Fuchs. Red card. Don’t wanna see him on the field anymore. Let Mora or someone else go at LB
-
Swiderski at the 10 might be his best position for The Crown. Beautiful cross into Rios for the goal

Just suck that the one DP MF we have can’t even see the field. I think we need to buy down Alcivar and Joz’s DP contracts to open them and then save them for legit DPs like Toronto did
-
Soccer and football are 2 very different things. You only get 2 short windows in soccer to bring new people in vs football where you can make trades and signings all season
Plus, MLS is different in how contracts and money are structured. Only DP players can be paid w/e. Everyone has like a cap of $1.5M. That’s how Toronto landed 2 studs from Italy. They had 2 DO spots open. We’re a first year franchise, learning how MLS operates. What were you expecting?

Sat this one out for college football, looks like I didn’t miss anything.
I wanted to hope we could get a win after I sat through App’s loss in Boone. I was too tired to care by the end of this fiasco

So over the “build out of the back” bullshit. How about, on goal kicks, we just boot them? Might not give up goals that way

Lowes and BOA have always made sense considering their local roots… taking that away would be yet another example of Tepper wanting to establish a new legacy and rid the organization of any past relationships.
Lowes has a league wide sponsor deal with the NFL, so Tepper might end w/e with the Panthers but they’ll still be there

That Canyon ATX or w/e looks dope though

THE KING HAS RETURNED!!

A bright spot in last night’s game: Malanda. dude looked like such an upgrade and I think he’ll pair so well with Carujo.
Really need Santos and Byrne to get starts the rest of the season just to see what they’ve got

Tyler Adams has been beasting for Leeds so far this season. Gonna really need him in the WC

Surprised since they've been putting him on backburner lately but I love this. Beyond his play he's quickly become a cornerstorne of the team's culture.
I like the idea of him taking over Swid's role but his biggest strength is probably the energy he brings as a sub. Has he started for the team much at all?
He had a few starts early on but as a winger and has been on the bench as of late because, as Lattanzio has said, he’s more of a Center Forward/Striker and our other wingers are playing better in the role that they should be.
I think TopBin90 had an article recently that laid out how he’s not really a distributor of the ball, looking for assists which is what Wingers should be doing
-
It’ll be interesting to see what his role would be, unless they’re signing him to be the man up top next year, in anticipation that someone is going to come in and offer an agreeable amount for Karol in the winter transfer window
-
Don’t see that happening unless the new guys are thrust into start and contribute a ton. Byrne should be an immediate start but would they throw Malanda in over Walkes/Sobo? Nuno is a must start, but does he replace Jones or McNeil? I like Bronico playing higher up but is Jones as good at the holding mid? Could McNeil do that? Maybe try Alcivar at the 6

As a # 9 I believe, he came on for Swiderski against NYCFC.
At one point last night, I was almost begging for a 4-4-2 to get Shiny up too with Karol.
Bronico/Bender central with Joz/Yordy out wide. Honestly worth tinkering with now that playoffs are all but dead
-
Interesting from CL about Shinyashiki. so does this mean they are trying him as a 10 in training?
-
Watching the game against Chelsea right now and Aaronson is gonna take the Premier League by storm this year. Never really got into the EPL. Tried to follow Chelsea for Pulisic but Tuchel is screwing him over. Leeds I can get behind

I’m also hopeful that by September, our new arrivals: Santos, Byrne, and Malanda, will all be available.
Lattanzio said Malanda had an appointment in France and could happen by Sunday and that Byrne and Santos were approved and just waiting for appointments in their home countries

Yeah I don’t understand the philosophy in the first. If you want to get to half a 1-1 or nil-nil that’s fine but you have to dink the ball around the back to at least give yourself a break. I felt like when we weren’t defending we were just clearing it right back up the field to NYCFC.
In the second half we started pressing much higher and overall we just looked much quicker.
It’s pretty much why I’ve gotten off the CL train. He has gotten the team to play better since taking over. I don’t think we’d still be in this playoff hunt under MAR, but his tactical decisions just aren’t consistent. First half, we were clearly looking to counter with long balls and it worked…once. After that goal they were playing deeper on Gaines’ side to kill his effectiveness and pressing everywhere else.
The 2nd half tactics should just be the tactics all the time. A consistent plan from game to game and just get good at it

I want to believe that Lattanzio has learned you can’t just park the damn bus when you score early. MAR did that same poo a few times and it burned us then too
That flick from Swidz was filthy and I’m glad Bronico finished it off. Gaines made himself useful tonight
I feel like Vargas’ start for wasted because we were so defensive in the first half after that goal. He was playing way too deep in the CLT half and looked unsure of himself on the attack. He really only got that one good shot off

I had a thought last night, but Bender seemed to have most of his best games when we were playing the 4-4-2 and he was playing as a wide midfielder vs playing central. We’re already crowded on the winger but maybe that’s where Bender might be best right now. He really doesn’t seem to do much centrally in the way of controlling possession. Guess we’re committed now to the 4-3-3 but maybe something like a 4-2-4 could still make use of our wingers and give Swiderski that 2nd striker to play off when he was successful early on as well. Might as well experiment now that we’re likely out of the playoffs
-
We’ve staved off these type of ass whoopings all season, which is admiral tbh. I had low expectations going into this season as an expansion team, so the way we’ve played for the most part has felt like house money. I honestly expected these types of losses more often than not
The MAR aftermath is really starting to hit especially since we’ve basically offloaded an entire starting midfield. I think we all realistically knew Bender would have growing pains and hit a wall. McNeil is pretty much looking like a CLT Independence player in MLS. Great energy but outmatched for the most part
Fuchs and Afful are cooked. Sobocinski and Malinda should be the CBs for the rest of the year next to Walkes. Byrne should slot in immediately at RB and honestly, try Lindsay at LB. Mora has done well but he’s slow
Winter transfer window will be huge. They should buy down Alcivar AND Jozwiak’s DP contracts to open them up. Would love Shinyashiki back but there’s obviously something going on there if he’s not even sniffing the pitch.
Year 1 was always going to be a pain, we just held it off longer than most. I’ll still watch the games b/c I’ve honestly enjoyed the season as a whole and having a MLS team to root for. Going to home games are fun and I hope that atmosphere stays
TLDR; read it

Jesus f’ing Christ…No!! We get it, you hate Tepper
-
Yeah I’m off the Lattanzio train. We need to attack and he goes to a back 5, replacing 1 old guy with another who can’t keep up with the pace of this league. Fuchs at CB has been a disaster recently

He was a good signing for experience and leadership, but that’s kinda fallen by the wayside. Like, it was a blatant elbow that isn’t getting past VAR. really put the team in a bad spot
