys who will retire soon like Brady, and Rodgers?
-
Am I correct in thinking Bill O'Brian would have been running an E-P system in Houston? How much of a transition would be it for Watson to the modified WCO Brady prefers?

ESPN's Bill Barnwell ranks Carolina as Watson' 2nd most practical destination.

Fitbit said in this introductory pressure that there's not that much difference between picks 20 to 40. Seattle traded back so much, he's used to not having a 1st round pick. He could make it work.
Watson is 25. You've got a decade of high level QB play, maybe more, plus all the marketing to the Clemson fans you thought Trevor would bring the franchise.
Absolutely worth the deal Barnwell outlined.

May take three firsts, a current player and maybe a second to get Watson. To put this into perspective, would you trade away players that could become three pro-bowlers and a good role player for their one QB?
So, that is a Luke, Ryan Khalil, Christian McCaffery and Shaq Thompson for Deshaun Watson.
As much as I would like Watson here, I do not believe that I would make this deal.

This is one year I really miss Chucky's old QB camps.

Kind of disappointed, but I don't know how much better we could have realistically done. He's fine, I guess. I was hoping for Tony Elliott, but I think he was scared off by the impending NCAA investigation.
Heupel definitely knows how to put up points, and we haven't had a good offense since Joshua Dobbs.
I just don't see Elliot leaving until his kids graduate.

It's this kind of thinking that has kept us on a rollercoaster for our entire existence. We as fans need to stop thinking this way. You don't build a championship organization in a year or two.

Take it for what its worth (consider the source) but Kiper was on the radio this morning discussing his latest mock. He said he had a higher grade on Darnold and Tua when they came out than he has on Fields or Wilson (what was his grade on Pickles again?). He said those teams should draft receivers like DeVonta Smith and Jamar Chase.
I'm not saying he's right, but if Miami and New York do decide to go receiver instead of quarterback, and with little chance that Cinci or Philly goes quarterback, that leaves Atlanta at 4 and Detroit at 7. There's a chance Atlanta might not go QB either and still want to build around Matt Ryan. That could put Fields and Wilson in play as late as 7. We'd have to jump Detroit unless we knew they weren't going to take the guy we wanted, or have our choice of whoever Detroit didn't take from Fields/Wilson/Lance.
It's like a super high stakes game of poker.

say we do pick up Stafford...he gets us to 9...10..11 wins...we still will need a qb for sustained winning consistency. How we go about that drafting late? Guess we rely on Fetererererer to find a gem?
We'd be in the playoffs making a run at the Chip. Tampa seems unconcerned and Brady is way older than Stafford. Just can't over pay.

We won’t get any of those guys. Better hope we get Lance or we stuck with Teddy just to win another 5 games
TB could get us to 7 or 8 wins next year. Improving, young defense, return of CMC, Rhule more experienced and (hopefully) a more normal off-season. We could be picking in the teens where it would be even more costly to move up.

They’re only the story for those rooting for GB ..
Dayum, he grabbed the jersey.. it’s a penalty..
If he’d have grabbed a Panther we’d say the same thing,, it’s a penaltyI didn't have a rooting interest. I just found it ironic.

I feel like the NFL sent a memo to Nantz and Romo to mention Bieniemy every they mentioned Reid.
-
Tampa seems unconcerned about building for the long haul or sustained success.
-
Refs all game long: make sure we aren't the story.
Refs last drive: become the story.
