Graziano is definitely good, as is Fowler. Don’t think either of these are sourced, but anything with NFL nation means those beat guys too, meaning David Newton. We all know his track record. Not saying it’s crazy to think Callahan will be the guy, but I’m not sure how you can put more weight thats it’s him vs any of McDonald, Slowik, Canales, etc.

On one hand it’s ridiculous that Tepper won’t interview BB and Harbaugh, when they are supposedly casting a wide net. On the other hand, all these big name coaches in the market only helps the Panthers get one of these young guns.

Why are people acting like the NFL community at large thought CJ was far and away the better prospect? That just wasn’t the case. Bryce was probably consensus QB1. So while it’s fair to think CJ should have been the guy, it wasn’t because the Panthers made some egregious reach.

I’m stating to lean toward Slowik. I think the Shanny offense would be great for Bryce.

How in the fug does Ickey have such a high grade? Not that it was not already obvious, but Panthers Guard play was the worst in the NFL.

We can argue about the flashes thing until we are blue in the face. A lot of that is subjective and probably based on pre-conceived notions of what you or I thought about Bryce from the jump (if not you or I, for most). But we do agree on the bad circumstances. It’s unlikely next year will be worse. You have to think he will have at least some better weapons and support. He will also have a year of really hard NFL experience under his belt. So in all likelihood he will have a better year. The question is how good? Is it a he is a franchise QB level, an above average QB, average, etc. I think how well he does will point the arrow on who he will be in his career. So ultimately that’s why any true judgment on him this year is unfair.

I believe he showed flashes. I understand the NFL is about consistency and ultimately flashes don’t mean anything, but it certainly gives me hope. I would ask do you really think we got a fair assessment of what Bryce can be given his support/coaches/FO/ownership. I think that answer is unequivocally no. So it’s not so much believing Bryce will be a franchise QB, I don’t know, I just know he hasn’t been given the best opportunity to do that. Therefore, it’s an incomplete assessment.

Jeff was arguably a better run blocker and clearly a better pass blocker. There is also a difference in getting beat and having complete mental lapses and allowing free rushers. Granted it’s been a decade plus, but I don’t remember Otah just giving up uncontested sacks on the regular.

Who here thinks this team will be good next year? I’m still high on Bryce, but this team basically needs a new offensive line and 2-3 receivers. Teams can go from bad to good quick in the NFL, but assuming you get the right hire at coach and GM it will take at least two off seasons to field a team that can compete for the playoffs. That’s if everything goes well, which it hasn’t for this team in a long time. 4-5 wins would be a great improvement for this team.
